Mobuseka:Leon's Adventure

Chapter 46: Forest of Dames(4)

Revenge? Is that it? Then deal with it yourself," said Luxion, moving away from Leon.

Leon knew perfectly well that the AI would intervene if his life were truly at risk. But he also understood it wouldn't come to that. He would have to deal with the assassins without any help or intel from Luxion.

"Seventh…" Leon muttered, reloading his Desert Eagle.

By now, the assassins had noticed him. Two remaining shooters opened fire, and this time their aim was far more precise. Leon ducked down swiftly and took cover behind a dumpster, returning fire as he did.

Four precise shots from Leon struck the shooters in their arms and legs, silencing their gunfire. Now only those armed with melee weapons remained.

"Eighth… ninth," Leon whispered, firing off the rest of his bullets and wounding two more enemies.

When the gun ran out of ammo, he tossed it aside and prepared for close combat.

"Tenth… eleventh," he continued counting coldly as he effortlessly took down two attackers in hand-to-hand combat.

"Five left," he whispered, sizing up the remaining opponents.

Two of them, standing directly in front of Leon, stared at him as if he were a monster. One of them, clutching a dagger nervously, whispered,

"What went wrong…?"

The other seemed ready to flee. Perhaps he was already imagining the consequences if they were captured—slavery, torture, or worse. Leon noticed this and was about to stop the escapee when he suddenly sensed the presence of others.

Looking up, he saw two assassins leaping down from a rooftop simultaneously. Their swords glinted in the moonlight as they charged toward him. But thanks to the fusion of two bodies, which had enhanced his reflexes, Leon managed to dodge not only their strikes but also a third surprise attack. One of the remaining assassins below had coordinated with those striking from above, leaving Leon seemingly without any chance of escape.

However, he dodged their attacks effortlessly. After retreating just a couple of steps, he felt someone's presence behind him. Turning quickly, he saw a third assassin leaping from another rooftop. This one hurled knives at him. They flew straight toward Leon's head, and for a moment, it seemed the battle was over.

The assassins were already celebrating their victory. Luxion was preparing to intervene.

But then, a strange, almost crazed smile appeared on Leon's face. In the next instant, a transparent, glowing hand began emerging from his head. The hand caught all the knives mid-air with lightning speed and, without hesitation, flung them back. The knives struck the assassin in the chest and stomach with deadly accuracy.

Seconds earlier, the assassins had been confident in their success; now, they stood frozen in place. Even Luxion took a moment to process what had just happened.

And then, the hand emerging from Leon's head began to extend further, taking shape.

First came another hand and legs, then a torso, and finally a head. Before the stunned assassins stood a transparent copy of Leon, shimmering with an unnatural glow.

It seemed as though an attack was imminent, but suddenly, the transparent clone turned to face Leon. A sorrowful, almost reproachful expression appeared on its face.

"Dude, I've known from the beginning your life wasn't easy, but this? Putting up with so much… It's unbelievable."

"Shut the hell up!" Leon snapped irritably, swinging to strike the clone.

So what had happened?

This was the result of their separation. When Leon used his ability, the second Leon didn't remain inside his body but became an independent, transparent clone. The original Leon stayed in his physical body, while the second existed as an energy duplicate. They were nearly identical—same memories, reflexes, and skills. However, during separation, the second Leon always exhibited traits associated with his "other side."

Noticing that Leon was distracted by his argument with the clone, the assassins decided to seize the opportunity. They began to retreat slowly, trying not to make a sound. They left their injured comrades behind—their main goal now was to deliver information about what had happened to the guild leader.

At that moment, Luxion flew up to the Leons. His mechanical voice sounded both surprised and calm:

"I'm impressed, master. You managed to surprise me. However, there's a problem."

Both Leons turned to Luxion in unison.

"What problem?" they asked simultaneously.

Luxion directed his lens toward the alleyway's exit. Following his gaze, the Leons noticed the assassins trying to sneak away. One of them, meeting Leon's gaze, realized they'd been spotted and shouted to the others:

"Run!"

"Stop right there, criminal scums!" the second Leon shouted mockingly, his voice dripping with both sarcasm and fury.

Both Leons took off after them.

The assassins weren't lucky. The chase lasted only a couple of minutes. At the alley's exit, they were met by police officers, drawn by the noise of the gunfight. But this wasn't just any police force—it was an elite unit, armed to the teeth and clad in modern armor.

Seeing the overwhelming force, the assassins immediately ceased all resistance and raised their hands.

"We surrender!" one of them shouted, tossing his dagger to the ground.

By the time both Leons arrived at the scene, the police were already making arrests. The lead officer, judging by his uniform, was a high-ranking individual. Upon seeing Leon, he immediately bowed in respect.

"It is an honor to meet the shining star of the kingdom, Viscount Leon Bartfort!"

Leon's clone, who had been watching the proceedings with a smug grin, suddenly looked flustered.

"Well, that's a bit much," he muttered. "I'm no star; I'm just doing my job."

The officer, noticing the transparent clone, hesitated before asking,

"Excuse me, but what… is that?"

Before Leon could answer, the clone turned to the original:

"Well, you handled it. See you in the future," he said before dissolving and returning to Leon's body.

The officer shook his head but said nothing.

Leon explained the situation to the police, recounting the attack. Upon hearing the story, the officers immediately entered the alley, arrested the injured assassins, and began administering medical aid. In total, sixteen members of the assassins' guild were taken into custody.

"This is incredible!" the officer exclaimed. "We've never apprehended so many assassins in a single day. Viscount Leon, rest assured—the royal family will hear of your heroics."

When the interrogations were complete, Leon headed back to his residence in the capital. Along the way, Luxion joined him again.

"Well?" Leon asked, glancing at his mechanical companion.

"I've located the headquarters of the assassins' guild," Luxion replied.

"Excellent. We move out in a couple of hours.

From the Author:

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a few things about the story that I haven't mentioned before.

First: Will there be lemons in the story?

Many of you have asked this question in the comments, so I've decided to give a detailed answer.

Yes, there will be lemons, but:

1. Not soon.

2. Not often.

Here's why. In 90% of fanfics with lemons, the focus shifts entirely to them. For example, in one of the most popular Mobuseka fanfics on this site, the original character engaged in a lemon scene by chapter 30, and every 2–3 chapters after that were focused on similar content.

I prefer to focus on developing romantic relationships. I want the interactions between Leon and other characters to feel natural, rather than following a cliché pattern. Only at the right moment will "love in the bedroom" feel appropriate.

By the way, I have no personal experience in relationships, but I'll do my best to make them realistic. If you're expecting lemons every 5–10 chapters, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. The first such moment might not happen until after chapter 100.

Second: Why does Leon sometimes act a bit childish, considering the fusion of two personalities? Shouldn't he be more mature, since one of his personalities was a soldier?

The answer is simple: both the first and second Leon were deprived of joy in their past lives. One because of his sister, and the other because he joined the army too early. Now, in this new life, they both want to have fun and enjoy it.

It's also important to note that despite his military background, the second Leon is still young and thinks like a student, not an old man.

I hope this clears things up for you! See you in 24 hours!
