Chapter 2:
Chapter 2: In My Eyes, You Are No Different From a Dog:
Qin Yan’s cold words stunned Xiao Fan, but Liu Xinyao showed no fear. Instead, she became furious.
“Qin Yan, didn’t you say you love me? Is this your so-called love for me?”
Her words made Qin Wu, who was just about to act, hesitate. He knew how much Liu Xinyao meant to Qin Yan. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that her words had always been like imperial decrees to him.
Seeing Qin Wu hesitate, a trace of smugness crossed Liu Xinyao’s face. She was confident that Qin Yan still cared for her.
Using that confidence, she spoke again: “Qin Yan, I’m so disappointed in you. So this is the love you talk about—selfish and controlling. Is your so-called love just a desire to possess me? True love means wanting the other person to be happy. I’ve found my happiness now, and you should bless me instead of scaring me here.”
She straightened up and added arrogantly, “If you let us go now, we can still be friends. Otherwise, we won’t even have that.”
Qin Yan’s muscles twitched at her words, and he felt a deep urge to open her skull and check if she had any common sense.
Did she really believe they could still be friends after what she had done?
She had disgraced the Qin family and turned them into a laughingstock. The animosity between the two families was now inevitable, yet she expected friendship?
His sneer was sharp and chilling. “My fondness for you was a personal matter. But today, you’ve insulted the entire Qin family. That insult can only be washed away with blood.”
Liu Xinyao was visibly startled by his icy words.
She instinctively stepped back, panic flashing in her eyes.
Xiao Fan quickly positioned himself in front of her, pointing an accusatory finger at Qin Yan. “Qin Yan, how dare you rely on your family’s power! If you’re truly capable, fight me one-on-one. If I win, you let me take Xinyao away.”
In the novel, Qin Yan had been so enraged at this point that he actually agreed to Xiao Fan’s demand. Though stronger, Qin Yan had lost his composure, and Xiao Fan, with his ability to fight beyond his level, had defeated him.
But now, Qin Yan had no intention of repeating that foolish mistake. His calm, sarcastic gaze swept over Xiao Fan as he uttered two words with a mocking tone.
“Utter fool.”
Xiao Fan’s face turned red with anger. “You—!”
At a nearby table, Liu Xinyao’s father, Liu Zhong, stood up, his face plastered with a fake smile.
“Young Master Qin, what happened today is all because of my goddaughter’s immaturity. Let us leave first, and we’ll return the engagement certificate later. What do you think?”
Feigning concern, Liu Zhong added, “Honestly, I wanted Xinyao to marry you, but as she said, forced love never works. We will apologize for this incident. Please don’t let this damage the relationship between our two families.”
Qin Yan turned his gaze toward Liu Zhong, his expression indifferent. He knew the man too well. Liu Zhong had been fully aware of Liu Xinyao’s relationship with Xiao Fan but had chosen to hide it.
Why?
To continue benefiting from the Qin family’s resources.
Worse, Liu Zhong had even supported Liu Xinyao’s actions because he saw potential in Xiao Fan and wanted to bet on multiple outcomes.
Liu Zhong, sensing Qin Yan’s growing hostility, tried to add, “Young Master Qin, rest assured, I’ll give Xinyao a proper lesson when we return.”
But Qin Yan was done listening. He turned to the guards and issued a cold command.
“Arrest everyone in the Liu family. If anyone dares resist, kill them without mercy.”
“Yes, young master!”
Like wolves closing in on prey, the guards surged forward, their weapons gleaming.
The Liu family panicked, their protests loud and frantic.
“What are you doing? Let us go!”
“Do you know who I am? How dare you lay a hand on me!”
“Qin Yan loves Xinyao the most. He’ll kill you for this!”
One particularly defiant young man, barely in his twenties, attempted to strike a guard. The deputy captain responded with brutal efficiency, striking the man down with a single blow that crushed his skull.
The remaining members of the Liu family screamed in terror, their bravado replaced by trembling fear.
Liu Zhong stood frozen, his mind blank with shock. He had assumed Qin Yan’s devotion to Liu Xinyao would make him forgiving, that he would yield to any demand. But now, Qin Yan’s ruthless actions shattered that belief.
Liu Xinyao, seeing her cousin killed so mercilessly, screamed in outrage. “Qin Yan! How dare you let them kill my cousin! Order the guards to kill that man right now, kneel before my father, and apologize! If you don’t, I’ll never see you again in my life!”
The guards, momentarily startled by her demands, hesitated and turned to Qin Yan, unsure how to proceed. They remembered a past incident where one guard had spoken out against Liu Xinyao’s unreasonable behavior. At her complaint, Qin Yan had broken the guard’s legs without hesitation.
Liu Xinyao, her confidence restored, looked at Qin Yan with a smug expression. Over the years, she had come to believe she had complete control over him.
As soon as Liu Xinyao uttered the words “break up the relationship,” she was confident Qin Yan would agree to her conditions, no matter how unreasonable they were.
Liu Zhong’s tense expression also relaxed. In the past, whenever Liu Xinyao threatened Qin Yan, he would relent without hesitation. He believed today would be no different.
However, under their expectant gazes, Qin Yan’s lips curved into a cold smile. “Haha, Liu Xinyao, you truly don’t understand the situation, do you? Let me tell you this—in my eyes, you are no different from a dog.”
He continued, his voice sharp and unrelenting. “When I’m happy, I can tolerate your petty tantrums and indulge you. But if you dare cross the line, I won’t hesitate to kill you.”
He then turned to the guards and commanded, “Continue. Don’t stop.”
The guards, energized by Qin Yan’s words, shouted in unison and resumed their assault on the Liu family.
Yun Qing, watching from the audience, felt a sense of relief and pride. This was the resolve befitting the young master of the Qin family.
Qin Yan’s gaze shifted to Qin Wu, who stood frozen nearby. His voice was as cold as ice. “What are you standing there for? Kill this couple. And make sure their deaths are painful.”
Qin Wu snapped out of his daze, his face lighting up with excitement. It seemed he had misunderstood the young master earlier. Now filled with vigor, he roared, “Yes, young master!”
Taking a step forward, a ferocious expression crossed Qin Wu’s face.
He raised his hand, and a massive golden palm, three meters wide, materialized above Xiao Fan and Liu Xinyao. The palm descended slowly but with crushing force.
Qin Wu, an eighth-grade grandmaster, vastly outclassed Xiao Fan and Liu Xinyao, who were mere third-grade warriors. This attack would be more than enough to turn them into paste.
Xiao Fan was paralyzed with fear, cold sweat soaking his back. He tried to move, but his body felt as if it were imprisoned. He could only watch helplessly as the golden palm closed in.
Liu Xinyao, similarly immobilized, stared at the descending palm, her delicate face filled with despair.
Her thoughts, however, were still filled with resentment toward Qin Yan.
‘All I did was break off the engagement at the engagement party. You can’t even handle that? And you dare claim you love me? What a hypocrite.’
Yet as the golden palm approached, her anger gave way to fear. She didn’t want to die.
At the critical moment, a commanding voice echoed through the hall. “Stop.”
A sharp burst of sword energy streaked through the air, shattering the golden palm instantly.
The oppressive force binding Xiao Fan and Liu Xinyao vanished. Xiao Fan wiped the sweat from his forehead and turned to look at their savior. His face lit up with relief and surprise. “Master!”
The one who had intervened was Gao Wei, the vice president of the Capital Martial Arts Academy and Xiao Fan’s current master. Gao Wei was a semi-saint, possessing immense strength.
Qin Yan turned his gaze to Gao Wei, his expression calm but his thoughts icy, ‘Old dog, you’ve finally decided to intervene.’
