Chapter 23: Another one(4)
The laboratory was filled with elven scientists. Mutants and the results of various experiments stood nearby. These elves believed their race to be the true superior one and considered the ruins they had found as proof of their theory. Furthermore, they claimed that humans were created in this laboratory, and everything else was simply a confirmation of their beliefs.
At that moment, the laboratory's AI, due to Luxion's interference, began the awakening process.
The elves themselves looked both frightened and irritated.
"What the hell is going on? Why are there so many explosions and gunshots?" one of the elves demanded angrily.
"And they're getting closer! We'd better prepare," suggested another.
At that moment, the door to the room was blown open. Standing in the doorway was a short figure in a black cloak and a strange mask.
"Who are you?! You're not an elf! How dare a lowly member of another race barge in here?" one of the elves sneered with contempt.
"What? Is it forbidden or something?" the short figure replied, looking around. His gaze fell on the mutants with exposed bodies. "Ah, I see. You're having orgies here? Well, that explains why I'm not allowed in."
"As always, your tongue is too sharp, Master," said a hovering sphere with a red eye beside him.
"W-what?! How dare you insult this sacred place of our ancestors? Do you even know how you came into existence?" the elf shouted.
"Don't bother continuing," the short figure interrupted. "I've already heard your nonsense. About how you supposedly created humans and other races, and how this laboratory is proof of that."
"H-how do you know?! That information is accessible to less than one percent of elves on this island!" the elf stammered nervously.
"How, you ask? Oh, a little bird told me," the short figure smirked.
At that moment, a voice echoed in Leon's consciousness:
"What do you mean, 'a little bird'?!"
"Relax, it's just a figure of speech," another voice replied.
Leon turned his attention back to the elves.
"Hmph, it doesn't matter. You're wrong anyway."
"Wrong?!" the elf exclaimed indignantly. "We will reclaim the world stolen by humans! Then, elves will take control of all races, and the world will return to its former state! You'll be part of this plan, offering yourself as a sacrifice!"
At that moment, two voices could be heard: one echoing around the room and the other belonging to Luxion.
"No, you're wrong about everything you've said."
The second voice continued:
"This place was built by humans, not your ancestors. This island was an experimental base where a race capable of opposing the new humans was being developed. In other words, you were created by humans. To be precise, the old humans."
The elf clenched his fist, glaring at Leon.
"Even if that's a joke, it's not funny. Take up your weapons and kill this scum and his strange sphere!" he shouted.
The elves began to draw their rifles, but suddenly, a dozen turrets descended from the ceiling, aiming directly at them.
"Here's your proof that this fortress was created by old humans," Luxion said calmly. "I, or rather the entire laboratory, serve humans, not you. If you don't want extra holes in your bodies, you'd better lay down your weapons."
Realizing their predicament, the elves quickly surrendered.
However, the leader of the elves glared at Leon and said:
"I know who you are now. Do you think you'll get away with this? Who do you think the royal family will believe – a kid or the elves?"
Leon grinned maliciously.
"They'll believe me, of course. And here's why. Luxion!" he shouted, looking at the sphere.
"Right away," Luxion responded.
At that moment, a video appeared in the sky, showing everything the elves had said. It was undeniable evidence of their plans for rebellion and treason against the kingdom.
In the end, Leon arrested fifteen elves. He planned to accuse them of kidnapping, murder, and experiments on both humans and elves before sending them to the royal family. But first, he decided to finish his business in the laboratory.
