Chapter 42: Shocked Madara
"Minato, explain the situation."
"Yes, Hokage-sama."
Minato recounted the events. By the time he arrived, the battle was already over.
The room fell silent, disbelief etched on everyone's faces.
"The Seven Ninja Swordsmen… defeated by Yoruichi alone?"
"And Might Duy, a mere Genin, opened the Eight Gates and also took down the Seven Ninja Swordsmen?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi's tone was grave. "We've clearly underestimated Might Duy's potential. Upon my return, I want you to bring him to me."
For now, Sarutobi had more urgent matters to handle—stopping the Raikage and ensuring Danzo's safe return.
Sarutobi left the room, Orochimaru following closely behind. Moments later, another Anbu hurried in.
"Hokage-sama?"
Koharu Utatane stood up. "The Hokage is currently occupied. What's the matter?"
"Something serious has occurred near Kirigakure! We've lost contact with Lord Jiraiya, and the Third Mizukage has attacked Yoruichi!"
Hearing this, Homura Mitokado and Koharu exchanged brief glances, their lips curling slightly in satisfaction.
"What's the status?" Koharu asked calmly.
"It happened half an hour ago," the Anbu replied.
Homura sighed theatrically. "How unfortunate. The Hokage is unavailable, and most of our Jonin are on missions. Our forces are stretched thin. We can only hope Yoruichi can escape. Dispatch a rescue team, but don't put anyone at unnecessary risk."
The Anbu stiffened. "Understood…"
As he left, he couldn't help but curse internally. How are we supposed to rescue anyone in a battlefield that terrifying? These elders…
Homura and Koharu smiled knowingly.
"Without Yoruichi disrupting things, Konoha will be back on track when Danzo returns," Homura murmured.
---
At the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Water, half a bridge lay in ruins, waves crashing below.
Yoruichi stood amidst a battlefield, surrounded by countless White Zetsu.
The forest he summoned through Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence was collapsing under the relentless assault.
Meanwhile, the Third Mizukage, nursing a swollen face after being pummeled by one of Yoruichi's clones, kept his distance. He unleashed a barrage of Water Dragon Jutsu, streams of water forming into roaring dragons that crashed into Yoruichi's clone.
Boom!
The clone shattered into splinters of wood.
But in an instant, Yoruichi created three more clones.
Each clone possessed only a third of his strength, but Yoruichi knew spreading his chakra too thin would weaken him further. He clasped his hands together, forming a complex series of hand seals. Chakra surged through him, glowing faintly.
"Wood Release: Wooden Golem Jutsu!"
The ground exploded beneath him. A massive wooden figure began to rise, its form imposing and majestic.
Yoruichi stood atop the golem's head as it emerged fully, a towering structure that shook the earth with every step. Behind it, a ring of massive arms formed, poised to strike.
In the shadows, hidden behind a mask, Madara Uchiha's single Sharingan widened.
"This… is the Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands technique? Impossible!"
Madara, projecting himself through one of his clones, staggered back. His voice wavered. "He doesn't have Hashirama's cells. How could he—wait. No… this isn't the full version. This is the Wooden Golem Jutsu."
Even so, madara felt a chill. Memories of Hashirama Senju's overwhelming power flashed in his mind.
Another man like him?
His gaze locked on Yoruichi.
"This… this must end now," Madara muttered. "Before he grows any stronger."
But just as Madara prepared to act, the earth quaked violently again.
Boom!
A second wooden golem erupted from the ground, another Yoruichi clone standing atop it.
And then… another.
Three colossal wooden golems now loomed over the battlefield, shaking the very earth with their presence.
The sight left everyone stunned, from the Third Mizukage to the White Zetsu army. Even madara hesitated, fear creeping into his heart.
