Chapter 227: Chapter 226 : Blasphemy Slate Stolen!!
"This item... seems to be destined for our Aurora Order."
Mr. A spoke without hesitation, quickly tucking the gray Blasphemy Slate into his robes.
Nearby, Orochimaru stared in disbelief, watching as the "opportunity" he had worked so hard to secure was snatched away.
His heart felt like it was about to burst from his chest. With bloodshot eyes, he let out a frantic, screeching roar, "Stop! Put it down, you bastard!"
That seemingly insignificant "Blasphemy Slate" held all of his dreams and his future!
How could someone take it from him like this?!
Anger became the perfect catalyst. Orochimaru, now completely unhinged, forcibly squeezed more chakra from his cells.
Boom!
The chakra, furious and wild, was gathered into a ninjutsu as he made rapid, ghost-like hand seals.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Bullet!"
Scorching hot flames took the shape of a giant dragon in mid-air, igniting the surrounding atmosphere instantly.
The dragon soared, breaking through every obstacle in its path, and collided with the defenseless Mr. A.
In an instant, terrifyingly high temperatures spread like a volcanic eruption, sending out fiery sparks in a violent explosion. The shockwave from the blast surged outwards, creating visible ripples in the air.
The intense heat was so powerful that even White Fang, standing nearby, felt his lungs burn with every breath.
However, Orochimaru didn't stop his assault. As he continuously channeled more chakra, he forcefully swung both arms, summoning a powerful, violent gust of wind.
"Wind Style: Great Tornado!"
The fire's intensity was amplified by the wind!
The raging fire was compressed by the storm, transforming into a massive fire tornado.
The heat was so extreme that it set nearby forests ablaze. The air around them distorted from the heat, and the rocks in the heart of the flames turned a deep red, beginning to melt.
But just as the flames roared, three dark shadows suddenly leaped out from within the burning fire.
Upon closer inspection, it was revealed to be the black-masked monsters that had just emerged from Mr. A's body. One of them, with a blue mask, opened its mouth and sprayed a torrent of violent water.
Heh heh heh!
Water and fire collided, and for a moment, steam and smoke filled the air.
Mr. A, whose body had been burned to a crisp by the flames, slowly emerged from the thick smoke. The charred, carbonized skin on his body began to peel off bit by bit, revealing fresh new skin beneath.
He grinned at the two of them and said, "Not bad, you've got spirit. Are you really not planning to join the Aurora Order?"
Orochimaru glared at him, his teeth grinding together, but despite having just unleashed a burst of chakra, his reserves were running low.
Beside him, White Fang appeared to be in even worse shape. Having been directly "touched" by the attack, the flesh on his chest had rotted away in large patches. He couldn't summon any strength and could only convey his anger through his eyes.
Seeing their reactions, Mr. A sighed with disappointment, shaking his head. "If you're not willing, then forget it. I don't like forcing people."
However, after a brief pause, he looked at them with his eerie blood-red eyes, his expression turning mad. Licking his lips cruelly, he said, "Then I'll ask you to die here!"
Tear!
He tore off large chunks of flesh from his chest, wearing a strange smile as he threw them at Orochimaru and White Fang.
It was this very attack that had incapacitated White Fang earlier.
Orochimaru bit his finger and slammed his hand on the ground. "Summoning Jutsu: Great Serpent!"
With his chakra nearly depleted, he couldn't summon the Rashomon Gate, so he could only call upon the lowest-level contract beast from the Ryūchi Cave.
Boom!
A large cloud of white smoke rose, and a massive, gray serpent, several meters in diameter, appeared.
"Protect us!" Orochimaru quickly ordered.
The gray serpent coiled around them, creating a solid wall of flesh and blood, shielding the two of them in the center.
As the chunks of flesh that Mr. A had torn from himself hit the gray serpent, a violent explosion occurred. A blood-red storm surged, ravaging everything in its path. Its terrifying corrosive power, like powerful sulfuric acid, quickly corroded the serpent into a sticky mass of blood and flesh within seconds.
But in the center of the serpent, now reduced to white bones, Mr. A couldn't find any trace of Orochimaru or White Fang.
"Tsk, they escaped?" Mr. A arrived in the middle of the bones, noticing the soft, muddy ground. He frowned slightly, his expression showing a hint of displeasure.
"You're lucky this time. If we meet again, you won't be so fortunate." With a cold laugh, he didn't bother to chase the two.
After all, the last time he had failed his mission, and the severe punishment from the Saint was still fresh in his memory. He didn't want to cause more trouble.
Orochimaru had drained his last bit of chakra, and with the corrupted flesh of White Fang, he used Earth Release to escape back to the secret base.
However, under the heavy blow of the injury that hadn't yet healed and losing the Blasphemy Slate, Orochimaru grew angrier the more he thought about it. His blood pressure shot up, his vision darkened, and he fainted.
When he woke up again, he didn't know how long had passed.
Next to him, White Fang was barely alive, gasping for breath.
Mr. A, from the Aurora Order, seemed to have used some strange ability. The flesh that had separated from the body caused a violent explosion.
Even after the explosion, the flying blood and scattered flesh that splattered onto White Fang's body kept eroding it, which was terrifying.
Seeing this, Orochimaru didn't hesitate any longer. He immediately arranged incense and candles in the room and carved a mysterious symbol on the floor, as he had envisioned in his mind.
Once everything was in place, he calmed himself and softly began chanting:
"Dragon roaming in the Sea of Collective Subconscious,
Shadow under the tide of time,
Ancient ruler from distant past,
I pray to you,
Grant me your aid."
As the deep chant echoed, the candle flames emitted a blue light.
In the next moment, Orochimaru seemed to pass through layers of mist, traveling among countless shining stars, finally arriving at a grand and towering church made entirely of bones.
Behind an ancient, weathered bronze long table, beneath the massive white bone cross, a figure sat surrounded by a faint glow, as if it had been there since ancient times.
"Mr. Adam."
Orochimaru, with a hint of fear in his heart, trembled as he spoke, "I have failed your expectations."
The figure sitting at the long table, 'Adam,' tapped his index finger lightly on the surface of the table. His indifferent and calm voice echoed in the vast, empty bone church: "Tell me, in detail."
"I found one of the Blasphemy Slate with White Fang, but on the way back, we were discovered by the Aurora Order!" Orochimaru gritted his teeth, his eyes burning with fury, as if the anger had turned into something tangible.
"Please forgive our incompetence. Mr. A... he stole the Blasphemy Slate from us!"
"I understand."
However, on the high platform, 'Adam' seemed completely unbothered, not showing the slightest bit of surprise or emotional reaction.
The more he reacted this way, the more uneasy Orochimaru became, his heart filled with anxiety. "Mr. Adam, you... you're not going to blame us?"
"Why would I blame you?"
'Adam' looked at him indifferently and said nonchalantly, "The fragments of the Blasphemy Slate aren't just one. You can go and find another one later."
In fact, Uchiha Sogetsu really didn't care and wasn't planning on punishing Orochimaru.
After all, it was Sogetsu who had sent Mr. A on that mission.
There was no other reason for it.
Of course, it wasn't because of personal grudges, revenge, or anything like that.
And it certainly wasn't because Orochimaru had acted without permission and dragged Uchiha Mikoto into the matter, trying to convince her to join the Twilight Hermit Order.
No, absolutely not!
As everyone knows, Uchiha Sogetsu never holds grudges.
