MHA: A system of whimsy

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Sensor

Having spent the glasses and absorbed the scarlet haze, I didn't feel any special changes, except that my head started to hurt a little, but then...

— Hmm? Wow...

The world before my eyes blurred for a moment, and then the colors of the surroundings changed.

The quirk manifested itself without my participation...

Everything was in black and white, but overall, almost the same as before. I could see about as far, although not as detailed due to the loss of colors, but that's not the main thing... There were still colors and they affected moving objects, especially living ones.

Concentrating, I passed my "vision" through the room and noticed my brother's silhouette. It wasn't perfectly clear, and I couldn't make out his face, but I knew for sure from his "aura" that it was Katsuki. I can't describe how it happened, I just knew it was him, and not because I knew where he was in the first place. It was more like some kind of extrasensory sensation. His silhouette was moving, as if it was covered in some kind of energy, which was generally different from my own, there was some unique feature in it that distinguished him from other people.

I could even make out a little of his surroundings, just by the reflections of this "energy" and thus understand where he was and what he was doing.

Basically, the quirk didn't really stress me out, although I did feel a little strain on my brain, especially as I went further...

One kilometer, two, three, five... I couldn't go any further, it was too hard and my head was starting to hurt. That was my maximum, but interestingly, with that I could also control my surroundings and, of course, I could distinguish the "auras" of my neighbors and several acquaintances. All the people for the next five kilometers were in the palm of my hand, many of whom I had never met, which is understandable, of course.

After a little more practice, I reduced the radius to about a kilometer. I could relatively control this level and even move calmly, do my own thing. Of course, I still need to get used to it and I'm unlikely to spread the power of the quirk so far on ordinary days.

In general, now I could track all living objects at a distance of a kilometer every second, and simultaneously. Of course, not pointwise, but I would definitely notice the sudden appearance of a new aura or the disappearance of a certain one, and even more so, approaching or following. And the auras were always different, mine and Katsuki's were noticeably stronger than others, probably because we developed our quirks and were stronger than ordinary people. There were many of them within five kilometers. So I definitely won't miss the enemy's approach. I think even invisible ones won't be a problem for me. I'll be able to see for myself at the academy.

Of course, I could switch my attention at any moment and see the target more precisely. Not ideal, of course, but you could still understand a lot from the silhouette, especially from its "signature". If I've seen it before, I definitely won't confuse it with anyone else.

In fact, my quirk was not only perfect for reconnaissance and environmental control, but could also help in identifying hidden threats and even spies. I'm not sure how it would fare against Toga, but it's definitely worth checking.

I think if I can develop this quirk, I will increase the scope of sensory. I can't say for sure about the rest... I still need to check if something can interfere with my perception. At the moment, I haven't found anything like that, but who knows Tartarus's defense methods. If I can overcome even them... It will be interesting.

The only weakness is the black and white environment. To get the colors back, I had to turn off the quirk, but I don't think it's worth it. I need practice, so the colors can wait.

As for the load on the brain... No problem. I think I can even fight, and with my eyes closed. Now I'm not afraid of any smoke or other interference at all. A nice bonus.

However, it was still a bit tiring, I think I'll lower the radius and try to get used to it. After all, it's a completely different type of perception and my undeveloped body was not yet fully ready to switch to it.

Of course, I had no intention of feeling sorry for myself. Training would fix everything.

I decided to save the rest of the system points. Since I hadn't screwed up with the quirk choice, there was no point in spending more. Of course, if you don't count DNA Expansion, it was a must. Well, after acquiring it, there wasn't much else to buy.

In the end, I was left with twenty thousand. If nothing unpleasant happens and everything goes as it should, then I think I will be able to replenish my supplies for the training camp and even get Teleportation. Then we will play. With such power, I will not have to worry much about my actions.

By the way, today, and in general over many days at the academy, I got a lot of tasks of the same type... Concerning the girls, of course. There were no additions today, except for Lady Mountain. I saw her on the podium.

Apparently, it is necessary to meet the target directly. After all, I have already seen this heroine on TV, but I did not receive the task. Well, I will know...

When should I implement all this? After the festival, I planned to take care of Momo, and then choose another target and get two or three more girls around the Training Camp, while deciding how to keep an eye on them.

Internship?

Hmm... Sounds like a good option.

Anyway, I've sorted out the intelligence more or less, now I'll probably choose the Teleportation quirk, and then we'll see... Maybe Dispersion? Or Chisaki's quirk? Again, depending on the circumstances.

I practiced until almost one o'clock in the morning, and then I got too tired and decided to sleep. I'll continue tomorrow... And I need to sort out my sweet Yaoyorozu already...

Since we had two days off, I didn't waste that time, but trained. Maybe all the sissies needed a rest, but I calmly enjoyed the rainy weather in the nearby forest.

What's good about such training? Fresh air and silence, of course. I've been addicted to this since childhood, although mosquitoes were annoying... Fortunately, they didn't bother me in the rain, but after... The best option would be to retreat.

I've had cases...

But learning and training were a pleasure. For example, I made a hundred or two explosions, read a couple of chapters in the textbook while resting, and then got back to work. The constant change of "loads" increased my efficiency and in fact I replaced rest with useful work. Well, and then I went swimming... In the rain, this is especially refreshing.
