Naruto: Dual System Power At The Beginning

Chapter 44: Chapter 44:- Ryosuke's Refusal

The next morning, Ryosuke was still engaging in physical training to achieve an increase in his physical attributes.

Although getting beaten up could improve his body, it wasn't feasible to always seek out Might Guy; after all, that wasn't a long-term solution.

It wasn't practical to keep sparring seriously with Guy either, as it would be damaging to both parties.

Ryosuke could rely on his strong recovery ability to heal himself by the next day, but the same couldn't be said for Guy.

If Guy sustained injuries, it could interfere with his daily life, something Ryosuke didn't wish to see.

Moreover, while Ryosuke didn't need to worry about earning money and could focus solely on training, Guy didn't have that luxury.

He was a commoner ninja and couldn't neglect missions indefinitely.

If their sparring caused injuries that hindered Guy's missions, leading to failure or even death, it wasn't something Ryosuke wanted.

While training alone, a man wearing a mask appeared not far from him.

Ryosuke sensed the presence of the visitor and stopped his actions.

"What are you here for? Has the Third Hokage finally decided to properly protect Naruto?"

Maybe the Third Hokage had some sense of responsibility after all.

Kakashi, however, sighed inwardly and spoke slowly.

"The Third Hokage instructed me to tell you not to approach Naruto anymore."

This left Ryosuke a little stunned. Although he felt some resentment, now wasn't the time to clash with the Third Hokage.

"So, how are you planning to deal with Naruto? Are you going to make his identity public?"

This was what he cared about most at the moment.

Kakashi thought about it and decided to share the Third Hokage's decision with Ryosuke, as it wasn't a classified village secret.

After hearing Kakashi's words, Ryosuke's expression changed.

They were actually treating the villagers' mockery and hatred of Naruto as a test.

Such a grandiose justification.

It was just like the case of Gaara, the Jinchuriki of the Sand Village, whose father constantly arranged for people to provoke and even assassinate him, eventually sending Yashamaru, who had been kind to Gaara, to kill him.

In the end, Gaara used Shukaku's power to kill the assassin, only to discover that it was his own uncle. This realization nearly drove him insane.

From that moment on, Gaara almost completely became a killing machine.

Had it not been for Naruto later, he would likely have fully descended into darkness.

His father's actions were also intended to test Gaara.

Only those who had experienced darkness and still loved their village were deemed trustworthy, qualified Jinchuriki.

But in Ryosuke's eyes, such actions were utterly foolish.

The reality proved that the Fourth Kazekage's approach was wrong.

Even though Gaara later became loyal to the Sand Village, it wasn't thanks to his father but to Gaara learning from Naruto—Naruto deserved the credit.

Ryosuke stared at Kakashi.

"Do you also agree with this so-called test?"

Kakashi, feeling regretful, nodded slightly.

"This is the Hokage's decision."

Although he didn't entirely agree, he had no authority to change it.

Seeing Kakashi's demeanor, Ryosuke felt disappointed. He thought Kakashi was failing the legacy of the Fourth Hokage as his student.

"I remember the White Fang of Konoha was similarly driven to suicide due to the villagers' insults."

"Was that also a test by the Konoha leadership? Do you think such tests are necessary?"

Kakashi's expression changed upon hearing this.

His father had been a hero of Konoha but chose to save his comrades over completing a mission, which led to villagers condemning him behind his back—even the comrades he saved joined in the criticism.

In the end, his father took his own life.

Of course, Kakashi didn't believe his father was a criminal.

People who disregarded their comrades were worse than trash.

But what could he do? Everyone in the village thought that way and believed his father was wrong.

Maybe this, too, was a test imposed by the Konoha leadership on his father.

But his father couldn't endure it and ended up committing suicide.

Perhaps Naruto might follow in his father's footsteps.

Perhaps Naruto shouldn't have to undergo such a test.

Naruto was still so young, and Kakashi didn't believe he could bear it.

Even his father couldn't.

He spoke slowly.

"I don't agree, but this is the Hokage's order."

Ryosuke's face lit up with a faint smile.

It seemed Kakashi wasn't beyond redemption.

"Go back and tell the Third Hokage this: 'The Uchiha clan can associate with whoever they wish. Tell him to stay out of it'."

"Even if he's the Hokage, he has no right to meddle in the affairs of the Uchiha."

If the Third Hokage wasn't going to give Naruto a happy childhood, then Ryosuke would take it upon himself to do so.

Kakashi was stunned by Ryosuke's words.

He had initially thought Ryosuke was an exception within the Uchiha, like Obito, lacking the arrogance typical of the clan.

But now he realized he was wrong.

In this moment, Ryosuke seemed more proud than most Uchiha.

He asked in shock, "Are you really going to do this?"

The relationship between the Konoha leadership and the Uchiha clan was already strained.

If Ryosuke clashed with the Third Hokage, the consequences could be severe.

It wasn't about taking sides but about the potential harm to the village if a major clan opposed the leadership.

Ryosuke nodded.

Even if he stood against the Third Hokage, what did it matter?

If they wanted to act against the Uchiha, it wouldn't be until after the peace talks with the Hidden Cloud Village.

The situation with the Cloud was already enough for the Third Hokage to deal with.

Despite the Cloud Village being at fault, the Hyuga Clan had to sacrifice Hiashi's brother, Hizashi, as a scapegoat.

Although this resolved the conflict, it completely lost the Hyuga Clan's loyalty.

Among the Hokage's subordinates, there were no members of the Hyuga.

Kakashi wanted to say more but held back.

He didn't believe he could persuade someone as proud as Ryosuke.

Moreover, he couldn't change the Third Hokage's decision either.

He vanished into the forest.

After seeing Kakashi disappear, Ryosuke resumed his training. Improving his strength remained the most reliable trump card.

After leaving the Uchiha clan's forest, Kakashi headed straight to the Hokage's office.

The Third Hokage, upon seeing Kakashi arrive, asked, "Did you deliver my message to Ryosuke?"

He was very concerned about this matter. The more Ryosuke interacted with Naruto, the more it disrupted his plans.

He needed to keep Naruto, this crucial piece, firmly under his control.

Kakashi responded truthfully, "Hokage-sama, he refused."

The Third Hokage made a sound of acknowledgment but then showed a slight change in expression.
