Chapter 12: Breakfast With My Cute Wives
Alan returned home, the weight of his training still heavy on his shoulders. The sun poured through the windows, casting a warm glow over the cozy interior of their home. He opened the door to find both Elena and Christiana still sleeping peacefully.
He paused for a moment, a wave of uncertainty washing over him. Just a day ago he had found out that he had married these two gorgeous women, at first he didn't know what to do, they were as hopeless as him about the situation. But now he wanted to know everything about them, get close to them, their likes, and dislikes, and gain their trust, and with that Alan found himself excited about their new life together.
" I should make breakfast," he whispered, trying to shake off his nerves. He slipped quietly into the kitchen, where the familiar scents confronted him. The clean countertops gleamed in the morning light, and he was determined to impress them with something hearty and delicious.
As he rummaged through the cupboards, he decided on omelets and pancakes—simple, yet satisfying.
Cracking eggs and mixing the batter with rhythmic motions.A few minutes later, the smell of sizzling eggs filled in the air, rich and savory. Alan felt a sense of accomplishment.
Just then, he heard rustle behind him. He turned to see Elena emerging from her room, her hair tousled and her expression still groggy. Sunlight framed her figure, casting a soft halo around her. She rubbed her eyes and blinked at him, still half-asleep.
"What's happening?" she asked, tilting her head slightly, her voice thick with sleep.
"Good morning! I'm making breakfast," Alan replied, trying to sound upbeat despite the flutter in his stomach.
Elena raised an eyebrow, a hint of skepticism in her gaze. "You? Cooking?"
"Hey, I can manage a few things!" he said defensively. "I figured I'd give it a shot."
Before Elena could respond, Christiana appeared, her eyes bright and full of energy, bouncing into the kitchen like a ray of sunshine. "Did someone say breakfast? I'm in!"
Alan felt a rush of relief at Christian's enthusiasm. "Yeah! I'm making omelets and pancakes."
"Yay!" Christiana clapped her hands, her smile lighting up the kitchen. She rushed to the counter, her bubbly personality infectious, as she grabbed a whisk and started mixing the eggs with a joyful flourish.
Elena watched for a moment, then moved to the fridge. "What can I do?" she asked, her tone still cautious but her interest piqued.
"Could you grab some cheese and maybe some veggies for the omelets?" Alan suggested, hoping to involve her.
"Fine," Elena replied, grabbing a block of cheese and some colorful bell peppers. As she worked, Alan couldn't help but admire her focus. Even in this casual setting, she radiated a warrior's determination, her movements precise and efficient.
As Alan flipped pancakes in the pan, the golden-brown circles puffed up perfectly, filling the kitchen with a mouthwatering aroma. Christiana danced around, her laughter ringing out as she whisked the eggs with a big grin on her face. "I can't wait to eat!"
Just then, Alan fumbled with a pancake, and it flopped awkwardly onto the counter instead of the plate.
"Nice catch!" Elena said, a smirk tugging at her lips.
"Yeah, I meant to do that," Alan joked, trying to play it off. "A little pancake acrobatics!" He chuckled, the moment easing some of his tension.
Christiana giggled, her laughter like music. "haha, so funny, Alan!"
Elena rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the smile spreading across her lips. "Just don't get too cocky. You might end up with flour in your hair next."
"Too late!" Alan replied, tousling his hair dramatically, letting the white powder flutter down like confetti. "I'm already a flour warrior!"
Christiana clapped her hands in delight, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "A flour warrior? Now that's a title worthy of a hero!"
Alan took a playful step closer to Christiana, the space between them charged with warmth. "But every hero needs a strong ally by their side. What do you say, Christiana? Care to join me in battle?"
Christiana's cheeks flushed slightly, and she crossed her arms, trying to maintain her composure.
"Only if you promise not to drop any more pancakes. I can't have my warrior looking foolish."
"Oh, I'll make sure to impress you," Alan replied, his voice low and teasing. "But I might need a little… encouragement."
With the playful banter swirling around them, Kael felt a spark of connection growing. The laughter, the teasing—it all felt like the start of something special.
As they finally set the table, Alan brought over the plates stacked high with golden pancakes and fluffy omelets, the vibrant colors of the veggies peeking through. "Voila! Breakfast is served!"
Christiana's eyes sparkled with excitement as she dug in, her fork clinking against the plate. "This looks amazing! I can't wait to taste it!"
Elena took a cautious bite, her expression shifting from skepticism to delight. "Wow, this is good!" she admitted, a smile breaking across her face as she savored the flavors.
Alan's heart swelled at their enjoyment. "See? I told you I could cook!"
Christiana chewed with a grin, her mouth full. "You're officially the best pancake maker ever, Alan!"
Elena rolled her eyes playfully at Christiana's antics but couldn't suppress her laughter. "Just remember who the real warrior is here. I can still out-cook you any day."
"Challenge accepted!" Alan said, raising his fork like a sword. "But only if you promise there are rewards."
Elena's cheeks turned a light shade of pink as she met his gaze. "And what kind of reward are you thinking?"
Alan just smiled, letting her discover the reward.
As they continued to eat, the atmosphere felt light and warm. The morning sun bathed them in a golden hue, and Alan caught Elena stealing glances at him when she thought he wasn't looking, a faint blush on her cheeks.
"Alan," Christiana said between bites, "we should have breakfast together like this more often. It's so much fun!"
"Yeah," Elena added, her voice softer now. "It feels… nice."
Alan felt a rush of warmth at their words. "I agree. This is what I want—us together, sharing moments like this."
Suddenly, Christiana leaned over, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "So, Alan, how does it feel to have two beautiful wives?"
Alan chuckled, his heart racing a little. "Don't know, you should ask someone with beautiful wives."
Hearing this both of them stopped eating, glaring at him as if their looks could kill him instantly.
"Haha, sorry, I was joking," Alan stopped teasing them, didn't want to be killed by them.
Christiana, a smirk on her lips, leaned closer as well, her voice teasing. "You better remember that, or you might end up with cold pancakes next time."
"Or burnt eggs," Elena chimed in.
As they finished their meal, Christiana leaned back in her chair, a playful glint in her eye. "So, what's next? A cooking competition?"
Alan raised an eyebrow, feeling the playful challenge. "How about a pancake flip-off? The loser does the dishes!"
"Deal!" Elena said, her competitive spirit shining through.
With the warmth of their laughter echoing around them, Alan knew this was just the start of something wonderful.
