My Upgrades are Invincible. Rewrite

Chapter 89: Chapter 89

Honestly... Running to the beach when the city was engulfed in flames was a lot easier than on the way out of the city, trying to run past all the fleeing civilians and adventurers who wanted nothing to do with the Amphisbaena.

And as for the Amphisbaena... It had now made landfall, and Eris and the other mages had proven lacking in having the sheer brute power in order to deal with the thing in any meaningful way.

As although the Amphisbaena was blinded via my cursed bolt. It was an underwater serpent creature, it could 'see' with its thermal vents, echolocation, along with some form of magical sensory system.

'Which was why the Amphisbaena was actually remarked to being far more dangerous in the water inside the dungeon beyond humanity not fighting that well underwater. It was just simply damn near omniscient of its surroundings underwater.

But this Amphisbaena wasn't underwater. So although it had a feel for the area, it was still visually blind in all four of its surviving heads.

Regardless though, even if the monster was blind, I didn't run straight up to it like a dumbass... I knew all too damned well that it was hilariously out of my league unless I cracked open the high-end explosives I had fused together.

And if I did that, then it was likely for me to get in trouble as the explosives were made to blow up the Zeus Familia headquarters... And with how the Hades and Poseidon Familia were just blown up? Yeah, really bad optics for me to be chucking explosives right now.

I thankfully got to the mansion. Which was of fucking course on fire. 'Whelp multi-elemental breath attacking kaiju rushing up the beach, I would be surprised if my house wasn't damaged. But being on fire is a bit much.'

But even as I be-moaned my burnt-down house... And most importantly the fucking Two-Way Cabinet, that allowed me to travel back and forth from Melen to Orario.

I got to the Sword Array and I grinned as I replaced the simple swords that were in its configuration to... Ultra Greatswords. Sure the blades may dull, and it will take more monster stones to run the array.

But the blades were far less likely to break like the other blades.

And with a loud thrumming noise the three dozens ultra greatswords flew into the air and with loud crashing noises they slammed into the heads and necks of the Amphisbaena which roared in pain at the impacts.

'The array doesn't have enough force... Wait a minute.' I mused before I took the Sword Array, and I fused the mountain stones I had made previously and used to crush the Green Dragons I fought previously.

[Mountain Sword Array- Increases the force and weight of all swords in the array by thirty times and increases the speed of all downward falling blades by an additional twenty times.]

And with that the Amphisbaena's level eight scales... Gave under the weight of the overwhelming heavy falling swords. But that was just it.

I was now doing the damage of a level six melee specialist while pissing away tens of thousands of Valis every single second of operating the Sword Array directly with my mind.

A loud voice enhanced with magic rang out, and I realized it was Riveria speaking as she ordered. "Mages! Aim for the crystal head, its got the best defenses so deal with it now!"

I saw Elanor's wood spell come to life again with powerful vines and thick wooden posts growing up from the ground to surround and pull the crystal-themed head of the monster down with a loud crash into the ground even as my ultra great swords went to work slamming into the crystal head of the monster.

After a moment I saw a rainbow of various elemental magic slamming into the single head with a massive explosion ringing out that made me stagger and I felt the sword array connection flicker with the force of the explosions and the amount of mana clogging up the connection between the swords.

But as the smoke cleared I had already set up another smaller siege crossbow as a beam of compressed flames shot out and raked over several buildings in the distance blowing them up and incinerating anything that was in the path of the beam of destruction.

A loud thunk rang out as I shot the Bolt of Cookie Bones into the Amphisbaena and I grinned as the large bolt slammed home into the Amphisbaena with it gurgling in pain as it staggered as I had hit it directly in the wrecked crystalline head.

With the crystals and scales gone, my bolt was able to pierce deeply and the curse that turned the bones of the monster into cookies was able to take effect... But it seems the monster's magical resistance was a thing for such a powerful curse.

But a powerful magical resistance didn't come from nothing, it came from the monsters, monster stones, it came from their own magical and physical stores of energy. And the more curses its body had to fight off. The weaker its body overall became.

"Dammit!" I cursed as just like before the fucking Amphisbaena turned its head towards me seemingly knowing my ass with my cursed bolts were actually causing the most damage and as the fire head formed another beam of destruction in its mouth to blow up my general area.

I did the smart thing...

"Diggy diggy hole!" I yelled as I threw all the ground below me into my inventory and I fell a dozen meters underground until I hit bedrock. And then above my head, I threw up a flood of loose dirt and gravel with dozens of gallons of water atop the gravel to form a small pond atop my form.

My hearing? Utterly gone as bright light shot through the dirt as the torch of super-heated plasma and power raked over where I previously was with a vengeance... And the fucking beam seemingly stayed there until even buried under all the debris and a literal pond atop me I heard the Amphisbaena scream in pain.

As someone had taken advantage of the damned thing focusing on me.

But... Even buried I was not just sitting here like a dumbass. That very person taking advantage of the Amphisbaena was me as I controlled the Sword Array to form a line of Ultra Greatswords that slammed into the same general spot in a row on the stop of the fire-spewing head.

And finally with a loud cracking noise with the Amphisbaena's beam of plasma 'fire' being cut off, one of my great swords cracked the plasma skulls head open and sank the large blade to the hilt into the brain matter of that skull... And then like a blender began violently spinning to kill off that head.

Leaving two healthy heads, and the already mostly crippled crystal head on the Amphisbaena... We were making progress with all the powerful mages.

But Melen was already completely wrecked and literally tens of thousands were dead already at this point, no matter what happens next.

And I had one little issue. 'I am running low on Mana... Fucking A, mana potions are a bitch and a half.' I thought with a grimace as I downed the third magic potion and I made a space for me to breathe while still hiding underground.
