Chapter 45: Head full of Hormone
Bill was out cold the moment he got hit by those insignificant-looking chopsticks.
Bill was a light yellow rank spiritualist, a minor level lower than Jon. So, he is considered to be one of the strongest in terms of power in the city. So, he never imagined someone could have as much power to knock him out in a single shot, and without even letting him put his guard up.
He was directly knocked out by the surprise attack.
Berdly was still standing by the stairs.
He didn't even understand what happened just now.
On one side, he saw the birdman of the Alden house already put those goons to sleep. And then, the still fine Bill, who wasn't even in the fight, was blown away from the center of the shop and shot past him like a bullet.
Berdly looked at the position Bill was standing first. Then at the middle-aged man, and then at Bill who was still stuck to the wall. If the middle-aged man had been sitting even a foot to the left, that dammed Bill would have crushed onto him.
And not being a cultivator, he had no doubt that would have killed him on the stop.
He was very frightened thinking of the possibility.
He could only look at the man and say, "Master Adams, please be careful when you are in the shop. That was a bit dangerous." –Berdly said in a shaky voice.
"Oh, Mr. Berdly. Please don't worry. I wouldn't want anybody to get involved in the crossfire. I was very mindful of my actions. You can be assured in that front." –Adams.
'Yeah, right. It was totally my luck that I came out alive this time.' –Berdly thought. But he couldn't say that. So, instead, he bowed to him and said.
"Thank you for your consideration. Without you, the situation might have been more difficult to deal with." –he said.
"No worries. It was nothing much." –Adams shook both his hands.
The matter about Adams stopped at that. And Elena was looking at Adams this time.
No matter what Berdly believed or not, she knew this man was in control the whole time.
The first hit was a needle to stop Bill from attacking Olen.
Then he got up and moved a step to the right before throwing his spirit-infused chopsticks so he didn't accidentally injure Berdly, who was standing behind Bill.
That was enough for Elena to know how aware he was of his surroundings.
On the other hand, the birdman heaved a sigh of relief.
His name is Antony.
He is one of Aliotte's men. She asked him to keep an eye on Olen while she brings Jon as her muscle.
When he saw the trouble, he didn't think it would be any problem for Olen.
But things started to go bad very fast. So he had to hurry.
That was still fine. The problem occurred when even after showing himself and announcing the name of the Aldens, that bastard didn't stop.
Those guys came at him all at once.
So, he missed the opportunity to even explain.
He could shout out Olen's true identity, but would they even believe it? They would say he was just trying to buy time.
So, he solely focused on going full force to make way towards the young master.
But soon, he realized he was still too slow.
These guys just didn't go down in a single punch. But the god in the heavens didn't turn their face from him.
They sent an angel in the form of a man who got the young master saved.
He was crying with joy inside his heart. His boss is a ruthless one. He didn't know what she would do to him if he failed. On top of that, there is Jon. And not to mention the Baroness.
He was sure he would die if anything were to happen to the young master.
This situation is so bad.
Normally, he would always have a partner to do this type of job.
But since the location was near the mansion, and all available personnel were busy with different tasks since a week ago, it was only him in today's guard duty.
He would surely give this Bill to Jon for giving him such a hard time out of nowhere.
He tied up all the culprits with his crying hurt.
"Young master, you can't stay here any longer. That was dangerous. You must return with me." –Antony said, bringing Olen to a side. He has had enough of this. He can't do this high-risk job alone anymore.
"Okay…" –Olen said. He wasn't too happy with what happened either.
"It's alright. You don't need to care about Olen. I'm here with him. You may leave to give your report." –Elena suddenly appeared behind Antony.
"Whaooo…" –that gave him a fright.
Elena just stood there wearing her veil.
"Who are you?" –Antony asked.
"Well, it seems not everyone knows of me yet. But you don't need to be nervous. I'm his teacher. You can call me Miss Aniston." –Elena said.
"Oh, it's you, Miss. I know you. I just didn't recognize you." –Antony got a little flustered.
How could he not?
There was a gorgeous lady in front of him. And it's not just your average gorgeous, but a 'Gorgeous' gorgeous.
"Mmm, are you sure? That was quite a risky situation back there. Shouldn't we go back quickly before some other problem comes by?"
"Oh, this is no trouble at all. You didn't see me, but I was right beside him. If anything bad happened, I would have protected him. So you don't have to worry even a bit. I got this covered." –Elena assured.
Elena was famous among the guards. Not just because of her beauty. It's true that she doesn't get out much, but you can't hide honey from a bee, can you?
Everyone in the Alden Mansion knew about this beauty who was appointed as the teacher of the third Young Master. And they envy him to the core.
But people who hang out with Jon knew her differently. Whenever there was a talk about beauties going on, which is all the time, Elena's name would come all the time.
But each time it came up, Jon would directly shut them up and say, "Don't even think about it." Or "She is a Monster." Or "You can't say from the outside, but she is a thousand-year-old witch."
At first, the others were just saying he was talking like that because he got beat up, but Jon was saying the same thing all the time.
His repeated claims made people think Jon might be telling the truth and start looking at her differently.
Antony also knew some eyewitnesses to the fight, saying she was crazy strong after seeing her fight with Jon.
All this evidence points out that she might really be the old monster that Jon says she is.
But here's the thing about men. They don't care about the age or race of the women as long as they don't show their true face to you directly.
So, the situation now is this, Elena was admired for her beauty by everyone except for the most perverted person in the Alden house.
And right now, Antony was standing in front of her, remembering everything he knew of her to make a decision…
No, just kidding, there was no thinking.
"Okay…" –he directly said yes.
So, what would happen at worst now?
The young master is okay and under the care of his teacher. The culprits are apprehended.
Yes, by protocol, he should bring him back. But when a woman like Elena tells you to do it, you just do it.
At worst, he would just get punished a bit.
But Antony was Okay with that.
After bowing to her once, he brought these goons back to the Mansion.
After Antony left, Elena looked at Olen.
"Sorry." –that is the first thing that came out of his mouth.
"You better be." –Elena said. "You knew that was dangerous. So, why did you do it?"
Olen didn't say anything.
Elena looked at her stupid disciple irritatedly.
Who does he think he is? A prince charming saving a woman?
"Listen. You could have been hurt right there. What if I weren't there? Would you still do it? And if you are relying on someone to save you should always try to stand closer to them. What if he was too fast for me to save you? Didn't you see I couldn't even make it there before the other guy took care of him?" –Elena said while pointing at Adams.
She wasn't sure what Olen was thinking.
Boys are so complicated.
It was pretty heroic of him when he tried to save Ginia. She was sure that, like all boys, he must have felt a sense of urgency to protect the lady. But he had no idea of what to do next.
He stood strong because he knew nothing would happen to him there. But he was still frightened.
Elena knew all this because the moment he got Ginia away from Bill, he was inching bit by bit toward Elena while looking at her from the corner of his eye. Desperately wanting to scream and ask for help.
Yet he didn't. She believes he didn't scream because he didn't want to look pathetic to that woman. So instead, he stood in front of her like a shield.
Elena just doesn't get it. Where do these boys find this sense of heroism? If he knew that he wasn't strong enough, then he should have stayed away from the danger. Why do they have to jump head first and think later?
What do these teenage boys think with their stupid brains? Is there anything but hormones up there?
