Naruto: Forbidden Pleasures

Chapter 21: 1 Years Later

Autumn leaves gently danced in the air, swirling before settling on the grass-covered ground. The garden was bathed in golden light, each sunbeam making the morning dew glisten. Under the large maple tree, Naruto was finishing a series of push-ups. His breathing was steady, despite the fatigue weighing on his muscles.

"998… 999… 1000," he murmured, his body sinking slightly against the ground.

Sweat beaded on his forehead, dripping down to his chin before splashing onto the soil. After a brief pause, he pushed himself up, his arms trembling slightly from the effort. Then, he sat in a lotus position, closing his eyes to sink into deep meditation. The whisper of the wind through the trees, accompanied by the distant song of birds, formed a soothing melody.

Memories from the past year resurfaced: the unbearable soreness of the first weeks, the repeated failures, Akane's mocking remarks about his clumsiness. Yet, he had persisted. Every day had been a battle against himself, against his doubts and weaknesses. Today, he felt stronger, more confident.

A familiar voice interrupted his concentration:

"Well, you're faster than yesterday. Not bad, Naruto."

He opened his eyes to see Akane leaning against the doorframe of the small house they shared. Her black hair was tied in a loose bun, and her gaze sparkled with a mix of mockery and approval.

"But don't relax too soon," she added with a sly smile. "It's sparring time."

Naruto sighed as he stood up, brushing off his pants absentmindedly.

"Seriously? I just finished my set."

"So what?" she replied, shrugging. "Life won't wait for you."

Akane was a ruthless teacher. She spared neither her words nor her strikes, always pushing him to exceed his limits. But Naruto knew that, beneath her sharp tone, she believed in him.

They faced each other in the yard, the wind playing with their clothes and hair. Akane seemed relaxed, arms crossed, but Naruto wasn't fooled. He had learned the hard way that her apparent calm masked a formidable fighter.

"Ready?" she asked, a challenging smile lighting up her face.

Naruto nodded, his gaze determined.

"Always."

Without warning, Akane raised her hand. A golden chain materialized out of nowhere, darting toward him with the speed of a hunting serpent. Naruto pivoted skillfully to the side, narrowly dodging the attack.

Using his momentum, he summoned his own chains, swinging them in a wide arc toward Akane. But she anticipated his move, her chains clashing against his in a shower of sparks.

"Still so predictable," she teased, her smile widening.

Naruto didn't reply. His mind was entirely focused on the fight. He knew Akane was trying to unsettle him, but he refused to take the bait.

Akane's chains shot forward at an impressive speed, creating a deadly dance around her. Each strike seemed calculated, meant to test his defenses. Naruto dodged as best he could, his feet sliding on the ground, his muscles taut with effort.

"Focus, Naruto!" Akane shouted, her chains targeting his legs.

With an agile leap, he avoided the attack and used his chains to propel himself forward. He landed right in front of her, his fist aiming for her side.

For the first time since the fight began, Akane took a step back, her chains forming a defensive fan.

"Not bad," she admitted, her eyes glinting with interest. "But you can do better."

Naruto wasted no time. He tightened his grip on his chains and began circling her, his weapons creating a threatening loop.

Akane narrowed her eyes, intrigued by his unusual strategy.

"Interesting," she murmured. "Let's see what you're planning."

Suddenly, Naruto changed direction. His chains struck from two opposite sides simultaneously. Akane blocked the first attack with ease, but the second managed to graze her shoulder.

A triumphant smile appeared on Naruto's face.

"Gotcha," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of pride.

But his victory was short-lived. With a swift motion, Akane's chains shot out like serpents, one targeting his chest, the other his legs.

Naruto tried to counter with his own chains, but Akane's precision and strength were overwhelming.

Before he could react, her chains coiled around his wrist, then his waist, slamming him forcefully to the ground.

He grimaced, struggling to free himself, but his efforts were futile.

"And that's game," Akane said, retracting her chains as she looked at him with a mix of amusement and pride. "You've improved, Naruto. But you're still far from beating me."

Naruto remained on the ground for a few moments, breathing heavily. Frustration bubbled within him, but he knew she was right.

"Thanks for the spar," he finally said, getting up with difficulty.

Akane extended a hand, which he accepted without hesitation.

"Rest up," she concluded. "We'll continue later. And don't forget, go fetch dinner for tonight."

Naruto nodded, wiping the sweat from his brow. As he headed toward the house to wash up, he cast one last glance at Akane. Every fight with her was a lesson, an opportunity to grow.

[...]

Over time spent with Akane, Naruto had come to know every nook and cranny of the area surrounding their hideout. He had learned to navigate the rocky paths and steep valleys, developing a keen sense of direction. Two months had passed since Akane had entrusted him with the task of bringing back meat for their meals—a challenge she had presented with her usual mocking smile:

"If you really want to eat meat, Naruto, you'll have to hunt it yourself."

At first, he had grumbled, cursing this new trial, but he quickly realized that this mission was an opportunity to grow stronger. Since then, he had explored the dense forest that stretched at the base of the mountain. The lush vegetation provided natural shelter for wild animals, but it also made for a challenging hunting ground, requiring patience and stealth.

That day, after about fifteen minutes of silent tracking, Naruto finally spotted his prey: a massive wild boar with dark fur and sharp tusks. The animal was digging through the ground, busy devouring a pile of roots and fallen fruits. Despite its intimidating appearance, Naruto seemed unfazed.

"Perfect," he murmured, kneeling in a bush to observe the animal.

His breathing was slow and measured, his gaze focused. Since starting these hunts, he had honed his instincts and precision. Slowly, he pulled a kunai from his pocket. The weapon bore intricate inscriptions carved along its side, a testament to the complex art of sealing.

With a fluid motion, he threw the kunai. The weapon cut through the air before embedding itself in the trunk of a tree a few meters from the boar. Startled, the animal jerked its head up, scanning the surroundings warily. After a moment of stillness, it seemed to relax and resumed its meal.

Naruto narrowed his eyes.

"Now."

He activated the seal on the kunai. In a flash, he vanished from his position and reappeared near the tree where the weapon was lodged. However, the teleportation was clumsy, and he slammed hard into the trunk, creating a dull thud.

The boar, panicked, tried to flee. But Naruto, reacting swiftly, materialized his golden chains. One of them shot forward like a snake, wrapping around the animal's hind leg. The boar thrashed with surprising strength, but Naruto gritted his teeth, pulling with all his might to keep it in place.

Moments later, it was over. The animal lay motionless on the ground, and Naruto, breathing heavily, crouched beside it.

"It's still imperfect," he muttered, wiping his kunai with his sleeve.

He was referring to the technique he had been trying to master for over a year: the Hiraishin, a legendary ability created by Tobirama Senju and perfected by his father, the Fourth Hokage.

Naruto had found a scroll describing this technique among Akane's possessions. She had briefly explained that it was a rare artifact, lost to Konoha's archives. However, she had refused to answer his questions about its origin.

"If you want to understand this technique, learn it yourself," she had said.

She herself had never managed to master it, but that only fueled Naruto's curiosity and determination. However, it was a monumental challenge. The scroll, while informative, was far from complete. Naruto had to improvise, experiment, and learn from his mistakes.

Looking at the lifeless boar at his feet, he sighed.

"At least we'll finally have meat today."

He quickly got to work, carefully skinning the animal to retrieve the meat. The rudimentary tools he had crafted over the weeks proved useful, though the process remained laborious.

The sun was beginning to set by the time he started his journey back. The boar's carcass, tied to an improvised harness, dragged behind him. The climb back to the hideout was grueling, but Naruto refused to slow down. Each step strengthened his resolve, a constant reminder that he was on the path to becoming stronger.

When he finally reached the house, Akane was waiting, arms crossed, her usual mocking smile on her lips.
