Chapter 1: Neito Monoma

The hallways of UA Academy buzzed with life, reflecting the energy of the students who filled them. Sunlight streamed through the tall, wide windows lining the corridors, casting a warm glow on the polished floors. The faint murmur of conversations and footsteps filled the air as students in their signature uniforms of dark blue jackets and gray pants moved about. Some leaned against the pale cream-colored walls, chatting with friends, while others hurried past, their bags bouncing lightly on their backs.

Among the throng walked Neito Monoma, his blond hair impeccably combed to one side, framing his sharp features and icy blue eyes. His appearance exuded a natural charm, enhanced by his upright posture and self-assured demeanor. The uniform he wore fit perfectly, emphasizing his athletic build, while a neatly strapped bag hung over his shoulder. A faint, almost smug smile lingered on his face as he strode through the hall, his thoughts keeping him company.

"I am Neito Monoma, a student at UA Academy—the most prestigious hero academy in Japan. Joining UA's hero course may seem like a simple feat to outsiders, but only the best make it here. And among the best, I have secured my place in Class 1-B—a path as rigorous as it is rewarding."

His thoughts continued as he passed a group of three girls chatting near a classroom door. They noticed him immediately. One nudged the others, and all three waved at him enthusiastically.

Monoma blinked, hesitated for a moment, then offered a charming smile and a small wave in return before walking on.

"He's really handsome, isn't he?" one of the girls whispered as they watched him leave.

"Too bad he's a first-year," another sighed.

"How do you know that?"

"I did my research."

"You never miss a chance, do you?"

The conversation faded behind him, leaving Monoma amused but focused. His gaze drifted to the large windows, where the blue sky stretched endlessly, dotted with fluffy white clouds.

"It's been about a month since I joined this academy. There's not a single thing I dislike about it. In fact, I've grown to enjoy the company of my classmates. Every day here feels like an adventure."

Monoma's steps slowed as he reached the familiar sign indicating his destination: Class 1-B. He straightened his posture, placed a hand on the door, and opened it with a cheerful declaration.

"Good morning!"

The response was immediate. Nearly every voice in the room chimed back with greetings, filling the air with warmth. As Monoma stepped inside, his attention was quickly drawn to Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, who bounded over with a wide grin and fists clenched with excitement.

"Monoma!" Tetsutetsu's metallic teeth gleamed as he raised a fist. "Perfect timing! Copy my quirk right now and let's trade some punches. I swear, my iron density's better than ever today!"

Monoma raised an unimpressed hand, firmly pushing Tetsutetsu's face away. "Is that how you greet a classmate at eight in the morning? Have some decency."

Tetsutetsu merely laughed, unfazed, and Monoma moved past him, his attention caught by a quiet figure sitting at her desk. Kendo Itsuka, with her vibrant orange hair and striking greenish-blue eyes, glanced up as he passed. Her expression softened with a hint of surprise, perhaps noticing his uncharacteristic silence. Their eyes met briefly, a wordless exchange that seemed to stretch longer than it truly did.

Before Monoma could react, Pony Tsunotori, her golden hair bouncing and her petite frame practically skipping, leaned close to his ear.

"Speechless because of Kendo-san's beauty? I get it," she teased in a singsong voice. "If I were a guy, I'd fall for her too."

Monoma closed his eyes with a dramatic sigh, clearly exasperated. He resumed his walk toward his seat without a word. Pony pouted, hands on her hips.

"Don't you think romantically about anything? You're in high school, Monoma!"

Monoma ignored her, making his way through the classroom. As he passed Kendo's desk, her hand, delicate yet confident, lifted to rest against her cheek. Her slender fingers draped elegantly as she spoke without turning to him.

"By the way," she said, her voice calm yet thoughtful, "did you catch the news yesterday?"

Monoma paused mid-step, glancing at her. "Something noteworthy?"

Kendo's luminous greenish-blue eyes met his with quiet intensity. "You'll find out soon enough," she said cryptically.

Confused but unwilling to press further, Monoma resumed his journey to his seat. Once he reached it, he set his bag down and sat, but his attention was soon drawn to two students sitting at neighboring desks. Their conversation was impossible to ignore.

"I still can't believe Class 1-A fought real villains this early in the year."

"Yeah, man. It makes sense now why they're in Class A. They're on a whole different level compared to us in Class B."

Monoma's eyes narrowed, his usually calm expression hardening. A spark of irritation lit within him as his lips moved in a barely audible whisper. "Class A…"

No one noticed his reaction. The bell signaling the end of the first period soon rang, and the students of 1-B began filing out toward the cafeteria. Monoma followed, walking alone through the lively halls.

Everywhere he went, snippets of conversation about Class 1-A's exploits in the USJ incident reached his ears.

"Did you hear they fought alongside All Might?"

"And apparently, the teachers acknowledged their skills!"

"Even our own homeroom teacher mentioned them…"

Monoma's steps faltered as he reached the cafeteria, his tray of breakfast food—scrambled eggs, toast, a banana, and a steaming cup of coffee—balanced in his hands. For a moment, his grip wavered, and the tray trembled slightly. His face betrayed the faintest hint of frustration before he took a deep breath, calming himself.

"They're stealing the spotlight, huh? Guess I'll have to take a closer look at this Class 1-A that everyone's so enamored with."

With newfound resolve, he made his way to a table where his classmates were waiting, the gears in his mind already turning.
