[Ding! Fear Value +17]
[Ding! Fear Value has reached 1 million. Fear Value Store unlocked!]
[Fear Value Store is now open!]
[Faith Value +11]
[Faith Value +5]
[Faith Value +2]
[Ding! Faith Value has reached 100,000. Faith Value Store unlocked!]
Xu Yuan stared at the notifications, momentarily stunned. Two new stores? He quickly opened them to take a look.
---
[Fear Value Store]
[Note: Fear Value can be exchanged for Kill Points at a 1:10 ratio.]
[Current Fear Value: 15,247]
The Fear Value Store contained nothing but this single note. It was completely empty otherwise.
Xu Yuan frowned slightly, then turned his attention to the Faith Value Store.
---
[Faith Value Store]
[Current Faith Value: 2,403]
The Faith Value Store didn't even have a note or instructions. Just a blank screen.
Still, since the system specifically highlighted these two values, they were bound to be useful later. Perhaps he simply hadn't unlocked their full functionality yet.
But there was one thing Xu Yuan already appreciated—Fear Value was a pretty neat concept. The ability to convert it to Kill Points at a 1:10 ratio meant it would come in handy. Plus, it seemed to accumulate at a decent pace. In the time it took him to check the system, his Fear Value had already increased by nearly 10,000.
---
Satisfied for now, Xu Yuan turned to the Kill Points Store. After his recent spending spree on skill upgrades, his Kill Points balance stood at just over 4 million.
With his remaining Kill Points, Xu Yuan was considering activating a MOD. Wandering around aimlessly looking for players wasn't exactly efficient. Activating a MOD meant monsters from the MOD would contribute their kills to his tally.
However, Xu Yuan's first choice wasn't going to be the Twilight Forest MOD. Sure, it was the cheapest option, but it wasn't purely a monster-based MOD. While challenging for players, it also offered them opportunities to grow stronger.
The weapons in the Twilight Forest—like the Diamond Minotaur Axe, Dusk Staff, Zombie Staff, Vampire Staff, Ice Sword, Multi-shot Bow, Ender Bow, and Tracking Bow—were all insanely powerful.
Once players obtained those weapons, they would make short work of monsters in the main world. Their kill counts would skyrocket, giving them the means to unlock their own MODs.
And there was no way Xu Yuan was going to do something that worked against his own interests.
If he were to activate a MOD, it had to be one focused solely on monsters.
With that thought, Xu Yuan scrolled through the options. It didn't take long before two MODs caught his eye: Rare Elite Monsters and Epic Siege.
Both MODs required roughly the same amount of Kill Points to activate—10 million.
If he had to choose between the two, Xu Yuan leaned heavily toward Epic Siege. The sheer intensity of that MOD far outstripped the Rare Elite Monsters.
Upon selecting the Epic Siege MOD, Xu Yuan discovered it had three stages: Epic Siege I, Epic Siege II, and Epic Siege III. Each stage required an additional 5 million Kill Points to upgrade.
Xu Yuan let out a soft chuckle. "So that's why it seemed so cheap. They're basically offering it on a payment plan…"
Still, even with the incremental costs, the Epic Siege MOD was far superior to the Rare Elite Monsters. The monsters in Epic Siege had unique traits, like the ability to dig and place blocks, which far surpassed the simple stat boosts of the elites.
Xu Yuan made up his mind.
"My first MOD will be Epic Siege."
Although he didn't have enough Kill Points yet, he wasn't worried. Between the rapid accumulation of Fear Value, his monster farms, and the rampage of the creatures he'd already unleashed, he'd have enough soon.
And if he still came up short, he could always extract some Kill Points from the Eternal Guild players. With over 70,000 members, each of whom surely had impressive kill counts, they were a goldmine. As the top guild, their members were bound to be worth a lot.
Of course, Xu Yuan wasn't planning to deal with them just yet. He'd let them sweat for a few more days.
Having made his initial plans, Xu Yuan closed the system and turned his attention to 007, who had been waiting patiently.
"Alright," Xu Yuan said casually. "From now on, you're with me."
007, who had endured so much, nodded gratefully. After all, the little guy had contributed significantly to Xu Yuan's Kill Points tally. Giving him a break seemed fair enough.
As they spoke, sunlight streamed through the trees, casting long shadows. Unnoticed by anyone, Xu Yuan's shadow subtly rippled, shifting in ways that defied the natural laws of light and darkness.

Meanwhile, at ZeroPoint Company's customer service department...
"Boss! Any word from above yet? I'm about to lose my mind with all these complaints!"
"Damn it, I wish I could transform into employee number 9527 right now and disappear!"
"My entire chat screen is flooded with messages about HIM! I don't even need to read them to know they're about HIM!"
"These players are insane! Thirty messages a minute, and not a single one repeats! They've managed to curse out every single one of my ancestors without repeating themselves once!"
With no way to vent their frustrations on HIM, the players had turned their wrath on the customer service staff. After the last catastrophic battle, the usual excuses like "there's no bug in the game" no longer worked on the players.
Even the guild master of the Eternal Guild, Yonghui, was demanding an explanation from the company.
Faced with over 20 gigabytes of complaint files, Customer Service Director Wang could only sigh deeply. "I might've underestimated just how serious this is…"
Unable to endure the pressure any longer, Wang compiled the files, tagged them as URGENT, and forwarded them to the higher-ups and the technical department.
---
In the technical department…
Minister Wu sat alone in his office, chain-smoking and stewing in frustration. He'd just come out of a meeting where the higher-ups had completely thrown the blame on his team.
"Typical," Wu muttered bitterly. "If anything goes wrong, it's always the tech team's fault…"
