Marvel: The Sorcerer in America

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Supreme Sorcerer

Unless there is a way to resurrect his family, Kaecilius's downfall is inevitable.

When Kaecilius posed the question to Lance, Lance thought for a moment before carefully responding, "That might be part of the teaching method of the Sorcerer Supreme. Kaecilius, you know that all knowledge at Kamar-Taj is shared. Perhaps we haven't reached a high enough level, so the Sorcerer Supreme is hiding something..."

"Maybe," Kaecilius replied, his voice somber and his tone sounding careless. It was clear that Lance's words did little to ease Kaecilius's mind.

Kaecilius then left.

With a wave of his hand, Kaecilius vanished without a trace, leaving no words behind.

However, Kaecilius still remembered to extract Lance from the mirror dimension.

At Kamar-Taj, knowledge could be shared. As long as someone wasn't a mad evil sorcerer, even if they weren't a practitioner of Kamar-Taj, they could enter the temple of book collections and read the books on magic.

However, magical weapons could not be shared.

While Lance was studying at Kamar-Taj, he was also given several special magical weapons: a low-level staff similar to the wands in the 'Harry Potter' world, a pair of magical boots that enhanced running speed, and... the most common and important, the Sling Ring.

The magic staff and the magical boots were merely tools to enhance one's affinity for magic. However, the Sling Ring, with its engraved spatial coordinates, was an extremely important magical weapon. This item allowed the use of the most coveted spells—portals and mirror dimensions.

Without the Sling Ring to help accurately locate space, unless someone had reached the level of Sorcerer Supreme, they would likely get lost in the labyrinth of space.

When Lance left Kamar-Taj, he could take all the knowledge he had learned, but the magical weapons from Kamar-Taj had to be left behind.

If Kaecilius had left without thinking further about Lance, he would have been in trouble without the Sling Ring.

Fortunately, at this point, Kaecilius had not turned dark, and Lance was not left in the mirror dimension.

Dusk was approaching.

After exiting the mirror dimension, Lance did not immediately return to his shop. Instead, he went to the rooftop of a building, where he could watch the sunset in the distance.

The wind blowing from the sea felt gentle, floating over the grass and trees growing on the ground, carrying a faint refreshing aroma. The wind brushed against Lance's slender body, alleviating the discomfort he felt after the power of the amulet faded.

The wind, carrying the scent of the ocean waves, propelled the sails, blowing a cruise ship from afar toward this international metropolitan city.

With a long sound of the wind, the breeze tousled Lance's loose bangs while shaking the surrounding trees, swirling some dry leaves chaotically until they flowed toward Lance's face.

Suddenly, Lance's hair swayed in the wind, emitting bursts of sparks like electric shocks.

At that moment, a high-voltage current flowed, burning the leaves near Lance to ashes that fell to the ground... This fight ended in a draw. Kaecilius did not use his full power, and Lance also held back some of his strength.

However, if Kaecilius truly turned to the embrace of Dormammu and abandoned the path of the white Sorcerer to become a black Sorcerer, Lance would not be able to face Kaecilius with his current abilities.

"I need to get the Sling Ring... otherwise, this will be a problem," Lance muttered as he stretched his body and then rotated his neck.

Suddenly, the space in front of Lance trembled.

"...Again?" Lance sighed and pursed his lips. Swiftly, Lance rotated both of his hands. The amulet that had begun to dim suddenly shone again, spinning and forming the symbol of the eight trigrams.

The stable space was cut, and magical sparks flickered rapidly.

The folded empty space opened a circular path.

A figure in a yellow cloak stepped out from behind the magical portal, observing the eight trigrams behind Lance with great interest. With a smile on their face, the figure said, "You truly embody the orthodox teachings of Professor Xu. Speaking of the amulet spell, your abilities have improved significantly since before."

Lance smiled and humbly bowed. "Sorcerer Supreme, you flatter me too much."

Professor Xu is an 'Ancient Sorcerer,' and that is how Professor Xu is referred to in Kamar-Taj. From the perspective of the Ancient Era, Professor Xu should be called a "Magic Purifier."

Interestingly, Professor Xu is not only famous in the world of magic but is also a celebrity in Chinese mythology.

Xandra Xian Xu, or often referred to as Xu Xian—that is the real name of Professor Xu.

In fact, the figure of Professor Xu is not just a reincarnated shepherd but also the legendary White Snake herself.

It is said that Professor Xu, a magic priestess from the Song Dynasty, was a woman who reached a high level of mysticism. After living a long life, Xandra Xian Xu or Xu Xian relinquished her physical body and transformed into a pure spiritual entity. Xu Xian continued her practice in remote mountains.

There are three mountains that serve as Professor Xu's training grounds, where seas of clouds often cover their peaks. Some locals have witnessed what they believed to be the tail of a giant white python rising from the clouds.

This phenomenon sparked rumors that continued to grow, eventually giving birth to the famous "White Snake" legend. The story evolved from distorted false rumors that were processed repeatedly until it became a soul-shaking legend.

The spell-casting skills possessed by Professor Xu reached the highest peak of that era, making her an unmatched figure in the field of mysticism. In addition to being an extraordinary sorceress,

Xu Xian was also a prominent alchemist and immortal skilled in various mystical practices, ranging from talisman purification to alchemy and weapon crafting. Because of her greatness, Xu Xian was awarded the honorary title of "Professor Xu" by the magical community.

However, Professor Xu had habits akin to those of ancient hermits. She often isolated herself for years, sometimes even decades, to deepen her practice.
