Chapter 606 - 608 Do you like Gu Jing?
Chapter 608: Chapter 608 Do you like Gu Jing?
Qiao Yin was startled when she saw the necklace being pulled apart by him.
The necklace was expensive, and she wouldn’t be able to pay Gu Jing back if he ever wanted it back!
Plus, she had planned to wear it the next time she saw Gu Jing. It would be a way to show him how much she valued him, and he might be willing to take her to meet his dad!
Qiao Yin was both angry and anxious: “What’s it to you? Give it back to me!”
As she said that, she tried to snatch the necklace from his hand.
Lu Lingche hid his hand behind his back. When Qiao Yin reached for his right hand, he moved the necklace to his left hand; and when she reached for his left hand, he shifted it back to his right. No matter how hard Qiao Yin tried, she couldn’t get the necklace.
She had even thrown herself onto him, clutching onto his arm, trying to pull his hand infront of her.
After a bit of a stalemate, Lu Lingche casually tossed the necklace into a crack in the car seat, then hugging her, said testily: “Why are you so fussed about a lousy necklace? Is it because Gu Jing gave it to you, and that makes it important?”
Ignoring his snide remark, Qiao Yin hurriedly caught hold of his hand and found it empty.
She stared at him, exasperated: “Where’s the necklace? Where did it go?”
Lu Lingche looked at her and impassively said: “Do you like Gu Jing? He’s even worse than Dongfang Mu. If you had any sense, you’d stay away from him!”
Qiao Yin didn’t respond to him and busied herself with searching his clothes, checking each pocket.
She was so frazzled, sweating all over: “Where did it go? Where did you hide it? Give it to me!”
Lu Lingche grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him: “Qiao Yin, answer me. Do you like Gu Jing?”
She slapped his hand away: “You’re hurting me! What does it matter to you who I like?”
Lu Lingche let go of her and shouted: “Of course it matters! I’ve told you before, you’re not allowed to like anyone else!”
“Why are you yelling? What gives you the right to tell me what to do? Even if I don’t like anyone else, aren’t you basically saying that I should like you?”
“Of course, like me.”
“Is there any good in liking you? To like you is to be abandoned by you, to be divorced! Where do you get off telling me not to like anyone else?”
The accusation extinguished half of Lu Lingche’s anger; he changed his tone, saying quietly: “I was wrong before, but you can’t punish me like this. You’re stabbing my heart.”
“Isn’t that great? You hurt me, I hurt you back. Fair is fair!”
Only when Qiao Yin finished speaking did she realize that in her panic earlier, she had practically climbed onto Lu Lingche and his clothes had been dishevelled by her. His shirt was still on, but the suit and vest were halfway down.
Her heart gave a jolt, and she hurriedly tried to get off him, but he held her down.
The position was too suggestive, so Qiao Yin whispered, chiding him: “Let go!”
“If you say you don’t like Gu Jing, I’ll let go.”
Qiao Yin stayed silent for a few seconds, and in the end, she went along with his demand: “I don’t like Gu Jing.”
That made Lu Lingche feel a little better, and he let Qiao Yin go. He watched as she moved away from him and sat to one side.
He took her hand in the dim light. She tried to shake him off, but he didn’t let her.
His voice was soft: “You like the necklace?”
“No.”
“If you like it, I’ll give it to you.”
“I don’t like it.”
“I remember once, Lan Yuyi was showing off a diamond necklace and you seemed to like it. You thought the necklace was from me and quarrelled with her over it.”
Qiao Yin couldn’t help responding: “It wasn’t because I liked the necklace!”
“Then what was it for?”
Qiao Yin stayed silent.
But Lu Lingche said, “Was it because you liked me? So you got upset thinking that I gave her a necklace but not you?”
Qiao Yin looked at him in surprise, how did he suddenly become so insightful?
He had never thought so deeply or so meticulously before, neither had he ever cared about her feelings.
Could it be that he’s really starting to like her?
