"Do not use all your strength in a single attack. If you fail to kill your enemy, you'll be counterattacked. Again."

Truthfully, Kazuki didn't really know how to teach a five-year-old. But he could only teach Sasuke based on his own understanding. How much Sasuke would learn, Kazuki couldn't guarantee.

Combat is the most effective teaching method. As for the basics, they were not Kazuki's concern.

There would be no fancy programs either. Since this was Sasuke's first formal lesson, it would be bad if he completely shattered the kid's confidence right off the bat.

Even though Sasuke was like a spring that would bounce back if pressed down. Kazuki didn't want to leave too deep of a psychological scar on him either.

"When fighting, remember not to let your mind be agitated. Again."

"Again!!!"

In the training ground, Sasuke was completely numb.

Had he not experienced it himself, he would have never imagined that Kazuki's teaching style would be like this — attack after attack, followed by lesson after lesson, until Sasuke began to question his very existence.

'Is this really how combat is supposed to be? Even when he faced off against teachers at school, there wasn't this much pressure. Am I really this weak?'

"Alright." When Sasuke's hand, which was holding the kunai, started to tremble, Kazuki finally stopped.

"I'm not a teacher at your school. I won't be gentle with you, nor will I go easy just to build up your confidence. My way of teaching is to make you realize just how weak you are and to see all your flaws. Then, you'll have to face those flaws, work hard, and become stronger."

"Go back and carefully recall today's fight. Record it in detail in a scroll, and write a summary of at least 2,000 words. Submit it to me."

"Two... two thousand words?"

Sasuke, who was almost collapsing on the ground from exhaustion, felt like the sky was falling.

"Hahaha... I knew the captain of the training ground couldn't possibly be a gentle person. Isn't this proof enough?"

A 2,000-word summary was torture, especially for a five-year-old? It would definitely make Sasuke tear his hair out in frustration.

Exhausted from the training, having to recall the entire battle in detail, and then write a summary — this punishment was far worse than a simple beating.

At that moment, Sasuke wanted to die.

Who bullies someone like this?

"If you can't do it, you can explain it to your father."

Handing his equipment to Jiro, Kazuki clapped his hands and left the training ground. Not stepping in directly was already considered a mild teaching approach.

Step by step. If Sasuke couldn't handle writing the summary or record the battle, then he might as well continue being a laughingstock, always getting beaten.

Kazuki couldn't tell if Sasuke, who hadn't yet experienced the Uchiha massacre, already had rebellious tendencies.

Whatever, there's no need to think about that.

Kazuki didn't really plan on becoming Sasuke's teacher anyway. Whether the kid got stronger and bit back wasn't his concern. If it ever happened, Kazuki could always knock his teeth out.

Kazuki wasn't like Kakashi or Orochimaru, patiently forgiving even after being stabbed in the back.

He didn't have that kind of tolerance. If someone opposed him, he'd take them down. If someone offended him, he'd get revenge. If anyone stabbed him in the back, they'd suffer even worse.

That was Kazuki's straightforward code of conduct. Not far from the training ground, Fugaku stood silently on a tree branch, watching everything unfold below.

Seeing that Kazuki didn't directly step in, Fugaku felt relieved.

He knew exactly what Kazuki had done in the training ground before. Compared to those troublemakers, Sasuke was still a child. Such methods would leave a huge psychological scar.

Luckily, what he feared didn't happen. Kazuki genuinely tried his best to teach Sasuke. But was such training a bit too advanced for a five-year-old?

Fugaku didn't know whether pushing Sasuke toward Kazuki would end up being good or bad.

Would Sasuke cry from frustration because he had to record the battle and write a summary? Kazuki didn't know. He only knew that if Sasuke couldn't handle even this amount of pressure, he shouldn't even think about asking Kazuki to be his teacher.

Forget it.

As for whether Sasuke would actually write the summary, that wasn't Kazuki's concern anymore.

Wait, did I forget something?

Sitting in his office and waiting for the end of his shift, Kazuki blinked, feeling like he had forgotten something important, though he couldn't quite remember what.

"Captain, my mom says you're invited to dinner at our house."

Almost done with work and with no important cases left to deal with, Izumi sneaked into Kazuki's office while the others were gone.

"Auntie invited me for dinner?"

Kazuki couldn't help but recall the last time he visited Izumi's home. Aunt Hazuki's behavior had made his scalp tingle.

"Uh, I've got some things I need to handle first. Maybe next time, for sure."

"Alright."

Izumi seemed a bit disappointed after being turned down, but she quickly gathered her emotions and waved to Kazuki.

"Well then, Captain, I'm heading home."

"Go on, go on. Be careful on your way."

Wiping away non-existent sweat from his brow, Kazuki personally escorted Izumi to the door. She left cheerfully, practically skipping as she went. Watching her bounce away, Kazuki sighed almost imperceptibly.

Truth be told, Izumi was a nice girl, just a bit too young.

Kazuki understood perfectly well what Izumi's mother was aiming for, but right now, it was too early for him to get involved in such matters. Compared to Izumi, Kazuki preferred women like Kurenai — mature, intelligent, and beautiful.

As for Izumi... she was still a little sprout. Kazuki really couldn't muster any interest.

Wait, Kurenai Yuhi!!!

Kazuki suddenly remembered what he had forgotten.

Kurenai was still waiting in the interrogation room at the police department.

"..."

After waiting for an entire day, she was probably furious by now. In fact, Kurenai was already enraged. If not for the fact that leaving might get her in even more trouble, she would have already stormed out.

Kazuki had told her to wait in the interrogation room the night before, and she had obediently done so.

She'd sat there all night.

Finally, morning came, but there was still no sign of Kazuki. Due to Kazuki's orders, hardly anyone had checked the interrogation room.

It's almost over. It's almost over.

Kurenai kept comforting herself, but as time passed and the police department began to empty out as people went home, Kazuki still hadn't shown up.

"Bang!!!"

Just as Kurenai reached the limits of her patience, the door to the interrogation room finally swung open.

Kazuki walked in expressionlessly, holding a report, and slammed it down hard on the table. His action forcefully quelled the fury that had been about to erupt from Kurenai.
