Marvel : Godly Lottery System

Chapter 397: Part of

Zane was momentarily bewildered upon hearing the question, but soon regained his vibrant demeanor.

"No, no, you're underestimating me…"

"The phrase that applies to me should be: *Give me a fulcrum, and I can move the entire universe!*"

If it weren't for the red triangular glow in his eyes, Zane might have doubted whether Jasper had truly broken free from the control of the Sharingan's illusion.

Zane thought for a moment and changed his approach.

"Then, do you have anything or anyone in the previous universe that you can't let go of?"

"Or perhaps something you still remember vividly even now?"

Zane understood that if this guy was truly a remnant soul of the Fulcrum, he wouldn't simply vanish so easily.

The fact that he kept dying and reviving repeatedly could very well be an instinctual behavior driven by some unresolved obsession.

Hearing Zane's question, Jasper's soul form uncharacteristically quieted down. The red triangle in his eyes spun rapidly, as if using Zane's illusion to unearth deeply buried secrets in his mind.

After a moment, the pale, ghostly head of Jasper furrowed his faint, curved eyebrows into sharply angled lines. He muttered:

"I only remember… something that feels so familiar, so familiar… like it's part of me. A golden egg, as tall as a person, constantly calling out to me."

"I'm not sure where it is—whether in my universe or in another dimension altogether…"

"I just have this faint premonition that if I find it, I might be able to fill a missing piece in my heart."

"Only then can I truly understand who I am…"

So it turned out that Fulcrum, the former lord of the Watchers, had left behind not just a remnant soul.

Zane was now fairly certain that Jasper was indeed one of Fulcrum's fragments.

Moreover, he speculated that the golden egg might be Fulcrum's true contingency plan from his battle with the Celestial.

As for Jasper, he might be nothing more than a speck of fragmented soul essence that leaked out of the egg, sealed away by extramundane forces for countless years.

This explained why Jasper had virtually no memory of Fulcrum.

Of course, it was also possible that most of the memories left by Fulcrum's remnant soul had already been eroded by time.

Regardless, finding that golden egg was now a necessary step in completing the system's mission to "Rescue Fulcrum."

Zane also realized that Jasper would be the key guide to locating the golden egg.

With this in mind, Zane knew he had to take Jasper back to the ultimate universe he came from, as it seemed the most likely place to hide Fulcrum's golden egg.

Having resolved his next course of action, Zane couldn't help but glance at Jasper and ask:

"Didn't you say you were so powerful?"

"Then how did you even die?"

Jasper's face showed a hint of sorrow as he replied dejectedly:

"I thought this universe was too boring, with no worthy opponents to fight."

"So, I created a new lifeform myself… and let it kill me."

"I wanted to meet the Goddess of Death here, but as it turns out, I've come up empty…"

Zane stared at the pure white soul in front of him, its melodramatic aura reminiscent of a tragic poet mourning fallen flowers, leaving him speechless.

He could hardly believe that this Jasper character had essentially engaged in indirect suicide just to meet Death.

As for why he went out of his way to create a lifeform to kill him, it was likely because Jasper believed only he was worthy of ending his own life. Direct suicide might have been a step he couldn't bring himself to take.

So, he specifically crafted a killer to fulfill that role.

Having pieced this together, Zane decided to stop paying attention to Jasper. He'd already obtained most of the clues he needed.

Now, the only way to uncover more about Fulcrum's remnant soul was to head to Ultimate Universe 1610.

With that, Zane swiftly sealed Jasper's soul into the *Tsukuyomi* space.

Although Zane currently wielded Omniversal-level powers of death—able to kill any being below the eighth dimension with a mere thought, or resurrect any lifeform just as easily—he had no immediate plans to revive Jasper.

Zane doubted that Jasper had wielded power beyond the eighth dimension in life, but given his potential connection to Fulcrum, it was hard to be certain.

And who knew what chaos this clown might unleash once restored to a physical body?

It wouldn't be surprising if Jasper turned against Zane the moment he was revived, derailing the mission to rescue Fulcrum entirely.

In his current soul form, however, Jasper could be subdued instantly.

So, in line with his preference to avoid unnecessary complications, Zane focused solely on finding the critical clues to Fulcrum's remnant soul.

The rest could be left to the bald-headed Observers to deal with.

After storing Jasper's soul, Zane hovered midair, surveying the vast expanse of the universe.

By now, the boundless space was filled with overlapping, luminous planets.

Since becoming the Death God of the Omniverse, Zane had found that he no longer required the faith energy of the dead.

However, as more souls transitioned into his [Divine Realm], he could increasingly sense a harmonious connection with these souls, as if they were all part of one entity.

He understood that this was because every soul converted by the [Divine Realm] contributed a fragment back to Zane's own soul.

Through these fragments, he achieved a resonance with the native souls.

Zane believed that, given time, when every soul in the Marvel Universe had entered his [Divine Realm], he would achieve the same state as the previous Death:

*A single form encompassing countless souls, and countless souls unified into one body.*

Of course, for this to happen, all souls needed to be part of a cyclical process—reincarnating endlessly throughout the universe.

To that end, Zane felt he had to take action.

For example, recruiting subordinates to manage the Netherworld.

Or establishing a complete system of reincarnation.

Though Zane had seen familiar figures resembling the Ten Kings of Hell during his previous clash with Death's Reaper Legion,

he realized after becoming the Sovereign of Death that the "Ten Kings of Hell" in the Marvel Universe were nothing more than hollow shells.

They bore only the same names, or perhaps served as regional overlords of souls, but lacked the functional structure he knew from his previous life.

Nor did they oversee a higher-level Six Paths of Reincarnation system.

Sometimes, Zane wondered: if all universes had countless parallel versions, why did this Marvel Universe share so many similarities with his previous world?
