My CEO Daddy: A Night of Temptation

Chapter 13: Chapter 13 You Can Sleep Here At Night These Days

As soon as Veronica Parker was fired from the company, the mature women who were ready to try to seduce the head of the KING group turned white with fear.

Sure enough, gossip was just gossip, and they almost believed it. They almost lost their jobs as Veronica did.

She lost her job again.

However, it was a great joy to be fired if it got you what you want.

Veronica didn't go back but went directly to look for a job. She didn't go back until it was getting dark. She was so tired that she was like a stray dog.

Going home, she pushed open the door, and inside were her little children who were so excited that they squeeze themselves into the door.

Her legs that were about to come inside the house were hugged by Peter--

"Ah! Peter, that's bad!" Veronica fell to the ground with a bang.

The little boy was stunned for a moment, and after making sure that Veronica Parker sat up and was all right, the children rushed to her--

"Mom!"

"Don't stand at the door like that. I almost stepped on you just now." Veronica had a lingering fear.

Isabella came over and said, "They're all looking forward to seeing you again and kept asking why you haven't come back yet."

Veronica touched their little heads and said, "Sorry, Mom is working overtime today."

"Working overtime?" The little children looked at her with a question mark on their faces.

Veronica understood that they didn't know yet what overtime was.

"Overtime is a bad thing! Come to think of it," Peter said, holding up his gun.

"Worse than a brain ax!" Cathy did not let go of the panda cub in her arms, with anger on her tender face.

"Let's beat it!" Pam raised her hand upward.

"We will defeat it." Josh joined in.

"It's a bad thing," Lily added.

"Hmm!" Daniel nodded hard.

Veronica couldn't help laughing and knew that overtime was a bad thing.

When the kids finished eating supplementary food, Veronica asked Isabella, "Isabella, can you sleep here for the following nights?"

"What?"

"I need to work overtime. It'll only take a few days. Can I just add to your overtime pay?" Veronica asked.

"Yes, I have nothing to do when I go home anyway."

"Thank you. Isabella, you may go home now. You may start tomorrow."

"All right."

After Isabella left, Veronica thought that she really had to pick up the trash before she found a job. If she couldn't make ends meet, what should she do for the rest of her life? It didn't matter if she worked hard because she couldn't starve the children!

Peter climbed up her shoulder from behind. "Mom, play hide-and-seek with us!"

Veronica looked at the six cute children with stars in their eyes and she put out her hand to cover her eyes. "On the count of five, you need to hide quickly."

As soon as she said that, the six children immediately ran around, and their short legs ran hard to find a place to hide.

The cute Daniel was hit by Peter, who fell to the ground and rolled out in a circle.

He was stunned for two seconds, but he was ready to continue again in finding a place to hide.

"Four. Five! " As soon as Veronica let go of her hand, she looked at Daniel who was standing there and had nothing to say.

Veronica went out to look for a job during the day. At night, after the children fell asleep, she called Isabella and went out.

Picking up garbage was not decent enough, but in the sight of the crying little children, nothing else mattered.

Veronica was carrying bags and searching for plastic bottles along the road but didn't find many.

The quality of the people in this city was too high. Or should she not pick it up by the boulevard? Sure enough, she was not qualified to pick up garbage without experience.

It was late at night, there were not many cars on the road, and the domineering and fierce Rolls-Royce disturbed the night, giving out a haunting atmosphere.

Nick sat in his seat as Kay reported the company's rise this month. Nick sat by the window, his face, on one hand, his eyes out of the window, and his black eyes deeper than the night.

"Stop the car."

The report was interrupted, and the driver pulled over.

Kay Tours looked down the line of sight and saw Veronica Parker drilled out of the bushes with plastic bags by the side of the road.

'Is she picking up plastic bottles?'

Kay thought he had sight problems. When he saw Veronica pick up the mineral water bottle on the ground and threw it into the bag, his eyes were shocked by what he saw.

'Veronica was fired, so she didn't come to pick up bottles for a living, did she? A person who picked up bottles for a living should have valued her job not as arrogantly as she did when she was with the company. Was she not scared that others will not know that she was having an affair with the person in charge of the KING Group?'

'Or does she want to rise to the sky one step at a time?'

'Obviously, people with brains wouldn't take that risk, would they? You have to make steady progress no matter what.'

When Kay was not sure whether Veronica's demeanor was true or false, he felt that the cold atmosphere became depressing.

"Interesting." Nick slightly raised the corners of his mouth, but his smile did not reach the corner of his eyes. The last person who calculated him had already seen the Savage King. "Bring her in."

"Yes." Kay got out of the car.

Veronica was bowing her head and wondered if she should pick up the bottle. These few cents were not enough to pay Isabella for her overtime pay!

Just as she was thinking about it, footsteps were approaching, and Kay looked up in front of her.

"Tours special assistant?" Veronica wondered, 'What is he doing here?'

"Get in the car." Kay turned slightly sideways.

Veronica saw the black Rolls-Royce parked by the side of the road not far away, frightening by every corner without anger and intimidation, and making people have nothing to hide.

The car was Nick's. It was so dark that she couldn't see if people were sitting inside, but Veronica knew that Nick was inside and even felt that his eyes fell on her. She felt a little uneasy.

"Veronica?" Kay reminded her.

"It's not convenient for me to get on the bus, is it? Look at me, aren't you interrupting me to pick up garbage? " Veronica asked solemnly.

He really didn't understand why she was allowed to get close to Nick. She left the company, but Nick himself ordered it.

"Throw away the bag and take off your gloves." Veronica wanted to struggle, so Kay said, "Mr. Cage doesn't like to wait."

Veronica threw the bag, took off her gloves, and walked to Rolls-Royce.

Kay opened the door and let her see Nick, sitting in a wide seat, cross-legged, wearing black, appearing powerful and oppressive, and striking a look back at her eyes.

Veronica went up and sat down. The door closed and Kay sat in the front seat, not hearing what was going on behind him.

"Mr. Cage, I don't know what you want with me. It's not that you've figured it out that you're going to marry me, have you?" Veronica Parker was deliberately pre-emptive.

Nick's black eyes looked at her, deep and sinister, unable to tell whether it was good or bad, but thinned the oxygen in the car.

When Veronica kept insisting, he heard Nick say, "I've thought about marrying you."

"What?" Veronica Parker was stunned. "What did you say? Marry? You will marry me?"

"I thought you'd be happy to hear that." Nick Cage said.

"Of course I'm happy, but I regret it now. I don't want to marry you." Before Veronica Parker had finished her words, her wrist was tightened by his grasp, and the next second she was dragged over and pinned on the seat by him.

Veronica's frightened pupils were shrouded in the shadow of Nick.

Her chin was lifted and forced to look at Nick's dangerous, aggressive black eyes. "You managed to piss me off."
