Maki and Miwa engage each other in a sword battle. Both of them are one of the most skilled players when it comes to weapon-based combat. Both attack with precise hits and both block those hits skillfully.

Few days ago, Steve was inquiring about Utahime's team members.

Masamichi: When it comes to fighting with a sword, most players are good at it cus it's the primary choice of weapon for almost all players. Basic strength, speed, and skill are enough to defeat the opponents. However, among the new players that have joined Jujutsu Pros in the past year, 2 surpass everyone in terms of skill.

Steve: Oh?

Masamichi: Maki is the most skilled player we have had in recent months. She can use any weapon with ease and quickly masters it. But there is one that surpasses her in sword fighting. Miwa has mastery over the sword beyond any new player. She ranks just below Kusakabe, who trained her to fight using the sword, but has the potential to surpass even him.

Steve: We have had many talented players join us. The Goodwill Event is conducted to test these players against each other.

Masamachi: But what Miwa lacks is conviction. Motivation. She is not as determined as the others. Without the motivation to be better than yourself, no player can grow. I hope the Tournament helps her realize that.

In the present, Miwa and Maki face each other, none of them having landed a hit on the other.

Maki: (I underestimated her. She is really as skilled as they say. Her sword control is excellent.)

Miwa: (She is really strong. Mai talks about her as if she is a noob player who knows nothing. But she is really pushing me here.)

Miwa stops attacking Maki, focusing only on defending while Maki keeps on striking her.

Miwa: (Alright, I can figure it out now.)

Suddenly Miwa parries Maki's attack and uses the momentum from her block to swing her sword at her, successfully slashing her stomach.

Maki: (She hit me? So fast. How did she parry that attack?)

Maki again attempts to attack her but she parries it easily and quickly counter-attacks though this time Maki is able to dodge the hit.

Maki: (She understood my fighting style and is countering according to that. She really is talented. In that case I will beat her through strength.)

Maki suddenly changes the speed of her attack, striking with brute strength instead of skill. Miwa easily blocks the hit but starts slowly being overwhelmed by the force of each strike.

Maki: (I knew it. She lacks strength.)

Maki continues to attack and pushes Miwa's sword away with her blow, instantly following with a strike, slashing her. She again attacks Miwa who is unable to keep up with Maki's attacks. Maki disarms Miwa by forcefully launching the sword in the air from her attack and strikes her again. She rushes to attack her again but suddenly notices an arrow coming towards her and barely dodges it.

Maki: (An arrow? Mai?)

She looks around but does not see her.

Maki: (She is attacking from a hiding spot.)

Suddenly she realizes that the arrow was to distract her as she sees Miwa picking up her sword and running away. She throws her sword at her which impales her from the back, defeating her.

Maki: Damn that Mai. I will have to deal with her.

Nobara chases Momo who is flying away from her using her Elytra. She hits her with wind charges, knocking her away.

Momo: You just fight with a sword. You don't have anything special for yourself? Here everyone uses swords. If you don't have something special for you going on, you won't make a difference. Unless you are exceptionally well at fighting like Todo, or Skilled with the sword like Miwa, you can't win. A player like me who is fighting while flying. How do you expect to defeat someone like me?

Nobara: So what if a player like me can only use a sword? Does it mean that I don't even try?

She tries to climb the trees and attack her but misses as Momo flies away from her. She hits her with another wind charge.

Momo: Trying when you know you will fail is useless. Use your energy in something else. (If I keep on hitting her with wind charges, she will lose. She can't attack me with just a sword.)

Nobara: Still there is a lot a person can do as long as they don't give up. For example, did you know I am good with Redstone?

Nobara takes out a lever and places it on a tree. Then pulls it.

Momo suddenly gets attacked by an arrow, which she barely dodges. She sees arrows attacking her from multiple directions.

Momo: (Redstone traps? Did she set them up in advance?)

She tries to dodge all the arrows but Nobara throws her sword at her. She dodges it but as a result, gets hit by an arrow, causing her to fall down.

Nobara: (This is my chance).

Nobara takes out a stone sword and rushes towards Momo. She hits her a few times. Before she can land the final blow, she is suddenly hit by an arrow, knocking her out.

Momo: Mai?

Mai is hiding on top of a tree, shooting from a distance.

Mai: You can thank me later.

Suddenly Maki appears behind her.

Maki: How about I thank you right now?

Mai: Thank me, for what?

Maki: For losing so easily.

Mai: You can't beat me so you're asking me to forfeit?

Maki: Don't forget your manners. I am older than you, little sister.

Mai shoots an arrow which Maki deflects with her sword. She jumps towards Mai by jumping on trees, dodging arrows from Mai. She suddenly appears behind her and slashes her, knocking her from the tree.

Mai: (You were always better at fighting than me. A better player than me. I never could compete with you. But we both had a chance. We could have grown stronger in the Zenin. We could have taken over and changed it. But because of you, they kicked me out as well. Why didn't you fight them? Why did you leave?)

Mai shoots arrows at Maki who dodges them by hiding behind trees. She again rushes towards her and hits her with her sword, then hides behind a tree.

Mai: (You are fast. But I will beat you.)

Maki again closes the distance between them by dodging her arrows and running towards her but Mai fakes a shot, forcing Maki to change her direction, and then shoots an arrow where Maki is running. Maki grabs the arrow with her hand, shocking Mai.

Maki: That was close.

Before Mai can load another arrow, Maki attacks her, defeating her.

Maki: I defeated you.

Mai: Why…Why did you leave the Zenin?

Maki: You know why. Because they were pieces of shit who thought only boys can be gamers and would not have let us play. They would have controlled us and ridiculed us. So I left. I didn't think they would kick you out too because of that. I am sorry. But, I had to leave.

Mai: …

Maki: Anyways, Jujutsu Pros is better than Zenin. You know that. We have better friends with whom we can enjoy the game and actually grow. Look at your aim. It has gotten so much better, even though it doesn't matter since a sword is better.

Mai: Ugh…I hate you.

Maki: Yeah. Too bad. I defeated you anyways. See you later.

Megumi is running away as he is attacked by arrows. He deflects them with his sword while running away.

Megumi: (Tipped arrows. Arrows with special potion effects applied to them. If I get hit by them, I will be in trouble. A lot of players from Utahime's team uses arrows.)

Kamo: (Megumi can summon mobs to fight. Though he is avoiding spawning them since my arrows will be effective against them.)

Megumi: (I can't fight him in ranged battle, which means…)

Megumi suddenly changes direction and rushes towards Kamo and attacks him with his sword, but Kamo blocks the hit with his bow. Kamo kicks Megumi in the stomach and then hits him with his bow. Megumi is unable to react to those hits.

Megumi: (He is too fast. Is it, potions effects?)

Kamo takes out a sword and rushes toward Megumi who blocks the attack.

Megumi: Using your own arrows on you?

Kamo: I like to give myself an edge over other players.

Inumaki is fighting the mobs for his team as he can stop their tick and pause them, to easily kill them. He is taking help from Megumi's black wolf to locate the mobs. He suddenly sees a green Iron giant in front of him with a creeper head.

Inumaki: (A green Iron golem? What the hell? And its head. It's…a creeper?)

Kamo continues to attack Megumi with enhanced speed who is barely able to block the attacks.

Megumi: Did Gakuganji order you to kill Player?

Kamo: No. I chose to kill him. It's what I think is right. You should do the same as a player, it is your responsibility.

Megumi: I don't care about responsibilities. I only do what I think is right.

Megumi spawns a slime behind Kamo. Kamo prepares to strike it when it attacks but it disappears.

Kamo: (A distraction?)

He looks behind and sees a Ghast beside Megumi. The Ghast fires a fire charge at him who blocks it with his sword but is knocked away from the impact. Megumi spawns the Phantom and has it attack Kamo while he is in the air. Kamo fires a tipped arrow at the phantom which hits it. Megumi calls the phantom back. Megumi and Kamo both rush towards each other but suddenly hear an explosion.

Kamo: What?

They both look where the explosion occurred and see Inumaki running towards them.

Inumaki: Run away.

Another explosion occurs behind Inumaki as Megumi and Kamo start running away. The three try to escape the region but are surrounded by explosions from both sides.

Steve: The tournament has been interrupted by unregistered mobs.

Utahime: How did they manage to enter the region undetected?

Steve: It's likely one of the glitched mobs. We need to get the players out of there.

They suddenly notice the sky being covered by obsidian blocks. Soon the entire tournament region gets covered by Obsidian creating an obsidian dome.

Steve, Utahime, and others reach the outskirts of the tournament area, just outside the dome.

Utahime: An obsidian barrier? Who could have done that?

Steve: Likely a player teaming up with the mobs. (So I was right. Someone is helping the mobs.)

Utahime tries to break the block but finds it difficult to break it.

Utahime: I know it's obsidian but it shouldn't be that hard to break.

Steve: It's because there is an elder guardian nearby. We have been affected by Mining Fatigue.

Megumi: We are inside a dome?

Hanami appears in front of them.

Inumaki: This mob is responsible for the explosions.

Kamo: What the hell is it?

Megumi: It's probably one of the glitched mobs Steve fought. He described it as a green Iron golem. This one fits the description.

Hanami suddenly appears beside them and attacks Kamo. She suddenly stops as Inumaki Freezes her tick.

Kamo gets away from it and shoots a tipped arrow but it doesn't do much. Megumi attacks her with a sword while also spawning his phantom to attack her.

Hanami: This world belongs to the mobs. You outsiders have abused its resources and destroyed our world enough. We will take it back from you. All you players, have to die.
