My half-blood lady.

Chapter 58: Vests Expose the Great Crisis!

The morning after Edith defeated the unicorn and rescued the survivors of the small caravan, Cole Town returned to its usual tranquility and mundanity.

The presence of the Templar Knights didn't change the atmosphere here much. They were stationed on the outskirts of the town and rarely interfered with the daily lives of the townspeople.

Although everyone advised Edith to take a couple more days off, she still insisted on helping the injured with their wounds and didn't abandon her plan to visit people at their homes.

"Good morning, sister. What a coincidence. I was just about to go out."

"Edith, how did you sleep?"

Just as Edith stepped out of the church with a small basket, she met Grivia in front of the square. They greeted each other as they usually did.

"About the same as usual. I didn't have any nightmares or anything." Edith pursed her lips slightly, thought for a moment, and then replied, "Although I still feel a bit uncomfortable, everyone is comforting me. I can't be down for too long."

"That's good. I didn't come for anything special, just to check on you." Grivia nodded to Edith. "Since you're okay, I'll head back to the garrison."

However, she didn't leave immediately as she said. Instead, her eyes fell on Daphne, who was following behind Edith.

At this time, Daphne still maintained the appearance of Elenore Perkins. She was wearing the white Gothic dress that Edith had given her. Her long silver hair was combed smoothly and neatly. The butterfly hairpin inlaid with red and blue gemstones on the silver chain glistened slightly in the sun. Her white silk calves, stepping on the milky white high heels with diamond pieces, moved with a reserved and cautious gait, looking both elegant and cute.

"Good morning, Miss Elenore. Are you getting used to it here?" Grivia also greeted Daphne.

"It's... it's okay♡..." Daphne's voice trembled, and her stance seemed a bit unsteady. "Thank you for your concern, Your Highness the Saintess♡..."

"But your face is a bit red." Grivia was observant. She could tell at a glance that Daphne wasn't quite right. "Are you not feeling well? If so, please let us know in time."

"N-no, it's nothing♡... Maybe I just didn't sleep well last night♡..." Being questioned in a flat tone by the Saintess, Daphne felt nervous and couldn't help but take a step back.

A tinkling sound of silver bells rang out.

"Bells?"

Grivia was puzzled because she didn't notice any bell ornaments on Daphne. And Daphne hadn't made such a sound when she walked out of the church just now.

Daphne's face instantly turned bright red. She stammered, not knowing what to say, and the atmosphere became a bit awkward.

"It's the hairpin, sister. Listen." Edith calmly walked up to Daphne, reached out and flicked the butterfly hairpin on Daphne's head. The long silver chain hung down and swayed gently, making a sound similar to that of bells. "Isn't it pretty? Miss Elenore looks extremely beautiful like this."

"So that's it." Grivia seemed to be thinking. "But if you're not feeling well, it's better to stay in your room and rest."

"I'll take care of Miss Elenore. Don't worry, sister." Edith stood between Grivia and Daphne, giggling softly. "By the way, did you come back late last night? What did you do?"

"The movements of the beast hordes have been very strange recently. I went to do a simple investigation." Grivia didn't tell the truth.

Daphne was a bit surprised. In her perception, Grivia had never lied. How could a robot without emotions deliberately hide something?

"Hmm? Is that really the case?" Edith frowned in dissatisfaction. She could see the unnatural dodge in Grivia's eyes. "Sister has changed. She doesn't tell the truth anymore."

"I'm looking for a half-blood. She has dark red hair and is about this tall." Grivia gave in a bit under Edith's insistence. She gestured at the position below her nose. "She might know where the godfather is. I want to catch her and ask her about it."

"Half-blood?" Edith pretended to be surprised and put on a scared look. "Maybe she's already mixed in with the crowd. What should we do?"

"If you sense any reaction from your bloodline's talent, just let me know as soon as possible." Grivia shook her head.

"Alright, I guess that's the only way." Edith sighed. "Are you going to look for father's whereabouts again today, sister?"

"Yeah, I'm leaving now." Grivia bowed slightly to Edith and Daphne, then turned and left.

Edith stood there, watching Grivia leave until the tall figure disappeared around the corner. Then she turned back and looked at Daphne with a suspicious gaze.

"Father's whereabouts? What's going on?" The blond girl asked in a solemn voice.

"I... I don't know♡..." Daphne was still immersed in the shame of the bells and the bow. Little did she know that just as one trouble was over, another one came. As soon as the sisters exchanged information, they seemed to be pointing the finger at her.

Edith grabbed Daphne's hand and walked quickly. The clear tinkling sound of the silver bells echoed in the square in front of the church. Daphne was so ashamed that she almost wanted to find a hole to bury her face in.

Her mind was almost turned into a pulp by the intense stimulation and shame. She didn't realize it until she was taken to a small alley behind the houses.

At this moment, Edith no longer had a relaxed and comfortable expression. When it came to Bertram, she became serious. He was her adoptive father whom she respected and was most grateful to. Her life had been given new hope because of Bertram.

"Is what sister said true?" Edith pressed Daphne against the brick wall, holding her hand tightly, not caring at all that the white dress was getting dusty. "Is the half-blood she mentioned you?"

"I... I really don't know♡..."

The bow was tied very tightly, and the weight of the two bells wasn't negligible either. Daphne was almost driven crazy by the stimulation and couldn't think of any excuses or countermeasures. She could only shake her head and make a pale denial and excuse.

"Change back." Edith said coldly

.

"Wh-what♡!?"

"Change back." Edith repeated, glaring fiercely at the panicked Daphne with her sea-blue eyes. "Change back to your half-blood form here, right now."
