LIGHTNOVELWORLD Chapter 17: Chapter 16: Upgrades and Punishments (Or Rewards?)
A/N: I have made quite a few personal changes to (mainly) skills. So, for future reference, if you see a skill mentioned at a different price to what it may have been listed as in a previous chapter, it's because I either 1. Underestimated how much LP the MC would earn, 2. Decided that the skill was worth much more, 3. Simply decided it was better to make it more expensive for the sake of the story
^ As I said, it was MAINLY for skills, so other changes can include things in the shop and more. These changes will be seen as normal to the MC, as if these changes were always there to begin with, so don't worry about any plot holes
Any suggestions on Incubus Skills MC can buy or earn from quests?
Ideas/Suggestions for Pills and Other Quest Rewards? (They can range anywhere from pretty weak; to decent/mid; to strong but not completely overpowered; and pretty overpowered) These rewards can be items, skills, abilities, etc

With the absence of Mitsuki Bakugo, Izuku and Inko Midoriya laid comfortably in the boy's bed, warming each other up with their bare bodies underneath the blanket, "Honey..." On top of Izuku's head rested the tired dragon, which Inko had her eye on as she questioned
"Have you decided on a name yet?" To which Izuku nodded his head slightly, raising a finger to scratch the soft cheek of the dragon, "Gyoowwww~..." She yawned, rubbing her cheek up against Izuku's finger with tired eyes
"Umbria... Her name will be Umbria" He declared with a warm smile on his face, which twisted into one of shock as a system message appeared alongside a small flash from the dragon's body after the mental click of the 'Y' button
[Mark 'Umbria' as the User's Familiar?] [Y/N]
[The Familiar Tab has been added to the User's system...]
['Umbria' will now undergo evolution...] A few seconds passed when the light dimmed, revealing Umbria's change: Her reptilian-like tail became much more thin and pointed at the end, resembling a demon; her yellow eyes became red, but her black sclera and slitted-eyes remained; finally, her pointy ears turned white except for the ends which remained black, as well as parts of its fur being white which made its black and white fur kind of resemble yin and yang in Izuku's eyes (A/N: I don't have a photo as I came up with this from the top of my head, so this is all imagination, sorry)
"Woah... she's beautiful" Izuku heard Inko gasp, and he couldn't help but agree as Umbria jumped from his head onto his chest with a whole lot of energy and enthusiasm, 'Let's hope she gets tired and sleeps soon' He sweat-dropped in thought
[Evolution Complete... Check 'Umbria's Status?] [Y/N] He went wide-eyed, 'I didn't think familiar would have a Status as well... would they have stats like I do, or is it different?' Well, we'll see [Y]

Izuku couldn't help but blink a few times and look at the invisible camera and think to himself, as if he was speaking to an audience, 'Well that's fucking broken and unfair' Before turning his attention back to Inko and Umbria, running his hand delicately through the familiar's fur/scales, "I'm surprised you're not asking 'what the hell just happened?' or something" He chuckled as he spoke to Inko who simply sighed
"I've already gotten use to all this crazy stuff the past few days and weeks..." As she spoke, she rubbed Izuku's cheek and looked up at him with a loving smile, "Plus, our life being a little crazy just means it will be more fun, no?"
"Fuck..." Izuku leant forward and whispered in her ear, "If Bri wasn't awake, I'd show you 'crazy'..." He erotically mumbled, the two looking at the dragon just to see it innocently tilt its head in confusion, "Kyu~...?" Before turning back to each other and breaking into a small laughter
And so, the Midoriya family, with a new addition to the household: Umbria, slept the night away peacefully.
Well, before doing so, Izuku, still awake, opened up his Status and Skills, 'While everyone's asleep, I want to spend my SP and LP' With that thought, he decided to use all of his SP to begin with. When doing so, as always, he decided to prioritise his Intelligence Stat for the MP:

(A/N: I've changed the HP Regen to '1% per 20 VIT', because I didn't realise how much SP MC would be getting - whoops)
'Now for my skills...' Izuku rubbed his chin in thought, looking at his list of skills. Ultimately, he decided to max it his [Lying] skill to Level 5 which ended up costing 56,000 LP, 'Lying can always come in useful - think about the long-term investment...' [LP: 502,645 -> 446,645]
Deciding that he'd spent more than needed on Passive Skills, he looked at the main Skills he wanted/needed to upgrade:
[Incubus Eye Lv. 2 (Active) - By making eye contact with a target, the user is able to Maximise their Arousal. This skill also allows the user to see information/weaknesses, Trust/Love/Lust Stats, and a woman's sexual targets (Their weak spots, their kinks, etc). This skill also grants Hypnosis, which gets stronger with the user's Charm Stat. Cost: 45MP, and 9MP/Sec for Hypnosis] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 20,000 LP]
[Renewal Taekwondo Lv. 2 (Passive/Active) - A powerful type of martial art developed in modern South Korea which emphasises in strong, linear kicks. When activated, User gains +20 Strength and Dexterity and the ability to use 'Bo-Bup'] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 40,000 LP]
[Telekinesis Lv. 3 (Active) - The user gains the ability to telekinetically control nearby objects around 500kg. The user has also gained the special ability of Telepathy, which allows him to communicate with people through their mind. Range: 50m. Cost: 10MP/Sec] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 50,000 LP]
[Portal Creation Lv. 2 (Active) - The user gains the ability to create and open portals to anywhere they've been before. Cost: 800MP per Portal] (+) [Cost: 50,000 LP], 'Wait a minute-' In sudden realisation, Izuku opened up his inventory and, as expected, he had found and taken out the [Quirk Awakening Pill] which appeared in his hand
But then, he looked at the people he was sleeping in bed with, and returned it in his inventory, 'If the awakening is anything like Inko's... it's best if I do it tomorrow morning, when everyone's awake and not close together like this'
[Eyes of Sin Lv. 1 (Active/Passive) - Passively improves the user's Vision and Perception the higher the level. When activated, the user is able to see 1 Second into the future. Cost: 500MP] (+) [Cost: 30,000 LP]
He'd like to upgrade his [Destruction Lv. 2] skill some more, but after seeing the price of the upgrade being [1,000,000 LP], '...Yeah, let's just ignore that for now'
[Stopwatch Lv. 1 (Active) - With this skill, the user is able to stop time. However, people with strong willpower will be able to fight against if not completely resist the skill. Cost: 1,000MP/Sec] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 200,000 LP]
As for his most recent skills, [Incubus Wings] and [Mind Reading], Izuku simply decided that he wanted to upgrade his old skills rather than these two.
Although there was certainly 'more useful' skills, Izuku decided to upgrade his [Incubus Eye Lv. 2] to [Incubus Eye Lv. 5] for the rather large cost of 170,000 LP. Frankly, he found it pretty weird how some Skill Upgrade Costs would double, but others wouldn't, but he wasn't one to complain if it meant it was cheaper for him
[Incubus Eye Lv. 2 -> 5 (Active) - By making eye contact with a target, the user is able to Maximise their Arousal. This skill also allows the user to see information/weaknesses, Trust/Love/Lust Stats, and a woman's sexual targets (Their weak spots, their kinks, etc). This skill also grants Hypnosis, which gets stronger with the user's Charm Stat and the higher the level the skill. He then upgraded [Renewal Taekwondo Lv. 2] to [Renewal Taekwondo Lv. 4] which cost 120,000 LP
[Renewal Taekwondo Lv. 2 -> 4 (Passive/Active) - A powerful type of martial art developed in modern South Korea which emphasises in strong, linear kicks. When activated, User gains +20 -> 40 Strength and Dexterity and the ability to use 'Bo-Bup' -> and Jin Mori's 'Blue Dragon Kick/Twin-Dragon Kick'] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 40,000 -> 160,000 LP] [LP: 276,645 -> 156,645]
Finally, with the 'little' LP he had left, he decided to upgrade [Telekinesis Lv. 3] to [Telekinesis Lv. 5] and boy was it worth the 150,000 LP [LP: 156,645 -> 6,645]
[Telekinesis Lv. 3 -> 5 (Active) - The user gains the ability to telekinetically control nearby objects around 500 -> 10,000kg. The user has also gained the special ability of Telepathy, which allows him to communicate with people through their mind -> Increase/Multiply the gravity within 100m around him up to 5x, and Manipulate Wind. Range: 50m -> 1km. Cost: 10MP/Sec -> + Varies for Gravity Increase and Wind Manipulation] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 50,000 -> 200,000 LP] Now, the boy could manipulate objects/people and wind with his mind, as well as increase gravity like a walking, talking and breathing humanoid gravity chamber from Dragon Ball, 'I'm so overpowered, I love it! Thank you, system!'
With his new upgrades, Izuku entered a beautiful sleep and dreamed like never before - the life of a handsome man with wealth, power, and women sure was amazing

The next morning, Thursday (7th December), Izuku was awoken by a cute and familiar face, "Kyuu~" Umbria, producing a sound reminiscent of a cat's 'Meow', nuzzled her face against Izuku's, tickling him with her fur
"Haha..." Izuku snickered quietly so as to not wake up Inko, sitting himself up as Umbria jumped up onto his head from his shoulder after licking his face, "Good morning, Bri" He smiled, rubbing the adorable creature's cheek, "Gyoohh~!" She squealed as Izuku planted a small peck on Inko's cheek [LP: 6,645 -> 6,646] before walking over to his closet where he took out his school clothes and got changed into them
'Let's go downstairs for this one' With Umbria remaining on top of his head, where she would probably try and remain for the rest of the day, Izuku headed to the kitchen and took out the [Quirk Awakening Pill] which he quickly swallowed in one gulp
*Brrrr~* The air around him began to vibrate, a black and white light radiating off of him which gave the impression of the vast and unexplored place known as 'Space'. After a minute passed, the awakening was complete and successful, 'Holy...' Closing and opening his hands repeatedly a few times, Izuku looked at the new description of his awakened quirk
[Wormhole Creation Lv. 1 (Active) - The user gains the ability to create and open wormhole to anywhere in the world, as well as anything within the user's line of sight. Caution: Though the wormholes are partially concealed, its energy may still be sensed. Cost: 1,000MP per Portal] (+) [Upgrade Cost: 1,000,000 LP]
At that moment, Izuku took his phone out of his pocket and opened up the internet where he searched up 'American Landmarks'. Though he was surprised that the Statue of Liberty still existed in this world, that wasn't what mattered as the boy materialised a wormhole.
Much like its pre-evolution, the portal kept its black colour (A/N: Correct me if I'm wrong about its colour, it's been a while). But rather than being a 2-D circle like before, the wormhole looked dug-in and endless like a tunnel, and even had some cracks coming off of it as if the existence of the wormhole was breaking space and time itself (Technically, it was). In Izuku's eyes, it looked similar to the Ultra Wormholes in Pokemon Sun and Moon, but black in colour and more space-like
Stepping inside the portal, with an excited Umbria atop his head exclaiming, "Gyeooowhh~!", Izuku was astonished to find himself atop the Statue of Liberty, looking down upon America from above, 'Shit!' Realising he was in his school uniform and his face uncovered, he hurriedly jumped back into the wormhole and re-appeared in his kitchen
Hopefully there wouldn't be any headlines along the lines of "Wormhole appears in America! Potential Villain Attack?" or "Kid from Japan found to be stood on top of The Statue of Liberty! Potential Declaration of War?" any time soon, or rather, at all!
"Well, as fun as that was, it's time to go school now" Grabbing Umbria from the top of his head, Izuku pulled her down and brought her in eye-level with him, "Which means, you have to go inside my bag if you want to come with me, Bri"
"Gyoaww..." Umbria pouted, tears welling in her eyes that looked deep into Izuku's eyes, "No! Bad!" Izuku wagged his index finger, furrowing his eyebrows, "As cute as you are, I'm not trying to explain the reason I've brought a dragon to school, and it sitting on my head! So you've got to get in my bag if you want to come with me" He berated like a father telling off their child
"Kyuph!" With an annoyed huff, Umbria smacked her paw against Izuku's forehead before jumping out of his hands onto his shoulder, biting his neck which felt more likely a tickle than anything before jumping into his bag with crossed arms
"Haaa..." Zipping his bag shut, Izuku sighed before leaving the house and closing the door behind him, walking to school, 'Now I can't pop up to school through a portal anymore, how sad' After walking a few metres, Izuku came to a stop and looked at his list of skills
"..." His lips curled into a large smile

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Soaring through the sky with large, black wings sprouted from his lower back, Izuku screamed in a mixture of joy and fear from how high up in the sky he was, adrenaline getting the best of him as his heart pumped at a worrying speed (A/N: Looks like Ulquiorra's Wings)
After what little time of flying at full speed he had, Izuku retracted his wings and fell from the sky towards Kijimi Junior High which was now in sight. With his body straight as if he was standing on air, Izuku descended towards the ground at blinding speeds, his face calm as his hands rested in his pockets. As he was about to collide with the floor, a green aura covered his body which slowed him down, making him land coolly on his two feet [MP: 3,900 -> 90/4,900]
Catching himself with his [Telekinesis], Izuku couldn't help but smirk to himself, 'Holy shit, I felt so cool just now!'
"Hey, green-haired kid!" Hearing someone directing their voice towards him, Izuku turned around to see a man dressed in a policeman's uniform, "Was that your quirk that you used to fly and jump down from the sky just now?" The man asked sternly with a small frown, his arms crossed as he observed Izuku's calm demeanour
Activating his [Lying Lv. MAX] skill, Izuku simply replied, "Huh? What flying quirk? I just got here, sir, I didn't see anyone fly" He shrugged with an innocent look, startling the officer
"Oh... really now?" He asked, Izuku nodding in response, "Th-That's my bad then, kid... don't do drugs, okay!?" He advised as he walked away in slight embarrassment
'Wow, that skill is WAY too overpowered' Izuku noted to himself, happy with the LP he spent on the [Lying] skill before ultimately walking what little distance he had to get to school

"Hey! You kept your word!" Walking over to his homeroom desk, Izuku was welcomed by a happy Monoma who sat at the desk beside him, "I told you I'd come in today" Bumping fists with the blonde boy, Izuku sat himself down and inserted his bag in the small compartment underneath the desk, opening his bag slightly to allow air for Umbria, 'Shh' Izuku brought his index finger to his lips and told the little dragon to remain silent while in class
'Kyuph!' With puffed cheeks, Umbria turned her head and began to sleep in Izuku's bag, blatantly ignoring him, 'What a tsundere' He sighed, 'The only thing that could make this worse is if she turns into a loli'
"You alright?" Monoma asked out of concern of his friend, his voice low as the door to the classroom slid open, their homeroom teacher, Zaten Kakumei, entering the room with a distressed look
"Yeah, just tired" Izuku replied, Monoma starting at him with an annoyed look, "You slept in and decided not to come in yesterday, and YOU'RE complaining about being tired?"
As the boys entered a small back-and-forth, their conversation was disrupted by Zaten speaking up, "Before I start homeroom..." His eyes looked over at Izuku and Monoma, the blonde boy's body tensing a little at the hard stare, "Midoriya-kun, Monoma-kun... you've been called to the Principal's Office" He announced
"Alright/O-Okay, Kakumei-Sensei!" Compared to Izuku's restful and composed self, Monoma almost tumbled over his chair in a panic at the surprising call out from the Principal. So as to not leave her by herself, Izuku took his bag which contained Umbria, urging Monoma to do the same as they left their class
"W-What do you think we're being called in for?" Monoma asked with a slight stutter, his voice shaky as they walked over to the Principal's Office
"Why else? It's obviously for the fight on the rooftop with the Kazumas and their friends" Izuku answered. As the Principal's office was on the same floor as the second-year classrooms, it didn't take them long to get there where they saw the 2nd and 3rd years involved in the rooftop fights
While the Kazuma's friends avoided eye contact with Izuku and Monoma out of fear, Owada (The 2nd Year Kazuma) couldn't help but glare angrily at the pair, 'Ballsy, I'll give him that... or plain stupid'. As for Josuke (The 3rd Year Kazuma), Izuku was surprised to see eyes of... admiration? Something akin to a junior paying respect to their senior within a gang
"Come in" The Principal's commanding voice beckoned the students to enter, so they did. Izuku and Monoma were the last to enter and take a seat in the office where the seated, angry Principal came into view. Standing beside him was Chisato Hasegawa, the School Nurse, who looked at Izuku with a sad frown much to the boy's confusion
"I'm sure you already know why I called you here... so I'll get straight to it" The Principal stated abruptly, spinning around on his chair to face the large projector screen behind him, a video beginning to play with the click of a button from the small remote in his hand. The video which was played on the screen was a recorded video of Izuku's little fight with the 3rd years, and Monoma being held as a mini hostage by Owada. After that video ended, a camera-recording of the fight Izuku and Monoma had with Owada and his 2nd year friends played, ending with Monoma defeating the boys with his copied quirks, "Care to explain what that was? Any of you?" The Principal began to interrogate, his tone particularly angry as his gaze passed everyone except Izuku and Monoma
The 3rd Years, Owada, and his friends remained silent, "I didn't think so..." The Principal hissed, glancing over at Izuku and Monoma, his stare lightening as he asked, "Either of you care to explain the story behind those videos?"
With a nod, Izuku began to speak, "The second video took place after second period, if I'm not wrong, where Owada Kazuma and his friends came to the rooftop to bully my now-friend, Neito Monoma" He pat the blonde boy's back, easing his obvious worry, "After throwing his food and earphones off the rooftop, which is already bad by itself, Owada went to hit my friend with a baseball bat, which would've caused a lot of damage - possibly permanent, which would be very bad for someone aspiring to be a hero.
Seeing this, I got in the way and stopped it from happening with my quirk - twice. Owada then sends his friends after me, so I decide to knock them out with his own wooden bat, as I probably would've done more damage without it. And then, the rest happened" He explained, the Principal nodding in acknowledgement of Izuku's story, "As for the first video, although I'm not sure what happened before this, Josuke, Owada and their pals barged into our class after 3rd period, where they mildly threatened us and challenged us at the rooftop. We got there, and I fought with the 3rd Years. During this, Owada snuck up behind Monoma and almost choked him out, but paid the price for it"
"And after that?" The Principal asked, "Uhh... the conscious people took the unconscious one's to the Nurse's Office" Izuku answered, looking at Chisato who decided to speak up with a small pout, "Where you lied to me about what happened"
'Ah, so she's here because she's technically, but not really, part of this whole thing?' Izuku sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, standing up out of his seat as he respectfully bowed a little, "I'm sorry for lying to you, Hasegawa-sensei" He then raised himself, and scratched his cheek awkwardly, "But I wasn't exactly going to say 'We fought on the rooftop and we brought the aftermath to your room', heheh..." He chuckled, the woman sighing in response
"I guess you're right... I accept your apology, Midoriya-kun" Chisato said with a smile, Izuku sitting back down with a relieved sigh.
"You boys have anything to say after hearing all that?" The Principal asked as he glanced at the Kazumas and their friends, Owada going to stand up but being held back and silenced by his older brother, Josuke, who stood up and bowed, "Everything Midoriya-san's said is undeniably true, and I accept full responsibility for what happened"
After some hardcore brotherhood between Josuke and his friends, which even Izuku and Monoma couldn't help but admire, the Principal cleared his throat and spoke up, "As nice as that speech was... you will all be suspended for an indefinite amount of time" They accepted their punishment, Owada smiling, "You, Owada Kazuma, however, will be expelled" His smile dropped, slamming the table in anger
"WHAT!?-" He glared at the Principal, who remained still but scared the boy silent as an ominous aura emitted from his body which was aimed at Owada who almost pissed himself on the spot, being forced back down to his seat by his older brother seated beside him, "Expulsion. Do I make myself clear?" Mute, Owada nodded at his punishment
Izuku and Monoma looked at each other and smiled, "You two aren't going unpunished" The Principal stated, looking at Chisato, "Care to read the injuries of the boys that were at the hospital?" With a nod, Chisato began to read out all the broken bones that were given to the boys who fought Izuku, and then the injuries that Monoma inflicted on the boys he fought,
"Neito Monoma, you will receive 10 Hours of School Service starting today" Monoma nodded, smiling as his punishment wasn't too bad, "Izuku Midoriya, you will receive 50 Hours of School Service starting today" Seeing the green-haired boy's confused gaze, the Principal added, "Monoma will explain what it is once you're out of my office.
Monoma, your service will start after school, where you'll be required to clean the toilets. Midoriya, your service will also start after school, and you'll be assisting Hasegawa-sensei and other sensei's who need you help around the school" The Principal explained, Izuku looking at the teacher who looked back at him with a small smile, waving at him, "All of you are dismissed, your punishments will begin tomorrow, except for Monoma and Midoriya"

A/N: Although I said I would speed it up a little, I'm kind of enjoying writing this little middle school arc, so it might take a while to get to U.A. Though, I'll try to get there by Chapter 30 (If I get that far, let's not jynx it)
