Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 22 Echoes of History

On Monday, the next day, Hexia was to attend classes again at Yuanting Academy.

Carrying a bag filled with notebooks and textbooks, the girl descended the stairs lightly, then stopped at one of the landings, where a girl with deep purple hair was waiting for her.

"Hexia, you're finally back," Mel said with a hint of a sob in her voice, relieved.

"I'm back," Hexia nodded slightly.

"I've been tied up with other things, so I wasn't at the Academy."

"Boo-hoo, I was so scared going to class alone without you," she said clutching a grey moon cat in her arms and rubbing the tears brimming in her eyes with its fur.

"There, there, it's okay now," Hexia patted her back, thinking what a crybaby she was.

"Will you be with me today, Hexia?" Mel asked softly, holding up the small cat in front of her as a shield.

"Yes, I will," the girl promised in a gentle voice.

"Really?" Mel tilted her head to peer at the girl next to her from beside the little cat.

"Yes."

"Yay~" Mel finally cheered up, and then both of them picked up their bags and went to class together.

Today, the classroom they were headed to was on a hill on the east side of the Academy, where tall and straight redwoods stood, and the teacher led them through the shady forest.

After arriving at the meeting point and taking the roll, the blonde teacher began to lead the students up the tree-covered hill until, several minutes later, the students reached the top of the hill, a little out of breath.

There was a clearing in the forest with large tree stumps scattered throughout.

"Find a spot you like, and sit down in a comfortable position, then we'll start today's lesson," the teacher said with a smile, guiding the students.

Hexia and Mel found themselves a tree stump to sit on, and even sitting side by side, they occupied less than a fifth of the surface area.

"Today I will talk about the process of pioneering barren planets and how the planet beneath our feet gradually became an inhabitable planet, which should help you understand better how the entire natural ecosystem was constructed step by step and developed to its current state."

"Once you are familiar with this framework, it will be easier to understand and comprehend when you analyze the various systems within the ecosystem and the roles the creatures play, and how they live."

"Okay, let me first explain why it is so essential to pioneer barren planets."

"In the distant past, around the end of the Twilight Era, civilization was likely at its peak following the first downfall."

"Humanity, relying on the Throne Plan, constructed the nearly divine three Solar Crowns, which elevated the entire civilization and moved into the Milky Way Sea to live."

"In this era, although humanity has conquered many regions of the Milky Way, they haven't colonized many inhabitable planets, simply because they no longer need to with their mechanized bodies."

"Next was the beginning of the Fourth Epoch, after the long silence and accumulation of the First, Second, and Third Epochs, humanity once again stepped out of the cradle, reaching for the Galaxy Universe. This also marked the peak of humanity's resurgence after their second decline."

"Many inhabitable planets were being developed, and various starship expeditions, powers, and factions were establishing their own countries, residences, etc., in the universe. During this era, a great number of natural inhabitable planets were utilized and depleted."

"Then came the crumbling, degenerating Fifth Epoch. I won't delve into its specific history, and perhaps there's no need for you to understand that extremely dark period. Suffice to say, by the end of the Fifth Epoch, many inhabitable planets had become completely desolate, with radiation, mutations, carcasses, ruins, and the like being all too common."

"The Sixth Era is another flower of civilization blooming between the cracks— not one that grew out of the ruins, but rather one that inherited the legacy of the Fourth Epoch and was redeveloped anew."

"Thus, you can still see traces of ancient things, such as certain churches' creeds, folk legends, and various traditional holiday preferences, and so on."

"However, unlike the Fourth Epoch, where a blue ocean of habitable planets awaited discovery with just a bit of patience, in our era, an inhabitable planet may only be born through our own incubation and transformation."

"Human lifespan is less than 100 years and, although genetic technology has improved, the body and the mind still age and deteriorate. Remodeling a planet can easily take hundreds or thousands of years, even with the assistance of countless AI and Autonomous Units to speed up the process."

"If an investment only yields returns hundreds of years after one's death, it's unlikely many would be willing to commit, which is why, even at the start of the Sixth Era, as civilization was slowly resurging, there were still not many inhabitable spots throughout the Milky Way."

"Such a situation persisted until the emergence of that princess, who brought about a turning point. She is the founder of our Rose Federation, the 'Golden Flame of the Rose,' Isenisha."

"Many today may not understand her greatness, which lies not just in using her Songstress Talent to unite the scattered giant corporations and organizations of the galaxy at that time but also in bringing a unique planetary remodeling technology." Your journey continues with empire

"Driven by her willpower, many Elves or those of Elf Bloodline followed in her footsteps to one cold, barren Star Domain after another, staying at the same monotonous and unchanging posts for nearly a hundred years, to develop and remodel one icy planet after another, allowing them to slowly become filled with oxygen, covered with plants, with crystal clear oceans."

"More and more planets were lit up in the dark, icy Milky Way, turning into bright worlds teeming with life, and as the population increased, the vast social strife also dissolved with the cultivation of each planet."

"It was also because of her that the Rose Federation expanded step by step to become the largest nation in the Milky Way with the most inhabitable planets and the largest population."

"Under the push of populations in the hundreds of billions, even trillions, countless roaring machines harmonize, and numerous engines shuttle across the Milky Way, filling this gradually quieting world with sound once again."

"And thus, we've acquired a formidable power, a power sufficient to face any challenge, even the remnants of the Fifth Epoch known as 'higher humans.'

"Our fleet can obscure the skies, regardless of how many Suns there are above."

"Even if those 'higher humans' left from the Fifth Epoch manage to replicate a few Solar Crowns, they will still be destroyed and annihilated by us."

"Now you understand why transforming barren planets and establishing new ecosystems is such an important and grand task."

"When we can support a sufficient population, we also possess an unmatched power." His voice echoed through the woods, startling a few birds that were nestled asleep.

Soon after, a round of applause rippled through the air, and the students also entered into the real lesson and study.
