Marvel: Transmigrated with Travelling Frog?!

Chapter 207: Chapter 207: The Frog is Back

"Red Queen, how is Anna doing now?"

Gwen, swinging away from Stark Tower, immediately asked about Anna's condition.

The Red Queen's response brought a smile of relief to Gwen's face.

"Don't worry, Miss Gwen. Miss Anna is doing very well, and the Master has returned. He's at home now."

"Alan is back!"

Excited, Gwen picked up her pace, swinging even faster.

---

In the Congress Hall, the vast chamber now stood empty, save for the Secretary of State seated at the head of the room.

Propping his chin on his hands, he seemed lost in thought.

The other members of Congress had already left to hold a press conference.

With nothing more to gain from Odin, they were now eager to claim credit for saving Earth.

The Avengers' heroic deeds in defending against the alien invasion would be reframed as a testament to their wise leadership—a narrative they had spun countless times before with practiced ease.

The Secretary of State, however, remained behind, waiting for something else.

Staring at the satellite phone before him, he sat in silence until it finally rang.

Cautiously, he answered without saying a word, waiting until the voice on the other end uttered the phrase:

"Hail Hydra!"

Who would have thought that the Secretary of State—the second-in-command of the United States—was a Hydra operative?

It spoke volumes about the depth of Hydra's infiltration into the nation's political circles.

The Secretary of State finally broke his silence. "How is the plan progressing?"

"Rest assured, with our support, Professor Connors' plan is proceeding smoothly," the voice replied.

"Several soldier prototypes can now freely control their lizard transformations."

Hearing this, the Secretary of State smirked slightly. At last, some good news.

But what came next made his expression darken.

"However..."

"What? Who taught you to report like this—hesitating and stammering?" he snapped.

It had taken all day to hear something positive, and now his mood was soured again.

"My apologies, sir," the voice responded quickly. "The issue lies with two civilian test subjects."

"What do you mean?"

The voice explained cautiously, "In the 'X-Mutant Project,' led jointly by Professor Connors and our team, most test subjects have died from complications caused by the injected X-gene. However, a pair of twin test subjects seem to be adapting to the mutations brought by the gene."

The Secretary of State's face lit up. "That's excellent news! If successful, we'll have the ability to mass-produce mutants—something Magneto could only dream of."

The "X-Mutant Project" was one of Hydra's long-standing initiatives to transform ordinary humans into mutants.

Not only did they aim to create mutants, but they also planned to brainwash them into becoming Hydra's most formidable soldiers.

Progress had been slow for years, but the arrival of Professor Connors had revolutionized the project.

Now, they had succeeded in creating two mutants. For a moment, the Secretary of State envisioned a future where he commanded an army of Hydra mutants.

"But..." the voice continued, "they can't control their powers. We've had to imprison them for now, letting them adapt to their abilities on their own."

Hearing this, the Secretary of State chuckled. "That's a minor issue. I'll arrange for the most authoritative mutant professor to train these children..."

After a moment's thought, he added, "No, I have an even better plan. Send those two children to me."

Though the caller didn't know the Secretary of State's intentions, Hydra's indoctrination left no room for questioning superiors.

"Understood, sir," came the immediate response.

"I'll make the arrangements right away!"

After hanging up, the Secretary of State immediately dialed another number.

Once the call connected, the Secretary of State said, "Professor Charles, it's time to fulfill our agreement."

On the other end of the line was none other than Professor X of the X-Mansion.

Sitting in his office, Professor X furrowed his brow as he listened.

"You wouldn't let my people join the fight in New York, and now you want me to do something else?" he asked coldly.

Perhaps he was the only one who knew about the Secretary of State's connection to Hydra.

This knowledge came from his powerful telepathic abilities—during a high-society event where they shook hands, Charles uncovered the secret through a mental scan.

After Magneto's recent death and the Brotherhood's disappearance, Charles had feared that the U.S. government might soon turn its attention to persecuting mutants. Desperate, he chose to take a risk and seek help from the Secretary of State, using his knowledge of the latter's secret as leverage.

"Relax, Charles," the Secretary of State said with a smile. "It's nothing too difficult. I have two young mutants here who have just awakened their abilities and can't control them. I need you to teach them how to use their powers."

Charles was momentarily stunned. "That's it?"

He could hardly believe it—it sounded like such a straightforward task.

After all, one of the primary purposes of establishing the X-Mansion was to teach mutants how to properly use their powers. With his telepathic abilities, it was a task he excelled at.

"That's it," the Secretary confirmed, his tone sincere.

Charles hesitated, wary but unable to find a reason to refuse. After all, this was part of their agreement.

"Fine, send them over when you're ready," Charles said at last.

"Deal."

After hanging up, Charles didn't worry about the Secretary pulling any tricks.

With his powerful telepathy, he could detect and counter any scheming. In the realm of mental abilities, no mutant had surpassed him—at least not yet.

Feeling reassured, Charles muttered to himself, "A little fresh blood is always welcome."

It had been a while since the X-Mansion had seen new students, especially now that mutants were under such heavy scrutiny. Most had gone into hiding, trying to avoid trouble.

Turning back to the news broadcast before him, Charles sighed. "Aliens..."

"Perhaps this will buy us some extra time. Or maybe..."

---

At Alan's home, he was in his lab, chin resting on his hand as he stared at two items before him.

One was the Tesseract, and the other was the Mind Scepter.

He had casually brought both back with him when he left earlier.

"What was I thinking, bringing these two things back?" Alan muttered to himself, unsure why he had acted on impulse. He just had a feeling they might be useful.

"Red Queen, study these two items. See if you can discover something from them," Alan instructed.

A holographic projection of the Red Queen appeared beside him. "What should I focus on?" she asked.

After a moment's thought, Alan replied, "Study the Mind Scepter as a potential AI core. For the Tesseract, explore its use in developing a light-speed engine. There should be research on the Tesseract in the U.S. archives. Feel free to dig through their systems to find it."

Alan was envisioning things like Vision, powered by the Mind Stone, or spaceships with light-speed engines.

If anyone else had overheard their conversation, their jaws would have dropped in shock. Alan and the Red Queen spoke of infiltrating U.S. databases as casually as visiting their backyard.

"Understood, Master," the Red Queen said with a nod.

Alan left the lab and was about to relax and wait for Gwen to return when a notification rang in his mind:

Ding!

Your frog is back.

The frog brought back a souvenir from its journey.

Go check it out!

Alan's face lit up with excitement. "That silly frog! Finally remembered his old dad, huh? About time you came home!"

With a thought, he entered the game interface and saw the frog standing at the doorstep.

He clicked on the souvenir icon, and his pupils dilated sharply. "This is..."
