Naruto - Minato Namikaze SI

Chapter 169: Chapter 169 - I'm Back 03.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Konoha, Year 39.

...

...

Minato woke up in the morning to find Kushina cuddled up next to him, having left her futon to sleep in his, drooling on his shoulder. He carefully moved her aside as he got up.

"Minato...?" Kushina sat up, rubbing one eye while looking at him with the other half-closed.

"Kushina... I'm heading out now. After all, I scheduled a training session with Guy, alright?" Minato asked with a small smile.

"Well... if you're going to do that, it's fine... Can I bring you some coffee?" She asked, and Minato nodded.

"That's fine, but let me know where it is," she requested.

"I don't know yet... I'll be looking for someone," Minato commented as he started to leave after changing and saying goodbye to Kushina.

"856... 857... 858!" Little Guy was doing push-ups as Minato opened the door, and the sun hadn't even risen yet.

"What are you doing?" Minato raised an eyebrow at him.

"I'm trying to do 1,000 push-ups before you show up!! But it looks like I failed; my youth wasn't enough!!" He began to complain like a child.

"Stop crying, and let's save your push-ups for training. Let's go," Minato said, grabbing the boy forcefully despite his training obsession, and disappeared.

Minato headed to the training field where he used to train, while Guy looked dazed. "This is where I used to train..." Minato said, but his attention wasn't really there.

"Really?! I can feel the power of youth in the atmosphere!" The boy exclaimed, then turned to see Minato, who had his eyes closed, focusing as he scanned the village with his observation haki, checking all the training grounds until he found the one he was looking for.

"Field 7... how ironic..." Minato commented as he once again grabbed a confused Guy and vanished from the spot.

At Training Field Seven, someone was training at that moment and was slightly startled by the sudden appearance of Minato and Guy in the middle of the field.

"Who?!" He quickly grabbed a kunai, pointing it at them. His eyes widened when he recognized who they were.

Looking around a bit surprised, Minato tried to pretend he wasn't there on purpose. "Look, Guy... it's so nice to come here... This is my favorite training field to train you," he spoke to the air while Guy looked at him, confused.

"But it seems like it's already occupied..." Minato said, turning to a small Kakashi, smiling at Sakumo's son.

"Kakashi!!!???" Guy exclaimed as soon as he saw him. "My rival!! Fate has brought us together once again. Are you ready to lose? How about a race around the village using only our hands!!" Guy exclaimed, while Kakashi looked at him like an idiot.

But before Kakashi could say anything, Minato slapped the back of his head. "Stop talking nonsense, you're training with me today, remember?" He said.

"That's right! Sorry, I'm ready to start training!!" Guy exclaimed as Minato turned back to Kakashi.

"Hey, it's alright if we train here, right?" Minato asked with a smile.

"Fine, ... just don't get in my way," Kakashi replied, a bit hesitant but speaking with some arrogance.

'Just like his father said, this brat is so full of himself...' Minato only nodded, not paying much more attention to Kakashi.

In the next moment, Minato started training Guy by giving him some seals. "These are weight seals; you'll start training with them now," Minato began explaining the new dynamic to Guy so he wouldn't have to carry too many things.

"Really?!" Guy was, as always, enthusiastic.

Kakashi continued his kunai training, but he glanced at the two of them every now and then, finding their training ridiculous since it was purely physical, and he believed that a ninja who relied solely on physical prowess was weak.

"This is so heavy!!" Guy gritted his teeth as he tried to do push-ups.

"You can do it... I want to see you unleash the power of your youth," Minato said, stepping behind the boy while Guy was already straining under the weight. With Minato's added weight pressing down, it seemed to unbalance him, but he quickly pushed through to keep going.

"Very well... I want to see you do 100 push-ups," Minato said while standing on top of the child, trying to push him to surpass his limits.

"100!" After some time, Guy finished.

"Very good..." Minato stepped off his back, looking satisfied with the effort while Kakashi observed them curiously, even though he thought this training was pointless.

"Now let's train your reflexes, Guy," Minato said as the boy finished resting.

"Alright, ... just a second..." Guy was clearly exhausted, feeling his arms go numb.

"You're doing great; at your age, I was much weaker," Minato commented with a smile.

"I'm stronger than you were at my age!?" Guy couldn't believe it.

"Yes... now enough talking, let's continue," Minato said, picking up some stones.

Guy saw Minato preparing to attack. When Minato threw the first stone, he moved at a nearly impossible speed, passing by a frozen Guy before hitting the ground, resulting in a massive explosion with just the force Minato put into the object...

"What?!" Guy made a grimace as he watched.

"!!" Even Kakashi looked on with wide eyes, wondering if Minato had used some kind of jutsu, as such strength seemed impossible for anyone to possess in his opinion.

"One more time, this time I'll aim properly," Minato said, picking up a handful of stones.

"Wait, wait!!" Guy was genuinely terrified, but it was too late as Minato started hurling more and more stones, all flying at high speeds.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The explosions continued as a five-year-old boy fought for his life amidst the blasts of small stones hitting the ground. The forest behind him began to break apart as the stones destroyed the trees.

"Well... this is too easy..." Minato murmured, while Guy, who was already crying and thankful to be alive, saw Minato picking up a rock larger than him, holding it above his head with his own hands.

"Try to dodge this!" Minato said, tossing the rock, which came crashing down on the little Guy, making him run away immediately as the ground exploded.

"This is good... this was a training session to help you withstand pressure," Minato said, satisfied with Guy's performance, as the boy continued crying on the ground.

"Minato... you went way too hard!" Guy couldn't help but mutter. Doing exercises while shouting was one thing, but having his life at risk was a completely different matter.

"How did you get so strong?" Guy was about to ask when Kakashi approached them.

"Hm? Are you interested in my training too?" Minato smiled, looking at Kakashi.

"I..." Kakashi didn't know what to say; he didn't want to be in Guy's position.

"Well. If you want to find out, you'll have to go through my training. Besides, I'm not accepting clones, so bring your real self," Minato said. Before Kakashi could react, Minato placed a finger on his forehead, flicking him, and Kakashi exploded into a puff of smoke.

"What?!" Guy jumped, looking at Minato and crying even more. "How could you? You killed my rival!!" he exclaimed in despair.

"It was just a shadow clone... that Kakashi really lives up to the name of someone who would break all records this year..." Minato commented with some admiration.

Kakashi was at his clan's compound when he frowned. He had been sending clones to different places to train and become stronger. With these jutsu alone, he could graduate from the academy, and he planned to do so soon, but he wanted to spend some more time training. Now, as he received the memories, he found himself in a dilemma.

Kushina finally sensed Minato's chakra after searching for him a bit, even going to his old training ground. She eventually found him in a peculiar scene, watching two five-year-old children—one being Guy and the other a white-haired boy—carrying giant rocks on their backs while walking around the area.

"I won't lose!!" Guy exclaimed, gaining a slight advantage over Kakashi, who didn't have as much physical training, falling behind while gritting his teeth.

"..." Kakashi didn't even know why he was here, but he decided to listen to Minato's words.

"Kushina." Minato, with his arms crossed, supervised their training, while his gaze fell on Kushina as she approached.

"Minato, are they going to be alright?" Kushina asked, a little worried about the children. She knew Minato had been training like this for many years, but she couldn't help but be concerned; after all, almost no one had Minato's monstrous physique.

"They will be. Although they'll have some muscle issues tomorrow, their bodies should get used to it as they channel chakra into their joints to strengthen them," Minato spoke calmly.

Kushina ended up joining them as he had his first meal. Guy and Kakashi joined them as well; Guy was animated, while Kakashi remained silent and somewhat arrogant. Kushina tried to strike up a conversation with him, but he was a boy of few words.

In the end, Minato continued to train them a bit more, with Kushina watching by his side. "Well, that's it for today. This will be your training routine until I return from the war," Minato declared.

"Why are you here and not at the war?" Kakashi approached Minato at that moment.

"Because I'm taking care of some things," Minato replied in a calm tone.

"But a ninja should always be fighting..." Kakashi murmured.

"Maybe, but a ninja also has a life, and important comrades he must pay attention to," Minato answered.

"..." Kakashi didn't quite understand this, still looking at Minato as if he were wrong, while Minato sighed. Besides his prior knowledge, Minato's own father had warned him that his son might be heading down a wrong path.

"Anyway... we're leaving," Minato turned back to Kushina.

Kakashi quickly glanced to the side as the leaves of the trees rustled, remaining alert in case it was an enemy. "Hahaha. We're surrounded all the time... don't be so tense, the trees are full of Anbu ninjas," Minato said, laughing. After all, this was Kushina's security detail.

In the end, Minato and Kushina went to have lunch at the orphanage, with Guy tagging along. Minato spent the entire afternoon with the children, showing them some secrets he had developed during his academy days. Despite not having much of a social life back then aside from a few friends, he had trained relentlessly.

The next day was Minato's last day in the village. He trained Guy and Kakashi in the morning and spent the afternoon with Kushina looking for a plot of land to buy. They ended up choosing one on the edge of the village, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the center. Unlike the Uchiha, who felt offended by having such a location, Minato sought peace and tranquility. The plot they closed on was also far from the training grounds.

That evening, Minato trained with Kushina in fuuinjutsu, and she had a sad look in her eyes, even as she ate her meal. After all, Minato was leaving the next day, but he still had his duty. More than that, he was about to take a new step in his power scale, beginning his training with armament haki. He hoped to gain enough strength to protect Kushina and everyone else.
