My Manor

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Someone is in a good mood

"Hey, Lao Jiang, what's wrong with you? You went abroad and didn't tell your wife, so she called me directly!" Jiang Hai woke up from his sleep around eight o'clock in the morning. He had to admit that, although he was disturbed last night, he was in a good mood when he went to bed. After all, the matter between him and Qi Li had finally come to an end. However, as soon as he turned on his phone, he found a series of missed calls, including from Qi Li and Fu Yuan. Jiang Hai wasn't going to return Qi Li's call, but he still needed to return Fu Yuan's. He turned on his phone and called back. As soon as the call connected, Fu Yuan on the other end started yelling. Hearing Fu Yuan's words, Jiang Hai couldn't help rubbing his head and chuckled.

"Uh, I divorced her," Jiang Hai said slowly after hearing Fu Yuan's yelling.

"Divorce? Why? Didn't you just get married less than a year ago? And now you're getting a divorce?" Hearing Jiang Hai's words, Fu Yuan was stunned for a moment and then responded in a strange tone.

"Well, our marriage was actually a mistake from the beginning," Jiang Hai scratched his head and said helplessly. Then he briefly explained his marriage with Qi Li. After hearing Jiang Hai's words, Fu Yuan fell silent. He felt like he was watching a plot from a TV series.

But judging by Jiang Hai's expression, it didn't seem like he was lying, so Fu Yuan was left speechless.

"Is that so? Then let's get divorced. Being together isn't a good thing after all, and we can't always make do with each other... By the way, is your place reliable? I have a fifteen-day holiday during the Chinese New Year. Don't lie to me, I really want to beat up some local tyrants." After hesitating for a moment, Fu Yuan said, before quickly changing the subject. He couldn't help but feel envious of Jiang Hai, who kept showing off on social media, but deep down, he was genuinely happy for his friend.

But, feeling happy for him didn't mean he wouldn't come to beat up some local tyrants.

"No problem, I'm fine. Anyway, I have nothing to do during the Chinese New Year. If you want to come, come. By the way, ask them if they can come. Pay for the tickets yourself, and the rest will be on me." Jiang Hai was now wealthy, so he said it directly. For Jiang Hai, even the tickets weren't much money, but he knew if he didn't make his friends pay for something, they wouldn't want to come no matter what. So he asked them to pay for their own tickets.

"Okay, then I'll apply for a visa and book a ticket. I'll check which day is cheaper and book that day..." Hearing Jiang Hai's words, Fu Yuan smiled, and the two talked for a bit longer before hanging up.

After the call ended, Jiang Hai took a deep breath, his mouth curving into a smile. This kind of life wasn't bad.

"You're in a good mood, go exercise!" Looking at the two dogs circling around, Jiang Hai walked over, scratched the meat on their heads, and said with a smile. He then changed into his sportswear and went downstairs.

Following the flat land next to the villa, Jiang Hai ran toward the sea. Soon, he saw the dock from a distance. However, at that time, there was some noise at the dock, which was usually empty.

Jiang Hai looked carefully and realized it was Edward and Philemon pushing an open boat out of the dock. When they saw Jiang Hai from a distance, they stopped and waved at him.

"Hey, boss, you're very diligent lately. You're still running," Edward said with a smile when he saw Jiang Hai running over.

"This isn't just exercise. What are you doing? Going out to sea?" Hearing Edward's words, Jiang Hai also smiled, looked at the two men in front of him with curiosity, and asked.

"Yes, we're going out to sea. The weather is good today, and I want to check the biological conditions, populations, and numbers in the sea here." Edward nodded slightly and replied with agreement.

"Oh? Then wait a minute, I'll go too!" The open boat that Jiang Hai bought could seat eight people, making it one of the largest open boats. Adding him wouldn't be a problem. The most important thing was that since arriving here, Jiang Hai had never taken a speedboat out to sea. He was excited at the thought.

Hearing Jiang Hai's words, Edward laughed. "That's no problem, but don't worry. We need to test the water here first, set up some nets, check the underwater conditions nearby, and do some preparatory work. We won't head out to sea until the afternoon. You can join us after lunch."

"Okay, then I'll run back first." Hearing they would leave in the afternoon, Jiang Hai was relieved. After saying a few words to Edward, he turned and ran down another path. On the way, he unconsciously picked up speed.

Although Jiang Hai already had a large sea area, technically his private fishing ground, and had bought this manor nearly two months ago, he had never been out to sea. It was impossible for him not to feel some regret.

But today, with the chance to go out to sea, he couldn't help but feel excited.

Even his steps felt lighter. Not long after, he arrived at the second stop on his running route: the stable and cowshed. Everything was normal in the stable. Jiang Hai fed his big horse. Although he hadn't named the horse yet, and hadn't bought a matching saddle, the Shire horse, though too heavy to run fast, could still trot and walk without issue. However, Jiang Hai hadn't ridden it yet due to the lack of a saddle.

This horse was much larger than an average one, so all the saddles needed to be custom-made. Even in the town, he couldn't buy one off the shelf. Fortunately, Robbins had said he could make a saddle when he wasn't too busy. So Jiang Hai hadn't ridden the horse yet, but he had built a good relationship with it.

The horse was locked in the stable, and thanks to Jiang Hai's daily feeding, it was gradually growing in size and strength.

Not only was the horse's intelligence improving, but its muscles and bones were becoming stronger too.

Jiang Hai estimated that if the horse were to be ridden in the future, it would likely be faster than the average Shire horse.

Of course, this was just Jiang Hai's estimation, and no one knew the details.

"You, eat more, and then I'll ride you majestically," Jiang Hai said softly as he stuffed some clean grass into the trough. The horse snorted and ate eagerly.

Jiang Hai's blood had a strong attraction to creatures, and horses were no exception.

Now Jiang Hai could produce eight scales every day, two of which he kept, while the remaining six were transformed into two drops of blood to nourish the pasture. So far, the effect was quite good. Even though it was winter, by next spring, his pasture was expected to become much more vibrant. Just as Jiang Hai was filled with hope for the future, he suddenly heard a burst of screams from the cowshed, along with some shouts. It startled him.

"What's going on?" Hearing the commotion, Jiang Hai quickly threw the remaining grass into the trough and ran toward the cowshed. Fortunately, the horse shed and cowshed were next to each other. After turning a corner, Jiang Hai arrived at the cowshed.

At that moment, several people were outside the cowshed, struggling with a large cow. Jiang Hai remembered that this cow had been one he bought at an auction. At the time, it was quite large, but due to the stench from the cowshed, Jiang Hai hadn't seen it much. Still, he had some impression of it.

Now, five or six men in blue uniforms were holding ropes and pulling the cow hard. Robbins and others were standing by, their faces showing signs of concern.

"Stop! What are you doing?" Seeing the chaos, Jiang Hai immediately shouted.

"Boom boom boom!" Hearing Jiang Hai's roar, the others didn't move, but the two dogs at his feet ran and barked. It's said that dogs who bite don't bark, but this wasn't true for Jiang Hai's dogs.

The reason the dogs barked was because Jiang Hai had instructed them not to bite people casually. However, if anyone threatened Jiang Hai, these two dogs would be the most ruthless.

"Uh..." Seeing Jiang Hai and the two dogs appear, the staff were startled. Jiang Hai was fine, but the dogs were intimidating. They paused, but didn't dare to let go of the ropes. They looked helplessly at three people standing off in the distance. The leader was a white man in his thirties, with a man and a woman behind him. The man was holding a laptop to record something, and the woman was filming with a camera.

"What are you doing? Let go." Seeing they didn't respond to his command, Jiang Hai walked over and was about to pull the men away, but Robbins stopped him.

"Boss, these people are from the Carlett Company," Robbins quickly whispered in Jiang Hai's ear.

"Carlett? What the hell? No matter what company they're from, are you going to just let them mess with our cows?" Hearing Robbins' words, Jiang Hai waved his hand and said, annoyed.

"Carlett Company is the largest livestock company in this area. It can be said that whether we can sell our cattle depends on them."
