Naruto : Minato back to the past

Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Tsunade's Bet

Tsunade's gaze gradually became calm, and so did Orochimaru. Hyuga Tenki and Aburame Shiki, who had little experience with Minato, were clearly struggling to digest what they had just witnessed. They were all heads of their clans, celebrated as geniuses since childhood, and had always taken pride in their accomplishments. Yet, standing before this young boy, they couldn't help but feel that all the praise they had received over the years suddenly seemed absurd.

Minato, hearing this, turned his attention back to the Rasengan and said, "I plan to develop it further."

"Develop it further?" Tsunade was taken aback. To her, the Rasengan already represented the pinnacle of form manipulation, and she couldn't imagine how it could be advanced any more.

"Yes," Minato nodded. "The ninjutsu I originally envisioned wasn't the Rasengan. This is merely a semi-finished product."

The people in front of him were among Konoha's top ninja, so Minato felt comfortable sharing the details of the Rasengan. He hoped that by sharing his insights, they could help him refine the ninjutsu even further.

"This is just a semi-finished product?" Orochimaru was astonished. He prided himself on being a genius, yet despite his ideas, he had not succeeded in creating a new ninjutsu. Minato, on the other hand, seemed to be far ahead of him in both thought and action.

"How do you plan to develop it further?" Hyuga Tenki asked, sensing that Minato had already thought of a way to continue his work. It seemed that the ultimate version of the Rasengan was the technique Minato had mentioned before—the one capable of rivaling Sakumo's full-power attack.

Still, he was deeply curious about how this could be achieved.

"By combining the change in form with a change in nature, fusing the two aspects of chakra manipulation. When complete, the Rasengan's power will rival Sakumo's full-strength attack!" Minato said confidently. After all, he had spent years envisioning this ninjutsu.

"I see," Tsunade and the others muttered, suddenly understanding. The shock on their faces had lessened, however, as they had become somewhat numb to Minato's accomplishments.

Although none of them could develop ninjutsu like Minato at the moment, they could now comprehend his line of thinking. Combining both chakra form and nature was akin to combining two separate ninjutsu, but the resulting power would far exceed that of any simple combination.

A combination of two A-rank ninjutsu was already terrifying. If Minato was able to multiply that power several times, his claim that the new Rasengan would be comparable to Sakumo's full-strength attack was, if anything, an understatement.

"So how far have you progressed with its development?" Tsunade asked.

Minato exchanged glances with Sakumo before recounting what had transpired earlier. However, he avoided mentioning any details regarding the Nine-Tails' chakra.

Through Minato's evasive explanation, Tsunade gradually began to realize what Minato was truly after. With a knowing smile, she asked, "You've gone through all of this just to ask me if there's any medicine that can boost your chakra in a short amount of time, haven't you?"

Minato smiled in response. He had the Nine-Tails' chakra, so his chakra reserves weren't actually an issue. However, he needed to perform the ninjutsu before it was fully developed, and even once it was complete, he wouldn't be able to release it with his current body. Since he couldn't reveal the secret of the Nine-Tails' chakra, he had to ask Tsunade for help.

"Is there such a medicine?" Minato asked. In his previous life, he had never encountered any medicine that could increase chakra, so he was genuinely unsure.

"Of course," Tsunade chuckled. "If I couldn't make something like that, you'd laugh me to death."

"I wouldn't dare," Minato quickly replied.

"Dare?" Tsunade grinned. "However, this kind of medicine is harmful to the body. Are you sure you want to use it?"

"Yes," Minato said firmly. Although Konoha could eventually defeat the Sand Ninja through a war of attrition, Minato, knowing the course of history, wanted to ensure his village gained the greatest advantage in the war. Furthermore, he wanted to push himself to see if he could complete the ninjutsu he hadn't managed to develop in his previous life.

"Give me three days, and I'll have the medicine ready for you," Tsunade said.

"I need at least two months," Minato responded with a nod. Even with Sakumo's guidance and his near success last time, he wasn't entirely confident he could develop such a high-level ninjutsu in that time.

"Understood." Tsunade didn't comment on the timeline. Though two months seemed short, she didn't doubt Minato's ability.

"I'll need quite a bit of time to prepare the antidote for Chiyo's poison. In the next two months, you should focus solely on developing your jutsu. You won't be assigned any more missions," Tsunade said.

Though she had already figured out how to counter Chiyo's poison, she still needed time to analyze the rare and deadly flower, Desert Sorrow, which she had heard of but never encountered.

"Yes!" Minato replied.

Shortly after, Minato left. Once he was gone, Orochimaru turned to Tsunade and said, "You're gambling. Do you really think it's possible to develop S-rank ninjutsu in two months?"

It wasn't just Orochimaru who thought this; the others, aside from Sakumo, were skeptical as well.

Tsunade shot back, "Did you think it was possible for a boy under eleven to develop A-rank ninjutsu and devise battle strategies like a Hokage?"

Minato had already made the impossible a reality.

She looked around at the group, and they fell silent. After a moment, Tsunade stretched, her form-fitting ninja outfit accentuating her slender figure as she moved.

She turned with a smile, raised her eyebrows, and said, "This time, I'm betting on Minato."

Orochimaru, with a hint of doubt, whispered, "Don't forget your gambling luck isn't great."

He was well aware of Tsunade's notorious bad luck when it came to gambling, and it seemed as if she never won.

Yet, Tsunade, who always seemed to lose, appeared unusually confident now. Her lips curled into a slight smile as she softly replied:

"Don't forget, Minato is a monster."
