Naruto: Destroy the Sarutobi Clan At the Beginning

Chapter 122: Chapter 124

Kirito observed the Forest of Death, the infamous examination site where the second round of the Chunin Exams would take place. The test involved collecting scrolls from other teams, which inevitably meant combat, injury, and possibly death. Each candidate was given half an hour to decide whether to sign a waiver acknowledging the risks.

Seated on a large boulder, Raiun (Uchiha Itachi's alias) nonchalantly signed his name using his left hand. His eyes, however, remained fixed on Kirito. "What kind of deal do you have with Orochimaru?" he asked, his voice low and cold.

Kirito, twirling a pencil between his fingers, signed his alias "Shigure" with a smirk. "Does it matter to you? Or are you worried about Orochimaru targeting your precious little brother?"

Itachi's expression remained neutral, but there was a glint of something in his eyes. "I don't care about Sasuke's fate. What concerns me is your connection with Orochimaru. If you've betrayed the organization, I will inform the leader without hesitation."

The tension between them thickened. Itachi's Sharingan activated, his three tomoe spinning ominously. His crumpled waiver revealed his internal turmoil.

Kirito raised an eyebrow, his tone turning icy. "What's this? Are you thinking of attacking me? Haven't I told you before—you won't get another chance to make a move."

Sensing the brewing hostility, Fine Rain (Pakura's alias) quickly stepped beside Kirito, her posture defensive.

Itachi, unfazed by the threat, silently transitioned his Sharingan into its Mangekyō Sharingan, clearly signaling his stance.

Before the situation could escalate, a stern voice called out, "Hey! What do you think you're doing? No fighting before the exam starts!"

Kirito sighed inwardly as Yuhi Kurenai approached. She had clearly gone through the participant list and recognized him despite his disguise.

"We're just joking around," Kirito replied with a sheepish smile, brushing past Itachi. As he did, he whispered, "The deal with Orochimaru is simple: he provides me with information about the Fourth Kazekage, and in return, I don't interfere with his plans until the Konoha collapse begins. Believe it or not, that's all there is to it."

Itachi remained silent, his Mangekyō deactivating as his gaze shifted to Kurenai. He was surprised to see her here, though he quickly masked his reaction.

"You're such a headache," Kurenai muttered under her breath as she reached Kirito. In a louder voice, she warned, "Be careful next time. That goes for you two as well!"

Kirito scratched the back of his head and responded playfully, "Understood. I'll behave." Then, leaning closer to her, he whispered, "Don't worry. If your students are in danger, I'll make sure they're safe."

Kurenai's expression softened for a moment before she quickly regained her stern demeanor. "This won't happen again," she said before walking away, leaving Kirito with a faint smile on his lips.

Half an hour later, the candidates handed in their signed waivers and received their scrolls. The scrolls were divided into two types: Heaven and Earth. The goal was to collect one of each and reach the designated tower within five days.

Kirito's team received an extra Heaven Scroll, courtesy of their unique situation as unexpected participants.

Mitarashi Anko, the proctor for the second round, addressed the gathered candidates. "Listen up, maggots! There are 27 teams and only 13 matching pairs of scrolls. That means at least 42 of you are guaranteed to fail. Now get moving!"

With her announcement, the 27 teams dispersed into the forest.

Once inside the Forest of Death, Itachi spoke up. "I'm going to find Sasuke."

Kirito narrowed his eyes and said sharply, "Let me remind you, the only reason you could take down Orochimaru last time was because he underestimated your Sharingan. If you provoke him now, it could lead to an all-out battle. If he uses the Impure World Reincarnation, the consequences will be catastrophic."

Itachi paused, his gaze unreadable, before vanishing into the trees.

Fine Rain turned to Kirito. "What should we do now, Lord Kirito?"

"We'll secure a scroll first," Kirito replied, his tone calm as he scanned their surroundings with his Observation Haki. He focused on three groups: Sasuke's, Karin's, and Hinata's.

Forming a hand seal, Kirito created two shadow clones. He assigned one to follow Karin's team, ensuring her survival at the right moment. "She's got potential," he muttered, recalling her healing abilities. "Better suited for Tsunade's training than certain others."

The second clone was dispatched to Hinata's team. Though they had been safe in the original timeline, Kirito wasn't about to leave things to chance.

As for himself, Kirito decided to follow Sasuke's team. Watching Sasuke struggle always amused him, and he wanted to keep an eye on Itachi to ensure he didn't deviate from their plan.

With Pakura by his side, Kirito moved through the forest with ease. He wasn't worried about finding Sasuke—it was only a matter of time before the "filial son" stirred up trouble.

"Let's go," Kirito said, his lips curving into a smirk. "If we run into anyone unlucky, we'll take their scroll. Otherwise, I want a front-row seat to Sasuke's next beating."
