Multiverse Gacha

Chapter 403: [401] Demon

Boom!

On top of the Vimāna, an overwhelming aura suddenly erupted from August.

Dark magic surged skyward at that moment, transforming the entire region into night. The sun was forced to retreat, replaced by a luminous moon that hung high in the sky.

August had regained his Satan-Class strength. His abyssal magic once again filled his being, radiating a power that could only be described as terrifying.

Blessed by darkness, the Demon Race gains additional strength under the night sky. The strongest among them can even transform daylight into night. However, this ability is reserved for only the most elite of the Demon Race.

Nearby, Akame and Kurome were stunned speechless as they witnessed August's transformation.

It was clear to them now—this man was far more fearsome and powerful than Esdeath could ever hope to be.

On the battlefield below, Esdeath smiled with unrestrained delight. Her army of 1.3 million had been utterly annihilated under her command, not a single survivor left standing.

Now, as the surroundings were plunged into darkness and August's figure loomed like that of a Demon God, Esdeath realized that his strength had been significantly restored. She didn't know the extent, but it was undoubtedly beyond her imagination.

"This feeling... it's reassuring," August mused.

The unfathomable depth of his dark magic brought a sense of control, power, and security that was unmatched.

Having once lost his strength, the act of reclaiming it made the sensation all the more memorable. Yet, regaining the strength of a transcendent being remained a distant goal.

To achieve it, one could ignite a world-ending massacre, but such an act was impractical—too time-consuming and troublesome. The alternative was the passage of time. As the embodiment of two cardinal sins, August could passively absorb the sins and negativity of the world. Over time, his strength would naturally grow.

Boom!

A towering pillar of ice emerged from below, carrying Esdeath up to join him. She stepped back onto the Vimāna, her gaze meeting August's.

"Recovered?"

"Partially."

"To what extent?"

"Satan-Class."

Esdeath laughed, and so did August.

Meanwhile, Akame and Kurome, mere spectators to their exchange, were filled with confusion.

Standing at the edge of the Vimāna, August surveyed the icy wasteland below with a calm expression.

Swish!

The battlefield, now devoid of life, prompted August to recall the Gate of Sins. The massive portal of darkness shrank rapidly before merging back into his body.

"Since it's all over, let's clean up the battlefield. Spiral Annihilation!"

Rumble!

A massive, fiery vortex, glowing with crimson flames, descended upon the battlefield.

In an instant, a mushroom cloud rose from the explosion, its searing heat and destructive force enveloping the area.

Akame and Kurome widened their eyes in disbelief. Their understanding of the world had been shattered repeatedly in mere moments.

Was this even human? With a single attack, August had obliterated the entire landscape.

Even though a protective barrier shielded the Vimāna, the heat still radiated through. Akame had no doubt—without the barrier, she would have been vaporized instantly, with no time to react.

Meanwhile, in the shadows, Syura and his group, too frightened to face Esdeath, were caught in the explosion before they could escape. The devastating blast annihilated Syura and the Wild Hunt, reducing them all to ash.

August watched the scene unfold with satisfaction. He had finally regained Satan-Class strength. While there was still a long way to go to reach transcendent levels, this method was far faster than eroding void energy.

If he had chosen to grind away void energy, even after this battle, his recovery would have peaked at the level of a high-ranking demon.

Eroding void energy was far less efficient compared to absorbing negative energy and sins. The disparity in the conversion rate was massive.

Moreover, August had now confirmed something—this world had no system tasks.

Despite controlling the empire and annihilating both the Revolutionary Army and foreign races, there had been no notification from the system. Clearly, his journey to this world was an irregular one.

"So, this is your true power?" Esdeath asked, visibly shaken by the destructive force.

"No," August replied. "This is merely Satan-Class—what you might call the Level 8. Beyond Level 8 lies Level 9, and beyond that, there are surely even greater realms."

August's certainty was absolute. In the previous world, his transcendent strength had nearly been undone by Fate itself. This alone proved that Level 9 was far from the pinnacle—there were undoubtedly higher levels to reach.

"Fascinating. Yes, this makes it truly interesting," Esdeath said, her battle spirit igniting rather than waning. That was who she was—unyielding and ever driven by the thrill of challenge.

From their conversation, Akame gleaned one undeniable truth: both August and Esdeath possessed powers that transcended humanity, far beyond the realm of the ordinary.

Taking a deep breath, Akame glanced at her sister, Kurome, before stepping forward.

"Lord August," she said firmly, "I know I have no right to ask, but I beg of you—please save Kurome."

At her words, August, Esdeath, and Kurome all looked at her in surprise.

"Sister..." Kurome whispered, childhood memories flooding her mind. Back then, she had been weak—fragile and defenseless. Her sister had always been there, fighting fiercely to protect her, ensuring her survival.

"Interesting," August said, intrigued. "Akame, if you seek my aid, what can you offer in return?"

"Everything," she replied without hesitation. "My body, my will, my soul—all of it is yours to command."

"Hahaha! How amusing!"

August couldn't help but smile at her boldness. A sudden thought crossed his mind.

Raising his hand, a sphere of energy inscribed with a strange symbol appeared in his palm. It was the Commandment of Lust, a power born from the fusion of divine energy and the sin of lust.

For August, however, this power was both redundant and insignificant.

Those with lust in their hearts would have their souls and wills enslaved—a seemingly formidable ability, but one that August, as the embodiment of Lust, already possessed in its entirety. In fact, this Commandment was merely a weakened fragment of his true power.
