Naruto: Satoru Uchiha

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Duel Begins

"There's a good show to watch now," Inuzuka said in a relaxed tone as he settled into the viewing seat.

"I still don't know what the strength of this white-haired boy is," Hyuga, sitting beside him, remarked, her eyes fixed on the field.

As someone who had faced Neji before, she knew his true strength well. Without a doubt, he was a genius. The winner of this match seemed predetermined.

On the other side, the examiners also focused intently on the two figures standing in the arena.

"This is the ninja who abstained from the preliminaries and still advanced?"

"That's right. It's him."

"He looks ordinary. Can he really beat the genius of Konoha?"

"Well, unless luck carries him, he won't get past this. The Hyuga clan is on another level."

In the arena, Satoru and Neji Hyuga stood facing each other.

"Are you going to give up, or are you going to struggle?" Neji asked coldly. "Fine, I'll end this quickly."

Neji's gaze hardened as he observed Satoru's lazy demeanor. To him, someone who relied on luck and didn't appreciate the opportunity to take the exam didn't belong here.

"Huh? Is that so?" Satoru muttered, lowering his hand from his chin. Strange. Why is this guy so mad at me? I haven't even done anything, he thought silently.

"Byakugan," Neji activated his Kekkei Genkai, his cold gaze locking onto Satoru. Despite the latter's slouched stance, there was an air of confidence about him. Was it arrogance, or did he truly possess strength?

It didn't matter. To Neji, this only made things more interesting. He relished the thought of seeing Satoru panic when faced with reality.

Without hesitation, Neji launched a flurry of attacks with the Hyuga clan's signature Gentle Fist technique. Satoru calmly observed the faint chakra flowing through Neji's hands, a bright smile curling at the corner of his lips.

"So, this is the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist technique," Satoru murmured. He recognized the danger—if struck by Neji's chakra, his own flow would be disrupted, and his abilities sealed. Yet, he simply began dodging the strikes, moving deftly while appearing to be on the defensive.

From the stands, spectators from various nations watched the scene unfold.

"He's being completely suppressed."

"It looks like it'll be over soon."

"The Hyuga family's techniques are too dominant in close combat."

"A ranged fighter might have had a chance, but not him."

Naruto and his friends also observed the battle.

"Looks like he's about to lose," Ino commented, resting her chin on her hand.

"As expected of a Hyuga genius," Shikamaru agreed.

"It's too early to tell," Naruto said confidently. "That guy isn't as simple as he seems. He's not even trying yet."

"Not trying? What makes you so sure?" Shikamaru asked, raising an eyebrow.

Naruto crossed his arms. "Satoru always looks like he's half-asleep, but trust me, he's not easy to beat. He just hasn't warmed up yet."

Back in the arena, Neji's attacks intensified. He grew visibly impatient.

"What are you doing? Why don't you fight back?" Neji demanded.

Satoru rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Well, today's fortune said I need to take 100 steps to find a peach. I've been counting, and I'm at 88 steps. Should I go for it?" he mused aloud.

Neji's expression darkened. "Are you mocking me?" The typically calm Hyuga prodigy felt an unusual surge of anger. This battle was meant to ignite his fighting spirit, but Satoru's nonchalant attitude stoked his fury instead.

"This guy's temper is almost as bad as Sasuke's," Satoru muttered, effortlessly dodging another strike.

Neji sneered. "Do you believe in fate? Your destiny today is to lose. You might as well surrender now."

Satoru blinked slowly, then replied seriously, "Is that so? But I only believe in the destiny I set for myself."

White hair fluttered as Satoru moved, his black robes billowing in the wind. Neji's eyes widened at the statement. Set your own destiny? The notion was absurd to him.

"People's talents are determined at birth," Neji declared firmly. "Everything is predestined, from birth to death. And now, your fate is to be defeated by me."

Neji surged forward, chakra swirling in his palm. "Let me help you see how ridiculous your idea of changing fate is!"

In the audience, Tenten frowned. "It's over. Neji's taking this seriously now. I hope he doesn't humiliate the poor guy too much. He is an Allied ninja, after all."

"That white-haired boy must've hit a nerve with what he said," she added with concern.
