Mermaids: Tales of Arcadia

It's been a day since Pearl discovered that she was a Mermaid and is still shocked of what her Aunt Crystal told her

Pearl's house

Pearl is running away from the Vortex queen but reaches a dead end

Vortex queen: no where to run, now you shall suffer the same fate as your father

Pearl: No! No! Please don't!

The Vortex queen almost stabs Pearl before she wakes up

Pearl: (panting) phew, just a dream

Pearl looks at her necklace on the night stand before picking it up

Pearl: I still can't believe that I'm a Mermaid

Pearl puts on her necklace

Marina: Pearl, breakfast is ready!

Pearl: coming mom!

Pearl runs down the steps for breakfast

Marina: Pearl, is everything alright?

Pearl: with what, mom?

Marina: well you were acting a little strange yesterday

Pearl: I was just tired mom

Marina: because of what?

Pearl: uh, schoolwork

Marina: Pearl, you once made a solar panel capable of powering a car In 2 hours when you were 13, do you really expect me to believe that you're struggling with schoolwork?

Pearl: okay, the truth is... I've been practicing with the school swim team

Marina: Pearl, you can't swim

Pearl: I did say practicing

Marina: Pearl, do you remember when I told you how your father died?

Pearl: yeah, you said that he drowned saving us both

Marina: exactly, I don't want what happened to your father to happen to you

Pearl: mom, I'm a great swimmer

Marina: Pearl I trust you with my life but I still think that your lying so if I Come to your practice and see you swim I'll let this whole thing go but if you can't swim you have to tell me truth

Pearl: okay mom (whispers) what am I getting myself into?

Marina: what was that?

Pearl: nothing I gotta go meet Lilly at the Coffee shop

Marina: okay be back soon

Pearl: I will, love you bye

As Pearl leaves Marina sees her necklace

Marina: was that...? (Chuckles) No It couldn't have been

Coffee shop

Pearl: I still can't believe I'm a Mermaid

Lilly: yeah, it's so cool

Pearl: but I'm not a fan of the fighting an evil ocean witch

Lilly: are you kidding? I dream of taking down evil monsters and being regarded as a hero

Pearl: you do it then

Lilly: did you forget that the necklace only works for you and your mom

Pearl: yeah, it's just that I like living

Lilly: you know I think we need more details on this Vortex queen

Pearl: what do you mean?

Lilly: like why does she want your necklace? What does she gain from it? Was she good In the past but turned evil? I want answers

Pearl: well we could go to the beach and ask my aunt crystal

Lilly: okay let's go, right after My cappuccino is ready

Meanwhile at the Vortex Queen's lair while she's watching Pearl with her crystal ball

Vortex queen: so she's going to the beach again then I'll send a monster their to get the necklace for me

The Vortex queen grabs an octopus and turns it into a monster

Vortex queen: now go my creature and destroy Pearl Oceanwing

30 minutes later

The beach

Lilly: okay, call your aunt

Pearl: I can't there are too many people here

Lilly: so?

Pearl: don't you think that it would be a little unusual for a teenage girl to be calling a Mermaid?

The Vortex Queen's monster appears

Lilly: not as unusual as that

Pearl: AHHHH!!!

The beach people run away In fear at the sight of the monster and as Pearl and Lilly try to run away the monster grabs Pearl

Lilly: Pearl!

Lilly throws a rock at the monster's eye

Lilly: hey ugly, leave my friend alone

The monster throws Pearl In the ocean before grabbing Lilly

Pearl: Lilly!

Lilly: Pearl, don't worry about me just run!

Pearl necklace starts to glow and she turns into a Mermaid

Pearl: alright time to save my best friend

Pearl tries to swim but keeps on splashing the water

Pearl: oh right... I can't swim

Pearl's necklace glows then her whole body glows and she starts swimming

Pearl: hey I can swim! Now time to save my best friend!

Pearl swims at super fast speeds as she punches one of the monster's tentacles then the monster falls and dropping Lilly

Lilly: AHHHHHH!!!

just before Lilly falls in the ocean, Pearl jumps in the air and catches her

Lilly: phew! Thanks, Girl

Pearl: no problem

Pearl puts Lilly back on land before the monster gets up and is now angry

Pearl: looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of bed

The monster tries to grab Pearl but she's too fast and runs around the monster until it's dizzy

Pearl: all right, let's finish this

Pearl runs around the monster faster creating a giant whirlpool that sends the monster flying far away

Pearl: (exhausted) phew! So long squid face!

Lilly gets In the ocean

Lilly: Girl, that was awesome!

Pearl: thanks but it was exhausting

Crystal: perhaps you need more training

Pearl looks behind her and sees her aunt Crystal

Pearl: Crystal?! what're you doing here?!

Crystal: I've been here the whole time

Pearl: wait, so could've taken care of the monster easily without me doing anything?!

Crystal: yes, but you wouldn't have learned anything

Pearl: learned what?

Crystal: you learned that you're strong and smart enough to save people, take your friend for example you saved her life

Pearl: hmm, I guess I did

Crystal: so do you think that you can defeat The Vortex Queen?

Pearl: yes, I can do it

Crystal: then your training starts tomorrow morning here at the beach

Pearl: I'll be there

Meanwhile at The Vortex Queen's lair the monster from before lands at the entrance

Vortex Queen: you useless pathetic creature! you had one job to do! But don't worry, you won't fail me again

The Vortex Queen stabs the monster before draining it's life and killing it

Vortex Queen: the next monster I create will be far more powerful and get rid of that little niece of mine
