Chapter 385: Surging Strength

The Goddess of Death, who had returned at some unknown time, threw off her black robe and sat on the chair, fuming.

The ghostly flames before her had already extinguished, making Zane's movements imperceptible.

"Damn the Tribunal! While I was away for so long, they actually raised the main universe's binding force on me to its highest level."

"Luckily, that Zane doesn't know my true nature. He thinks I'm just a mere projection…"

"But what he doesn't realize is that I, Death, cannot be killed. As long as even a single life perishes in this Omniverse, I will exist indefinitely."

"Still, those two pairs of eyes of his are indeed unusual. Are all beings from beyond the domain this unique?"

"No wonder the big brute of a Titan I deliberately supported was no match for him."

"And it's precisely because of that idiot's death that I remembered a seed plan I had long forgotten…"

"Hehehe, could it really be that this time I'll get to savor the seed of eighth-dimensional death power as I wish?"

"The mere thought makes me inexplicably excited. Grow strong quickly, Zane Sy…"

"When I visit you again, obediently return to the embrace of Death…"

The Goddess of Death, who had stripped herself bare, now felt even more feverish.

Her voluptuous and shapely body alternated between being a terrifying skeleton, a transparent, airy void, and then back to its original form.

This eerie transformation made a group of large, round-headed figures nearby huddle together, trembling in fear.

Before long, Death finally calmed down, casually tossing her slender, delicate arm to the side of her chair.

A head, larger than the existing round heads by a margin, belonging to a Planet Devourer, landed among them with its eyes closed.

"You lot, return to your original forms as well."

Though Death restrained herself, she couldn't hide the bloodlust in her tone.

Whoosh!

As soon as she spoke, the newly thrown head abruptly opened its eyes, and like snowballs merging, the other round heads collectively lunged upward, fusing into the largest one.

In no time, a youthful yet fully formed Planet Devourer, just tall enough to reach the armrest of the chair, stood before Death.

"Adorable Devourer, you'll stay here and quietly wait for the old man to come redeem you."

Death narrowed her eyes into slits, teasing the half-sized soul body in front of her:

"Rest assured, in my Domain, no one can lay a finger on you…"

Before she finished speaking, a previously indiscernible black, transparent thread on the Planet Devourer's soul body suddenly became visible and thickened.

Like a long iron chain, it bound the Planet Devourer's soul.

Just as Death reacted, the chain, along with the Planet Devourer, disappeared in an instant.

"Hm? Is this the death power that boy unleashed earlier?"

"It's actually reawakened…"

"So that means… I… should also start preparing."

Clearing her slightly dry throat, Death's eyes burned with madness as she hysterically screamed into the void:

"Twelve Apostles, show yourselves!"

Two Days Later.

In the vast expanse of Primary Universe 616, a colossal, semicircular, bow-shaped super-dreadnought spaceship drifted in space.

This vessel was none other than the one Zane had acquired from the Watchers.

Surrounding the main ship were nearly a hundred smaller ships, bustling with hundreds of beings from various humanoid species. Among them were elves, mechanized humans, and others, all key members of Zane's subordinate force, the "Reaper Alliance."

On the bridge of the main ship, the room was adorned with clocks bearing the distinct design of the Watcher race. At the most prominent and elevated spot of the vessel, an ancient gold pendulum clock hung, ticking rhythmically and earning Skynet's admiration.

At this moment, Rocket had taken over Roma's position, animatedly operating the ship's controls.

Skynet, Bastis, Little Bone, and Lorna—along with the sapling Groot nestled in her arms—sat together, encircling Roma.

They were engrossed in observing the crystal orb that Roma manipulated with her magic.

The orb occasionally displayed scenes that felt familiar yet vaguely alien to the group.

During this time, Skynet and the others had received an intensive crash course from Roma on the concept of the Omniverse.

They now understood that the scenes depicted likely originated from parallel dimensions in alternate universes.

Suddenly, Skynet, Bastis, and Little Bone felt an inexplicable surge of energy within their bodies.

Rays of dazzling light erupted from them, with Bastis's reaction being the most pronounced.

Even Roma's focus on the crystal ball was disrupted.

In the next moment, Roma transformed into her rose-gold journal form, astonished by the sudden, inexplicable advancements of the three.

Previously, Little Bone and Skynet had only just reached the early stages of six-dimensional strength. Now, in the blink of an eye, they inexplicably leapt to the mid-sixth dimension.

This phenomenon baffled Rocket and Groot, who had recently absorbed divine essences to break through themselves.

Lorna was equally stunned. Her energy level, weaker than Zane's, had risen only thanks to the vengeful goddess's blessing. She couldn't comprehend what had caused this sudden leap in strength for Little Bone and Skynet.

Meanwhile, Bastis's growth was even more astonishing than that of Little Bone and Skynet.

Recently, as Zane's [Divine Realm] accumulated more and more souls, Bastis, as the second greatest beneficiary of faith energy after Zane, had rapidly reached the late fifth dimension.

But due to a dimensional bottleneck, she had been unable to advance further.

Now, in an instant, she not only broke through to the sixth dimension but advanced to the late sixth dimension.

This development placed her power second only to Lorna, who had received the vengeful goddess's blessing.

"This vibrant, overflowing energy… is it coming from the [Divine Realm]?"

"The energy radiating from the Master's [Divine Realm] feels entirely different from before."

"It fills my soul with a sense of boundless vitality."

"Could it be that the Master has broken through again?"

"After all, both Little Bone, Skynet, and I are soul entities belonging to the Master's [Divine Realm]."

"Moreover, I can absorb more of the faith energy than the two of them combined."

"This explains why our strengths have grown, with mine being the most pronounced."

Bastis's pupils dilated as a guttural sound emanated from her throat.

Having existed for countless years, even in her previous life, and being the one who inspired Zane's path to divinity through faith, Bastis found it inconceivable that the Master's breakthrough in the [Divine Realm] could result in such monumental leaps for his subordinate souls.

At that moment, an ethereal voice echoed in Bastis's mind.

In response, she licked her fluffy paw and leapt into the air, soaring up to perch atop the ancient gold pendulum clock at the ship's pinnacle.
