My System Arrives 3 Years Earlier, But the Deities Haven't Come Yet

Chapter 70: Chapter 70: What a Corpse!

"Dawn has broken," Zeng Shen murmured to himself as he withdrew his consciousness, slowly exiting the divine realm and returning to reality.

Back in the real world, he rubbed his eyes and stretched, feeling like a teenager who had spent the entire night gaming. The mental exhaustion from the night left him feeling hungry.

He looked out the car window.

At this moment, No. 1, the Divine Energy Vehicle, was smoothly driving along a mountain road, heading towards the next remote village on the western outskirts.

Zeng Shen refocused and summoned the attribute panel, glancing at his current survival points (58,680), and instantly felt invigorated.

"Not bad, I triggered around ten first-time bonuses overnight."

"Only a bit over 40,000 points left to reach 100,000 and activate the purple card lottery wheel."

Feeling pleased, Zeng Shen opened the system log to see how his luck had fared overnight and whether he had encountered any intelligent species.

[System Log]

[Congratulations, your followers have contributed 1,030 faith points.]

[With composure, you traversed a lake teeming with mutant beasts, survival points +1000.]

[With unmatched valor, you safely left the domain of a third-tier wood deity, survival points +1000.]

[You...]

Zeng Shen scrolled through the log, reviewing the night's achievements.

After reading, he closed the panel silently.

"Another night without encountering any intelligent species. It seems relying on this method to quickly farm survival points and find intelligent species isn't easy."

Sighing, Zeng Shen issued a command to No. 1.

"No. 1, find a place to stop."

"Yes, Master."

Responding, No. 1 slowed down, pulling over near a mountainside and stopping.

Zeng Shen opened the car door and looked around, ensuring no one was nearby and no vehicles were on the road.

He then stored No. 1 in his backpack space and headed into the woods on the left.

He crouched in a hidden patch of weeds and took out the Wormhole Set Card, canceling the sub-track point on No. 1.

Marking a large protruding rock next to the weeds as the new sub-track point, he concentrated, and a football-sized black dot appeared before him, exerting a powerful pull.

Instinctively resisting, Zeng Shen found the pull intensifying, becoming overwhelmingly strong.

In an instant, he was drawn into the black dot.

Regaining his senses, Zeng Shen found himself inside the wardrobe in his bedroom, the main track point he had set for the wormhole.

...

After opening the wardrobe, Zeng Shen flopped onto the empty soft bed and fell asleep.

Three hours later, feeling fully refreshed, he awoke, washed up, and headed out, ready to capture the intelligent Wasp Tribe he had discovered the previous evening.

Leaving the apartment, Zeng Shen found a secluded, camera-free road and summoned No. 1 from his backpack.

Quickly getting into the vehicle, he drove towards the Gui Jin abandoned building.

Twenty minutes later, a warning sounded in his ear.

[Warning! Warning! The Gui Jin abandoned building is occupied by a group of intelligent Wasp Tribe and their trained beasts. Approach at your own risk, as you will be seen as an intruder and face a destructive attack. Please leave the area immediately.]

"Leaving isn't an option," Zeng Shen chuckled, driving into the unguarded entrance of the Gui Jin complex and parking.

With a creak, he opened the car door, stepped out, and surveyed the surroundings.

Before him stood a thirty-story high, partially constructed abandoned building.

To the left of the building lay a large open space, with trees planted near the perimeter walls and piles of construction debris, iron barrels, rotten wood, and abandoned machinery overgrown with vines and wild grass.

To the right were numerous abandoned container homes and dormitories.

"Where should I start searching for the Wasp Tribe in this massive abandoned complex?" Zeng Shen pondered.

"The 'bee' in Wasp Tribe suggests they might be bees transformed into an intelligent species after the catastrophe."

Assuming the intelligent species were likely bees, he began examining the imposing Gui Jin abandoned building and its surroundings.

Where might bees build a hive?

Trees, houses, rock faces, or sheltered wall corners were all possibilities.

Deciding to explore the trees along the perimeter and the container dormitories first, he planned to search the tall abandoned building later if necessary.

After spending half an hour checking the trees around the perimeter, Zeng Shen found no beehives.

He then meticulously searched the chaotic container homes and makeshift dormitories on the left side of the building.

After nearly half an hour, Zeng Shen returned to the building's entrance, muttering in frustration, "If they're not in any of those places, they must be inside this abandoned building."

"Hopefully, the bees haven't built their hive too high up, or it'll be quite a climb," he prayed as he entered the building.

Years of neglect left the interior smelling of moldy stone and dirt.

Walking through the dim corridors, a chill wind made Zeng Shen feel uneasy.

He imagined that searching for intelligent species alone in such a building at night would easily conjure terrifying thoughts.

After all, abandoned buildings rarely lacked tales of accidents or hauntings.

For example, it was rumored that beneath Jinhai University lay an ancient battlefield and later a mass grave.

An hour and a half later, Zeng Shen reached the top floor, massaging his aching legs in frustration.

"Could they not be in this building?"

"Did I miss a room?"

Frowning, he began searching each floor carefully from top to bottom.

Reaching the ground floor entrance, he still found no sign of the Wasp Tribe or any system notifications.

If not for the system's warning about the Wasp Tribe, he might have doubted their presence here.

"Could they be in some easily overlooked corner of the Gui Jin complex?"

It seemed possible, given that he'd searched everywhere.

Just as Zeng Shen pondered where the Wasp Tribe might have built their hive, he noticed a small bee gathering nectar from a wildflower nearby.

His eyes lit up, and he concentrated, casting an Eye of Insight on the bee.

[A beast carcass that perished in the catastrophe.]

"Damn, it's just a carcass," he muttered in disbelief.
