Chapter 38: Chapter 5
Naruto rose early, his body still feeling the benefits of the previous day's healing. He had long since embraced the grind of constant training, his focus unshakable as he worked on Soru, Shigan, and various Haki techniques. Sweat glistened on his toned muscles as he repeated the movements, pushing his limits as always.
As he prepared for his next round of practice, Naruto sensed a presence approaching.
"Knock."
"You can come in, Hina," Naruto said, not pausing in his movements.
The door creaked open, and Hina stepped inside. She immediately froze when she saw Naruto, shirtless and in nothing but his boxers, training in his courtyard.
"Menma, please cover up, Hina does not like this," she scolded, her voice tinged with embarrassment.
Naruto paused for a moment, looking back at her with an amused smile. "Hina, you'll have to get used to this. Even nakedness isn't uncommon in a fight. It's part of the life we live, and you'll need to adapt if you want to keep up," he said casually, applying medicinal ointment to his body.
Hina's frown deepened, but she nodded reluctantly. "So, what does Hina have to do to start training?"
Naruto grinned. "Simple. Go pick up the jar, strip, and apply the medicine like me. After that, just follow my instructions."
Hina hesitated for only a moment before doing exactly what he said, though she seemed uncomfortable.
Naruto raised an eyebrow in approval. "I'm impressed with your dedication, Hina. I'll help you heal just like this, and soon, you'll be stronger too."
With that, he executed a flawless Soru, disappearing from Hina's sight and reappearing at the other side of the courtyard.
"After you do your stretches, try this move. It'll help build your body," he said, his tone gentle but encouraging.
Hina blinked in surprise. "Menma, you can already do Soru? How?" she asked, her eyes wide in disbelief.
Naruto shrugged, unfazed. "It's nothing. You need to train harder to keep up with the monsters of this world. More training is necessary," he replied, his expression serious.
Hina was still in awe. "What do you aim for? Hina is curious."
Naruto's gaze softened for a moment, his voice unwavering. "To be the strongest."
Her eyes widened at his clarity and conviction, and she smiled. "That's a great undertaking. Hina wishes to try as well."
Naruto nodded. "Then let's get to work. Stretch first, and then try to copy my movements for Soru. I'll go slowly for you."
"Thank you," Hina replied, her voice full of genuine appreciation as she stretched her body, pushing the remnants of sleep away.
As she began following Naruto's movements, she couldn't help but be captivated by the fluidity with which he moved. His muscular body seemed to dance through the air, the weights he wore on his legs, arms, and chest adding a layer of difficulty to his movements. Hina struggled to keep up, her attempts to mimic his technique falling short.
After several attempts, Naruto noticed her struggles and walked over to help. "Hina, let me assist you," he said, stepping behind her.
Without hesitation, he placed his hands on her body to adjust her position. The contact caused Hina to stiffen, her body reacting instinctively to the proximity.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice sharp with disbelief.
"I'm helping you get the right stance. You'll have to get used to this if you want to improve. We're fighters and marines; these things aren't strange to us," Naruto replied with a confidence that seemed to carry weight.
Hina glared at him, but her expression softened, her thoughts in turmoil. She couldn't deny the truth in his words, but the situation still made her feel uncomfortable. "Okay, but if you do anything else, Hina will do something about it."
Naruto chuckled, his grin widening. "Haha, don't worry, Hina. I give you my word."
He then continued adjusting her posture, his hands gently moving her body into the correct positions, while her skin tingled at every touch. Despite her discomfort, Hina couldn't help but notice how his assistance improved her technique, and she found herself gradually getting the hang of the move. Still, her mind wandered, clouded by the sensation of his touch.
As Naruto finished helping her, Hina was flushed, though capable of performing the technique more smoothly now. He left her to continue her training, while he returned to his own practice.
'Man, I need some better weapons,' Naruto thought as he moved through his drills. 'Without chakra, I'll have to always buy new ones. It's a drag.'
In the meantime, Hina pushed through the pain, training diligently despite her exhaustion. After an hour, though, she had completely collapsed, writhing in intense agony.
Naruto, still somewhat worn from his own training, could hear her struggles. He walked over to her, his steps heavy with fatigue, and gently picked her up in a princess carry.
Hina groaned, her body aching from the rigorous exercises, but she was still conscious. "Menma, put me down... it's embarrassing..." she muttered through clenched teeth.
"You'll be fine," Naruto said, his voice gentle despite his own exhaustion. "Just rest. We'll be training harder soon."
As he carefully carried her back to a resting area, he reflected on how the days ahead would test them both, but they were on the right path—one that would make them stronger, together.
Naruto winced as he moved, his muscles aching from the relentless training he had pushed himself through. Despite the pain, he forced a smile onto his face, though it was a struggle to move his facial muscles. His body felt like it had been through a meat grinder, but his determination to train and push through every obstacle was unwavering.
"Isn't it nice?" Naruto said, his voice strained. "Friends enjoying training like this is the best," he added, his forced smile barely hiding the exhaustion. His steps were slow, each one like dragging a heavy weight behind him. The pain in his body was almost unbearable, but he had learned long ago to endure, no matter the cost.
With snail-paced movements, he finally made it to the bathtub. Gritting his teeth, he unceremoniously dumped Hina into the water, not giving her time to brace herself. She gasped as the cold liquid hit her, and instinctively she clawed her way to the surface, her body still screaming from the intensity of their training.
"You ass!" Hina shouted, her voice sharp with anger. She opened her mouth to continue, but the pain from her body was too much, and she bit her tongue to prevent herself from crying out in agony.
Naruto, still feeling the same deep ache in his muscles, grimaced and slowly lowered himself into the water. He made space for both of them, trying to get comfortable in the cramped space, but it was soon clear that the arrangement wasn't working. The discomfort was overwhelming, and Naruto knew that he couldn't let Hina suffer like this.
He moved behind her, his body pressed against hers as he gently shifted her position. "I'll help your body relax and ease the pain," he said, his voice soothing. "Trust me, you need this."
Hina, her body too exhausted to protest, allowed him to change their position. She sat in front of him, between his legs, while Naruto stretched his body out, leaning against her back. As his hands moved over her, massaging the tight knots in her muscles, Hina couldn't hold back the moan that escaped her lips. The sound was involuntary, a mix of relief and pleasure, and it slipped out with an intensity that surprised both of them.
Naruto, caught off guard by her reaction, felt a flush of heat rise to his face. But it wasn't long before his body responded in its own way. The prolonged contact, the closeness, and the intimate position caused his body to react naturally, much to his own surprise.
Hina, feeling the hard and hot pressure against her back, flushed a deep shade of red. Her teeth clenched, and she tried to move away, but Naruto's hands were firm, holding her in place.
"Menma…" she muttered through gritted teeth, her voice laced with a mixture of frustration and embarrassment.
Naruto, not missing a beat, replied calmly, "Hina, this is a normal reaction for people our age. If I didn't react like this, there would be something wrong. You've been training hard, and this is just part of the process."
Hina's face turned even redder, a mixture of shame and anger flooding her. "Let Hina go, you bastard! You're taking advantage of me!"
Naruto let out a sigh, his voice soft and reassuring as he continued to ease her sore muscles. "Relax, Hina. If I wanted to, I could have already done worse. But this is the Marines' headquarters. Do you really think anyone would be that stupid?" he said, trying to ease her mind.
He paused for a moment before continuing. "If you leave now, you could cause irreversible damage to your body. After this, you can go, and if you feel the benefits, it's your choice to come back or not."
Hina, hearing the sincerity in his words, felt a shift in her feelings. His demeanor wasn't lustful, and his actions weren't pushing her past any boundaries. She took a deep breath and slowly nodded. "Okay, Hina will trust you for now."
For the next little while, they both stayed in the bath, the water soothing their aching bodies. Hina eventually drifted off to sleep, her body completely spent from the rigorous training and Naruto's meticulous massage.
Once he was sure she was truly resting, Naruto carefully got out of the bath, his body sore and tired. He walked over to his bed, gently laying Hina down before heading back to his training. He needed to work on his Shigan—he still hadn't fully mastered it, and there was no room for hesitation if he wanted to be ready for what lay ahead.
Naruto set his stance and focused on the steel pole in front of him. He cocked back his arm and, with a surge of willpower, punched through the thick pole with his Haki-coated fist. The steel gave way easily, the force of the punch making it feel like cutting through butter. But he could feel the Haki wavering; it wasn't perfect yet.
"It's really good," Naruto muttered, looking at the damage he'd caused. "That would have taken a lot more effort with my current strength. But I need something harder to practice on."
He glanced around the room, the steel poles quickly becoming useless in providing the pressure he needed. "But it'll have to do for now. I'll have to find something else to practice on soon."
Naruto continued training for another half hour, his mind focused solely on improving his Shigan and Haki. When the time came for a break, he ate some fruits and drank an energy drink, allowing himself to recharge before continuing.
After a short rest, he went back to Hina's side, gently waking her from her nap. "Hina, it's time for the morning run. Let's go," he said softly, waving a hand in front of her face to rouse her.
Hina stirred, her eyes fluttering open. The exhaustion from her training still weighed on her, but there was a noticeable spark of determination in her gaze. She nodded slowly, accepting the challenge.
"I'm ready, Menma," she said, her voice steady despite the lingering fatigue.
Naruto smiled. "Good. Let's go."
As Naruto and Hina made their way toward the training field, Hina couldn't help but feel a shift within herself. Her body had improved, even if just slightly, from the previous day's training. The massage had made a noticeable difference, and while she wasn't yet at her best, she could feel the benefits already taking shape. She glanced at Naruto, and a sense of gratitude washed over her.
"Hina apologizes for the misunderstanding," she said quietly, her voice sincere as she looked up at him.
Naruto, not one to dwell on things for too long, gave a carefree shrug. "No biggie. Let's go now," he said, his tone light. Without another word, he surged forward, breaking into a run and forcing Hina to keep up.
As they neared the training field, Naruto spotted Smoker standing alone. His confident stride carried him toward the larger-than-life Marine, his usual smile in place despite the pain in his body from yesterday's grueling training.
"Hey Smoker, how you doing?" Naruto called out, his voice upbeat, full of energy.
Smoker turned, his expression slightly surprised at seeing Naruto so soon. "Color me surprised, I didn't think you'd be here today," he commented, raising an eyebrow.
Naruto grinned, unphased by the comment. "What can I say, nothing keeps the Uzumaki down," he responded with a wink, his internal thoughts quiet but determined. Even death.
"I can see that. So, if I'm seeing this right, you're going to challenge me again today, huh?" Smoker asked, already anticipating the possibility.
Naruto's grin grew wider. "Well, you'd be wrong for now. I'm interested in fighting everyone, so today, it's going to be our large friend over there," he said loudly, pointing toward Adam.
Adam, who had been quietly listening, heard Naruto's shout and approached with his trademark confidence. "Yo, little man," Adam called out, clapping Naruto on the back with a force so powerful that Naruto had to brace himself to avoid stumbling. "You've got some balls of steel. I like ya, so let's have some fun later."
Naruto laughed as the larger man turned and walked away, his boisterous energy filling the air.
"Haha, that man is as vulgar as ever and simple in his approach. Don't think of him as bad; it's just his way of interacting. We can call each other friends, even if it's not quite like normal people," Smoker said, watching Adam with a hint of amusement in his voice.
"I know," Naruto replied, his tone thoughtful as he watched Adam's retreating figure. "I'm good at reading people. He doesn't strike me as bad, but someone who can get really cruel when lost in battle."
Naruto then turned toward Smoker, a grin playing on his lips. "Got any other friends, or are we just the only two?"
Smoker raised an eyebrow. "When did the blonde and pinky get to be your friends?" he asked, half teasing, half curious.
Naruto gave a carefree shrug. "You have to take your time and earn it," he said with a chuckle, brushing the comment aside. "But we're set for life, bro."
Smoker, not one to argue, simply nodded. "Hmm, don't mind the details. We're good."
Hina, standing quietly next to Naruto, smiled at the exchange. It was clear that Naruto had a way with people, even if it wasn't always the most conventional. She felt her connection with him growing as they shared these lighthearted moments.
Their conversation came to a halt as the sound of footsteps approached. Everyone around them fell silent, standing in attention. Z, the instructor, had arrived.
Z stood at the front of the group, his gaze scanning the students before he spoke. "Today, there's good news for you all. We have been authorized to use X metal for training purposes," he began, his voice steady and commanding. "For those who don't know, X metal is a material denser than anything else we've encountered, with unparalleled durability. We have been provided with armors made from this metal and weapons to match. Suit up and start running."
Naruto's eyes lit up at the announcement. My problem seems to have been solved. The world must be on my side. Thank you, I will not give up. His excitement surged, and he couldn't wait to get started.
The others began picking up the armor pieces, and Naruto followed suit, eagerly grabbing the heavy plates. However, as soon as he tried to put on the chest piece, the weight hit him like a ton of bricks. It's not even that thick, he thought, struggling to hold the piece in place, but it's so heavy.
Hina, on the other hand, picked up the much smaller armor pieces, her body still not accustomed to the weight. She managed to put on the bra piece but found the rest too heavy for her smaller frame. She gritted her teeth in frustration, determined to keep pushing. But before she could pick up another piece, Naruto intervened.
"Don't force yourself," Naruto said, his voice calm yet firm. "One step at a time."
Hina stopped, taking a deep breath and nodding. She appreciated the support, and for the first time, she felt a warmth spread inside her. Despite the grueling training, someone cared about her progress.
As the group started running, Naruto strapped on steel shoes, which added even more weight to his body. With each step, the burden grew heavier, and he felt like a turtle compared to the others. But he pushed forward, determined not to let the weight slow him down.
Hina, who was running beside him, glanced at Naruto and couldn't help but smile despite the exhaustion she felt. Hypocrite, she thought playfully, watching him struggle to move at a normal pace, but she felt a warmth in her chest. His care for her was evident, and it gave her strength to keep going, step by step.
Naruto's words echoed in her mind. One step at a time. It was a small reminder that no matter how hard the journey, she wouldn't be facing it alone.
