Marvel's Iron Lady

Chapter 63: The Strange Woman

The real Spider-Man inside the Iron Spider suit was ejected by the suit's A.I., Karen, which had determined that Peter was unnecessary ballast.

Peter had never imagined that the suit he wore could eject him like a CD from a drive. He felt a strange force push him out through a crack in the suit's back, leaving him helpless as the gap sealed shut.

Peter hadn't expected to be thrown out, but he knew there was no going back now.

The situation at the prison hadn't improved with the arrival of Stark's Iron Spider suit. He could still hear the distant sounds of gunfire and shouts from both prisoners and guards around the prison.

Weighing the circumstances in his mind, Peter made a very Spider-Man-like decision—a choice that was uniquely his.

Though Miss Stark had told him to observe and learn how the Iron Spider suit worked, Peter Parker would never just stand by while escaped prisoners were causing harm to the guards.

"Sorry, Miss Stark, but I'm going to save people. I'll leave this to you," Peter said, launching a web and swinging toward the nearest gunfire.

Miss Stark heard his words and could only sigh, shaking her head. She continued operating her phone, controlling the suit remotely.

Despite not having a pilot inside, the Iron Spider suit moved as if it were alive, beginning its own actions.

The three hundred miles between Washington D.C. and New York posed no issue, as the Iron Spider suit showed no delay in response, thanks to Stark Industries' superior technology—and the Stark Tower in New York serving as a signal hub.

While Miss Stark's design didn't include Spider-Sense—a "bug" feature of Peter's natural abilities—the suit's predictive algorithms and data analysis enabled a powerful automatic evasion system.

Under Miss Stark's control, the Iron Spider suit displayed a unique combat style that contrasted with the Mark-series armor.

While the Mark suits were primarily designed for strategic support and firepower, the Iron Spider was crafted for close combat, optimized for agility and melee prowess.

Scorpion, with his lower half encased in a bio-mechanical exoskeleton resembling a scorpion, was one of Peter's opponents. His tail, sharp and flexible, was particularly menacing, equipped with a nerve toxin that made him a dangerous adversary.

Miss Stark wasn't entirely sure where these supervillains had come from, but one thing was clear: someone with access to advanced tech was behind it. Even the exoskeleton Scorpion wore was beyond what most could cobble together. Stark herself hadn't perfected neural-linked exoskeleton technology—where had he gotten his?

Scorpion's tail was connected directly to his nervous system, and combined with his metal pincers and lower appendages, he was an aggressive threat.

Fortunately, the four mechanical spider arms on the Iron Spider suit's back were more than capable. They could extend to anchor the suit to the ground, allowing rapid movement and attack.

When necessary, the tips of the metal limbs could reveal hidden blades, designed for slicing.

Golden blades clashed with Scorpion's metal pincers, sparks flying with each impact. Though Scorpion's tech was impressive, the materials Miss Stark had used were far superior.

Thanks to a deal with arms dealer Ulysses Klaue, Miss Stark had obtained Vibranium years ago. What Klaue never realized was that Stark wasn't interested in making weapons—she was interested in studying the molecular structure of Vibranium.

Once her nano-metal technology was refined, she was able to replicate Vibranium's molecular arrangement using nanomaterials.

Thus, the Iron Spider suit's auxiliary weaponry was equipped with Vibranium-tipped blades.

It was clear—Scorpion's exoskeleton couldn't compete with Vibranium. The golden blade sliced through the exoskeleton like a knife through butter.

"Ah—damn it! How dare you! How dare you cut off my tail!" Scorpion screamed as the blade severed his poisonous stinger.

From the pained and distorted expression on Mac Gargan's face, it was evident that the tail was more than just a weapon—it was part of his body, and losing it caused him great pain.

Down below, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents watching the fight burst into cheers, clearly enjoying the action.

For agents accustomed to grueling work, watching the high-tech battle unfold was a much-needed break.

Of course, the events taking place on the ground floor of the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters hadn't escaped the notice of Director Nick Fury.

The Director had left his office at some point and was now standing behind Miss Stark, silently observing.

Miss Stark didn't acknowledge him, nor did she pay much attention to the enraged Scorpion. She casually pressed a blue button labeled "B" on her phone screen.

In response, the Iron Spider suit shot two strands of webbing that wrapped tightly around Scorpion.

Under everyone's watchful gaze, the suit swung Scorpion around and hurled him toward the prison's watchtower.

The webbing snapped mid-swing, but was quickly replaced by a fresh burst of sticky web fluid. In seconds, Scorpion found himself glued to the outer wall of the tower, completely immobilized.

Despite his struggles, the webbing was too strong. He wasn't going anywhere.

The suit's gaze then shifted toward Shocker—and the other remaining villains.

Shocker had already been dealt with earlier. His vibration gauntlets couldn't damage the Iron Spider suit, but they had been annoying enough that Miss Stark had subdued him first.

With the same casual efficiency, she had webbed him up and tossed him onto the tower wall, where he now hung beside Scorpion.

Now, both villains were stuck to the wall, trapped like flies in a web.

"Mr. Herman Schultz, and the rest of you, I'm giving you a chance," Miss Stark's voice echoed through the Iron Spider's speakers, her tone cold.

Even Peter, swinging nearby, couldn't help but glance up at the towering figure in the spotlight.

"If you surrender now, I might be able to get you a reduced sentence."

"But if you insist on continuing this pointless struggle, don't blame me for killing you all."

Rhino, who stood before the Iron Spider, and Electro, hovering nearby with crackling energy, both hesitated.

"You're facing an empty suit of armor. Even if you destroy it, it won't make any difference."

"In other words, if you value your lives, you'd better surrender and await your fate."

Though her words were commanding and confident, they sounded far from something a lawful good hero would say.

Not only were the watching S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stunned, but even Nick Fury, standing behind Miss Stark, seemed taken aback.

"Damn it, Herman! Can't you think of something?!" Scorpion yelled to Shocker, stuck to the wall beside him.

The high winds blew harshly across the island prison, making their eyes water as they clung to the tower.

"Damn it! What do you want me to do? My vibration gauntlets are stuck on my back, idiot!"

Shocker wanted to escape too, but as he said, his weapons were stuck behind him. Even if he activated them, it would blow a hole in the wall and probably shatter his own spine in the process.

Electro slowly descended, the golden arcs of electricity around his body fading. He approached Rhino, whispering something to him, and after a brief pause, Rhino relented.

"We... we were forced into this. Someone has control over us. We had no choice," Maxwell Dillon—formerly an electrical engineer at Oscorp—admitted with a heavy sigh.

But before he could reveal more, a sudden mechanical noise echoed from below.

A large metallic claw burst through the platform, pulling up a figure that emerged into view.

It was a woman with chestnut-brown hair, her pale face marred by visible exhaustion.

She wasn't unattractive, but the dark circles under her eyes made her look worn out.

Beneath her dark-rimmed glasses, her greenish-brown eyes revealed a hint of laziness and disinterest.

She wore a white lab coat—like something from a science lab or hospital. But the most striking feature was the four massive mechanical arms extending from her back, reminiscent of the Iron Spider's legs.

The mechanical arms, a blend of silver and black, were lined with intricate neural circuitry.

"As expected, trash will always be trash—useless to the end," the woman muttered, her lazy gaze becoming slightly more aggressive.

Despite her clear disdain, she showed no desire to fight. With a flick of her mechanical arms, she began to leave.

The Iron Spider suit silently watched her departure, not making a single move to stop her.

Back at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Miss Stark observed the scene on her tablet, falling into a long, thoughtful silence.

"J.A.R.V.I.S., access S.H.I.E.L.D.'s database and identify that woman," she ordered, completely ignoring the fact that Fury was standing right behind her.

"No need. I know who she is," Fury said, his voice low.

"Olivia Octavius."
