Chapter 85: Chapter 7:Land of Iron!

Team 7 stood before the massive gates of the Land of Iron. Snow fell gently, coating the surroundings in pristine white. The imposing samurai stationed near the gates stood tall in their gleaming armor, their eyes scanning every ninja who approached. Kakashi stepped forward, his expression calm as he handed over the entry passes for the Chunin Exams.

The samurai inspected the passes carefully before nodding and stepping aside. "You may enter," one of them said in a gruff voice.

As the gates creaked open, Team 7 entered, their white cloaks blending with the snowy environment. The cloaks shielded them from the cold.

Naruko clutched her cloak tightly and gazed around with wide eyes. "Wow! This place is amazing. It's so different from Konoha," she said, her breath visible in the cold air.

Hitomi nodded, her eyes scanning the area cautiously. "The architecture here is fascinating, but don't let your guard down. This is neutral territory, but we can't forget we'll be surrounded by competitors soon."

Yuto walked beside them, his green eyes sparkling with curiosity. 'So this is the Land of Iron. A country without ninja but filled with samurai. I wonder how strong they are compared to shinobi. The only one to truly stand out in the Anime was Mifune.'

Kakashi glanced back at his team and spoke, "Stay close. This is your first time in a foreign country, and we don't want to draw unnecessary attention."

As they moved further into the country, the streets bustled with activity. Merchants called out to potential customers, their stalls brimming with exotic goods and some even had nice quality swords. Samurai patrolled the area, their disciplined movements a stark contrast to the more casual demeanor of the ninjas who had started gathering for the exams.

Naruko's excitement was palpable. "This is so much better than the Waterfall Village! I mean, that place was just depressing."

Yuto's expression darkened slightly at the mention of the Waterfall Village. 'Fuu didn't deserve what she went through there. I'm glad Hokage-sama took steps to protect her.'

Speaking of Fuu, Hiruzen had placed her under the tutelage of the female ANBU member Neko. It was a strategic move, given Fuu's potential as a spy and assassin due to her flying ability and knack for surprise attacks. Training under the ANBU ensured not only her growth but also her safety from Danzo's machinations. Yuto felt a twinge of relief knowing Fuu was being looked after.

"Kakashi-sensei," Yuto said, breaking the silence, "do you think Fuu's training with the ANBU will help her find her place?"

Kakashi glanced at him thoughtfully. "Hokage-sama's decision wasn't just about her potential. It was about giving her a purpose and a safe environment. Fuu's abilities make her a perfect fit for that kind of work."

Naruko frowned as she placed her hand on her stomach. "Still, it sucks that she had to go through all that just because of what she is."

"That's the reality of being a jinchuriki," Kakashi said quietly, his tone heavy. "But it's also why you need to prove that strength comes from within, not just from the beast inside you."

Kakashi led the team toward their assigned lodging. "Rest up for now," he instructed. "We'll go over strategies tomorrow. Remember, this isn't just about your individual strength. How well you work as a team will be critical."

While Team 7 rested in their warm lodging, Team Guy could be seen sprinting through the snow-covered forests of the Land of Iron. They were just 20 kilometers away from the gates, but for their eccentric leader, Might Guy, it was the perfect opportunity for an intense "warm-up" session before the Chunin Exams.

"Push yourselves, my youthful students! This run will invigorate your flames of youth and prepare you for the challenges ahead!" Guy exclaimed, his voice booming across the frosty terrain.

Lee, ever the loyal disciple, shouted back enthusiastically, "Yes, Guy-sensei! My flames of youth will burn even brighter with this challenge!" He pumped his fists in the air as he matched his sensei's relentless pace.

"YOUTH!" both teacher and student shouted together, their voices echoing in perfect unison.

Neji, running alongside them, sighed deeply. 'Why is fate so cruel? Of all the teams I could have been placed on, I had to end up with these lunatics. This is hardly the preparation I envisioned for the Chunin Exams.'

Despite his internal complaints, Neji's movements were graceful and composed as he kept pace without breaking a sweat.

Behind him, Ten Ten struggled to keep up, tears streaming down her face. "Why? Why did we have to do a surprise warm-up before the Chunin Exams?!" she lamented, clutching her weapon scroll tightly. "We're going to be exhausted before we even arrive!"

Guy turned back briefly, his trademark grin beaming. "Ten Ten! True youth is born from overcoming unexpected challenges! You will thank me later!"

"I highly doubt that," she muttered under her breath, her face a mixture of exasperation and exhaustion.

As they ran, snow crunched beneath their feet, and their breaths formed visible puffs in the cold air. Lee suddenly increased his speed, yelling, "I won't let this snow hinder my youthful spirit! I will reach the gates of the Land of Iron first!"

Guy's eyes sparkled with pride. "That's the spirit, Lee! Show this snow the power of your determination!"

Neji closed his eyes briefly in frustration. 'This is madness... I swear, I'm surrounded by fools.'

Ten Ten, still panting, glared at Guy and Lee. "If I make it to the Land of Iron without collapsing, I'm taking a long nap. And don't wake me up for any more of your 'youthful' nonsense! I will literally hit you with all the weapons I have in your sleep!"

As their energetic banter filled the air, the gates of the Land of Iron loomed closer, marking the end of their grueling run. For Team Guy, this was just the beginning of their unique preparation for the trials ahead.
