Chapter 16: CHAPTER 16 : MEMORY WIPE

******

When Killian read the now-dead man's mind, he saw memories that were rather unpleasant. He saw his mother, who he thought had gone to a business meeting , selling his now-dead father's companies to the other family members. She sold his legacy to his father's brothers, then she left. This new woman, who he now considered his mother, had abandoned him just like his mother in his past life. "Am I meant to always be alone?" he thought, a pang of sadness and frustration welling up within him.

Killian's mood had darkened, and maybe that's why he thought of wiping everyone's memories instead of just erasing evidence. He was angry, and now, as if to fuel his anger, the Ancient One appeared, trying to stop his means to control his frustration.

The seemingly old yet young-looking bold woman stood in front of him, wearing golden yellow robes like a leader of a cult. "You do understand the consequences of what you were thinking of doing," she asked, her face etched with concern. "Just because you have the ability to influence the memories of others doesn't mean you should," she said.

However, Killian, who was hearing her words, paid little attention to her concerns. At that moment, he was preoccupied with thoughts of how he could possibly survive this dangerous situation. Even those thoughts couldn't mask his frustration as the Ancient One spoke. She was slowly walking closer to Killian in a delicate yet menacing manner.

Before she could continue, Killian released a burst of psychic energy. "Come one step closer, and I will kill everyone in this room with a single thought," he warned, his eyes locked intensely on hers. "No, come one step closer, and I will wipe the memories of everyone in Manhattan," he added, his voice dripping with a cold, calculated menace.

Hearing this, the Ancient One stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes widening in shock. "How can this be?" she thought, her mind racing with the implications. To her knowledge, the only one who possessed an ability that strong was Charles Xavier, and in this timeline, he was still just a child. How could this child, who appeared younger than him, possess an ability that strong?

Even when killian tried to enter the ancient ones mind, she felt a tingle at the back of her head, as if his psychic powers had almost breached her defenses. Now, she knew that the child in front of her wasn't joking with his words. "I will damage those memories to the point that not even that stone around your neck can fix it," he continued, his words sending a shiver down her spine.

The Ancient One was taken aback by Killian's abilities and his ruthless determination. Ever since Killian transmigrated into this world, he had never once thought of it as reality. Even if he received his body's memories, he always felt as if he didn't belong. He didn't know why, but he felt as if everyone in this world was an NPC created by the people of his world. That's why, even if he had just killed somebody for the first time minutes ago, he felt nothing, absolutely nothing.

Now, in order to survive, he would do anything without hesitation. He knew that the Ancient One wouldn't simply come for a talk, which was obvious to him. The woman in front of him was the same woman who let invaders invade Earth, who let Thanos snap his fingers, and she did nothing. But now, that woman was standing in front of him, and he knew that it was one of two things: either one of the people in the club played a major role in the progression of the future, or he affected the future to the point that she came personally to execute him. The second possibility seemed most plausible, because he didn't recognize anyone in the club, but he was sure of one thing: both possibilities led to execution.

The Ancient One looked at him for a moment, then started walking away. "I suggest you don't erase their memories," she said. "I can only allow you to erase the evidence." She opened a portal and stepped inside, then turned her head to look at him. "We will meet again," she said, as the portal closed, leaving Killian to breathe a sigh of relief. Then, suddenly, the mirror dimension started falling, collapsing, and breaking, taking him back to reality instantly. He was breathing loudly, and a smile spread across his face as he realized that he had just faced death.

Walking inside the mansion, Killian was met with a beautiful woman who was sitting on the kitchen chair, drinking what seemed to be brandy. She was wearing a well-tailored suit with a fitted skirt, and her eyes seemed distant, lost in thought. She looked to be on the shorter side, physically, and her eyes were a vivid blue, very piercing and intelligent. Her hair was styled in a classic 1940s style, with waves and curls, and a flattering side part. Her hair color was a deep shade of brunette. Killian immediately knew who it was, for it was the well-known beautiful Peggy Carter, the woman who fell in love with a soon-to-be walking zombie.
