Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Uzumaki Chito stood unscathed, a sneer playing on his lips as he regarded Hidan and Kakuzu with disdain.
The two were incensed. To them, Uzumaki Chito's indifference was a blatant insult.
"Kakuzu, cooperate with me!" Hidan shouted angrily, his pride refusing to accept the possibility that they couldn't even scratch Uzumaki Chito's defenses.
Kakuzu shook his head, a sigh of resignation escaping his lips. This was, without a doubt, the strongest opponent they had ever encountered. Every attack they had launched so far had been utterly ineffective.
Still, Hidan held onto one hope: if he could just obtain a single drop of Uzumaki Chito's blood, his curse might turn the tide.
Kakuzu lunged forward, aiming to restrain Uzumaki Chito, while Hidan swung his massive scythe with all his might toward Chito's raised arm.
Clang!
The deafening sound of metal striking an impenetrable surface echoed through the air. Despite their combined efforts, neither Kakuzu's nor Hidan's attacks could pierce Uzumaki Chito's defenses.
Panting heavily, the two stood back, their confidence shaken. A hint of fear crept into their eyes as they stared at the unmoving figure before them. Even Hidan, devout in his faith in Jashin, found himself unnerved by the sheer invulnerability of Uzumaki Chito.
"What the hell are you?" Hidan demanded, his breath ragged.
His voice was filled with disbelief. This… this wasn't human. No creature, not even the legendary tailed beasts, could withstand such attacks without suffering even the slightest injury. Yet Uzumaki Chito remained untouched.
"God," Uzumaki Chito replied simply, the corners of his mouth curling into a faint smile.
"God? Hah!" Hidan spat, his eyes narrowing. "Arrogant fool! The only true god is Jashin!"
Even in the face of overwhelming power, Hidan refused to acknowledge Uzumaki Chito's claim. His faith in Jashin remained unshaken.
"Lord Uzumaki Chito, we were too presumptuous," Kakuzu interjected, beginning to pull back from the fight. It was clear to him that continuing would only lead to their deaths.
But before they could retreat, Uzumaki Chito's next action made them freeze in place.
With an almost casual motion, Uzumaki Chito extended his hand and made a small incision on his own arm. Blood trickled out, coalescing into a crimson orb that floated in his palm.
"Do you want to try? Curse me with my own blood?" Uzumaki Chito's tone was calm yet laced with a chilling edge. The way he offered his blood was almost taunting—an invitation that was impossible to refuse.
Hidan hesitated. Even he, often deemed a madman, felt a flicker of unease. Uzumaki Chito's composure and audacity were unnerving.
"You're insane," Hidan muttered, though the words sounded more like an admission than an insult.
Despite the unease, Hidan's pride as a devout follower of Jashin wouldn't allow him to back down. He lunged forward and snatched the blood orb from Uzumaki Chito's hand.
As Hidan held the blood, he immediately sensed that this wasn't ordinary. It was heavier than expected and teeming with an immense amount of chakra. This single drop of blood carried more energy than even the combined reserves of the legendary Sannin.
With a wicked grin, Hidan began carving his curse formation into the ground, using Uzumaki Chito's blood to complete the ritual. The crimson liquid flowed into his own body, and he licked a portion of it from his hand, his expression turning cruel.
"Prepare to die," Hidan sneered.
Without hesitation, he began stabbing himself with his weapon, the curse activating as intended.
"Die! Die! You'll feel the same pain I do!" Hidan cackled, his laughter echoing maniacally as he drove his weapon into his own body over and over.
To Hidan, this was a trivial sacrifice. His immortality ensured that no wound would ever kill him, and his curse guaranteed that Uzumaki Chito would share his suffering.
Yet… nothing happened.
Uzumaki Chito stood motionless, entirely unaffected. He didn't even flinch. The sight left the others—including those who knew the nature of Hidan's curse—completely bewildered.
Hidan's laughter faltered. Weak and confused, he looked up at Uzumaki Chito, whose calm, indifferent gaze was now tinged with something resembling disdain.
"H-How are you… okay? Impossible! This is impossible!" Hidan stammered, his voice breaking with disbelief.
"All curses are powerless in the face of absolute strength," Uzumaki Chito replied matter-of-factly. "Your curse may work on ordinary people, but against me? It's meaningless."
The blood of Uzumaki Chito wasn't ordinary. It was divine, far beyond what Hidan's cursed ritual could handle.
Only a true god could curse Uzumaki Chito. And Hidan… Hidan was no god. He was merely a devout believer.
Uzumaki Chito's voice dropped, carrying a note of finality. "I'll give you one more chance. Summon the Jashin you worship. If you can't… you'll die here."
Before Hidan could respond, Uzumaki Chito's figure flickered, and in an instant, he was standing directly in front of him. The overwhelming pressure of Chito's presence forced Hidan to his knees, his body trembling uncontrollably.
While Hidan had been performing his curse, Uzumaki Chito had sensed something—a faint presence watching from the shadows. It had felt like an otherworldly gaze, almost as if Jashin himself had taken notice.
"Interesting," Uzumaki Chito murmured, a faint smile playing on his lips.
