Swish!

Four dusty figures suddenly appeared in the house.

"Found it?"

Seeing the four people return, Mikoto, who had been worried, felt a glimmer of relief in her eyes. The whole house was covered with soundproof barriers that Suzuka had set up earlier, so everyone could communicate freely.

"Yes, I found it," Minato replied with a smile.

Hearing this, Mikoto and Yamanaka Kanha finally relaxed, the weight lifted from their hearts. Sakumo looked at the two and asked, "Nothing unusual happened while we were gone, right?"

"Everything is normal," Yamanaka Kanha replied. Sakumo nodded, then turned to Minato with a look of surprise and asked, "By the way, how did you know where the Desert Sorrow was planted?"

"He can actually sense it? Who did you learn that from?" Suzuka's questions followed quickly.

Minato felt a little guilty; he couldn't tell the truth to the two of them. "Let's disguise ourselves first. We don't have much time left," Minato said, deliberately changing the subject. After all, this was business.

"No hurry, there's plenty of time on the way," Suzuka replied, though Mikoto didn't seem to fully understand. She observed the puzzled look on Minato's face and helped him change the topic.

Sakumo, Suzuka, and Hyuga Kyusugi started restoring their previous disguises, though they were still curious. Minato couldn't help but smile bitterly in his heart—he knew he'd have to explain later. However, if he didn't act now, there might not be enough time to locate and retrieve the Desert Sorrow.

For Minato, mastering the ability to sense nature energy wasn't just about completing the mission. It would greatly benefit his future training in Sage Mode.

At dawn, two empty carriages followed the main road toward Sand Village, eventually arriving at the main entrance. Minato and the others, now disguised, approached. Their chakras were sealed, just as they were when they arrived, allowing them to easily pass the inspection by the Sand Ninja on duty. In fact, the Sand Ninja hardly paid them any attention, dismissing them as mere civilians.

As they drove the carriages toward the hard sand wall, everyone remained calm on the surface, though they were all on high alert. None of them knew when the Sand Village might discover the deaths of the three Sand Ninjas or the theft of the Desert Sorrow. The two carriages continued along the narrow sky path, passing steep rocky mountains where more Sand Ninja guards were stationed. With this natural barrier, attacking Sand Village directly would be difficult.

Leaning against the carriage, Minato gazed in the direction of Sand Village and gradually smiled. Now that he had been here once, he could return in an instant if needed.

"Brother, what are you smiling at?" Mikoto asked, noticing Minato's expression.

Minato smiled slightly, a trace of reluctance in his eyes. "Such a big village... It's so much better than our remote and poor hometown. I really don't want to leave."

Mikoto nodded in agreement. "Yes, Sand Village is beautiful."

Caw!

At that moment, the sound of an eagle echoed from the sky. Mikoto and Minato looked up and saw a dark figure swiftly passing overhead, heading straight toward Sand Village. Both of their expressions darkened. This wasn't an ordinary eagle—it was a ninja beast trained by Sand Village to transmit information.

The eagle was carrying intelligence from the front lines, which meant Chiyo was no longer content to sit still.

The Konoha army had already retreated to the border of the Land of Wind. What valuable information could this eagle be carrying?

"Brother, look at that eagle! It's flying so high!" Mikoto suddenly stood up in the carriage, shouting and laughing, pretending to be an excited child seeing something for the first time.

"Yeah," Minato responded, playing along.

The two carriages gradually approached the exit of the hard sand wall.

Meanwhile, back in Sand Village, several Sand Ninja figures appeared on a building more than 200 meters away from the Kazekage Building. The three "Sand Ninjas" on duty slowly turned their heads.

"Hey, it's time for the shift change," one Sand Ninja said as he approached.

But the person in front of him ignored him, forming seals with his hands.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The next moment, the three "Sand Ninjas" turned into smoke and vanished.

"Summoning jutsu!?"

The Sand Ninjas were shocked. But when the smoke cleared, there was no one in sight.

"Where are they?" one exclaimed. But another Sand Ninja's pupils suddenly shrank as he dug into the sand beneath them, walking close to the Desert Sorrow. He formed seals with his hands.

"Release!"

Suddenly, smoke filled the air again, and the Desert Sorrow transformed into a light green plant.

"Not good!" The Sand Ninja's eyes widened as he shouted.

Back at the hard sand wall, Sakumo, who was driving the carriage, felt a sudden sense of danger flash through his mind. But he concealed it well, so no one noticed.

"It seems we've been found out," Sakumo thought to himself. He could feel the summoning jutsu had been lifted. But when he looked up, the exit of the hard sand wall was already in sight.

In the Kazekage's office, the Third Kazekage slowly put down the letter in his hand. At that moment, hurried footsteps echoed outside the door, followed by a knock.

"Come in," the Third Kazekage commanded.

A Sand Ninja pushed open the door in a panic and knelt with his head bowed.

"What's going on? Why are you so flustered?" the Third Kazekage asked, frowning. He didn't like his subordinates showing such a lack of composure.

The Sand Ninja slowly raised his head and, with a choked voice, said, "We lost track of Umino Shin'o, Date Shisuke, and Miyamoto Goshi, who were on a mission. Blood was found near their patrol area."

The Third Kazekage's calm expression instantly turned to fury, but he quickly realized where the three had been stationed.

"Where is the Desert Sorrow?" he asked.

"The Desert Sorrow was also stolen."

As soon as the Sand Ninja finished speaking, the desk in front of the Third Kazekage crumbled into dust. Majestic chakra filled the room, and the intense pressure made the air crackle.

Two Jonin and one Special Jonin were missing, which meant they had likely been killed, and the Desert Sorrow was stolen. The Third Kazekage's eyes blazed with rage. This was a great humiliation for Sand Village, especially since it happened only 200 meters from the Kazekage Building.
