In the distance, Shikaku and the others realized their attack had failed.
As they turned around, they saw Aizen suddenly strike Jiraiya, sending him flying. Their pupils shrank at the unexpected sight.
Seeing Aizen's calm expression, their brows furrowed deeply.
Orochimaru's snake-like eyes fixated on Aizen with cold indifference, but his heart was filled with shock.
How is this possible? He had been standing here just moments ago. How could he suddenly appear beside Jiraiya?
"Is it some kind of space-time ninjutsu? But I didn't sense any spatial distortion at all. Aizen, how did you avoid our attack!?"
Dai broke the silence with a deep voice, "Looks like I have to use "that" move."
Hearing this, Shikaku was momentarily stunned. He then turned toward Dai, his expression grave. "That state—how long can you maintain it, Dai?"
Dai didn't take his eyes off Aizen, staring intently as he replied, "It should be long enough to buy Jiraiya some time. And maybe... just maybe, this move will be enough to defeat him!"
A glint of determination flashed in Dai's eyes.
Even if the cost is severe, it will be worth it if I can stop you, Sōsuke.
Orochimaru was taken aback by Dai's confidence. He narrowed his eyes and hissed, "Dai, don't act recklessly. We still don't fully understand Aizen's abilities."
"If we can't figure out how he avoids our attacks, any move you make might be in vain."
Orochimaru's analysis was sound. He knew that Dai's attacks were primarily based on taijutsu.
Regardless of whether Aizen's avoidance was achieved through space-time ninjutsu or illusions, either method would give him an overwhelming advantage over Dai.
Dai was silent for a moment before replying softly, "No matter what, I have to try. This is all I can do. After this, it'll be up to you."
His words left both Shikaku and Orochimaru stunned.
They understood what Dai meant. He intended to engage Aizen in combat to decipher his techniques, paving the way for the next phase of their battle.
Without waiting for a response, Dai stepped forward.
"Clack."
Fixing his gaze on Aizen, he declared, "Sōsuke, our fight begins now!"
Aizen glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, his tone calm. "Dai, do you intend to use the Eight Gates again? If you're planning to drag me down with you, I'd advise against it. Such actions hold no meaning for me."
Dai tightened his lips, unraveling the thick bandages wrapped around his hands. Looking up, he spoke resolutely, "Don't worry. This move was created specifically to stop you. I hope it serves its purpose."
Aizen lowered his gaze slightly, his voice steady. "A technique of your own creation? Impressive, Dai. Your talent in taijutsu is truly remarkable, even to someone like me. But choosing to oppose me has closed the door to surpassing your limits. That is truly unfortunate."
Dai lowered his head, murmuring, "Even so, I want to bring you back. Not like this—not as enemies standing on opposite sides."
"Prepare yourself. This technique is for you!"
Aizen's eyes glinted with intrigue. "Show me."
The moment Aizen spoke, Dai vanished from sight.
"Whoosh!"
An ear-piercing sound of air being torn apart echoed as Dai appeared in front of Aizen in an instant. Twisting his body, he unleashed a powerful spinning kick aimed directly at him!
Aizen, unperturbed, calmly raised his sheathed blade to block the attack effortlessly.
"Boom!"
The impact shattered the ground around Aizen, but the two combatants at the center of the collision remained unmoving.
Dai frowned slightly, thinking, This time, I hit him. He didn't use the same method to dodge as before.
But at this level, I can't cause him any real harm!
Leaping backward into the air, Dai clenched his fists tightly. "The Fourth Gate... Gate of Pain, open!"
With his declaration, an intense surge of green chakra erupted from his body, radiating like flames.
Dai landed heavily, his back leg bracing against the ground. With a powerful stomp, he launched himself toward Aizen, his figure streaking forward like a green blur.
Behind him, the ground cracked and shattered, sending waves of dust and debris flying in his wake.
Aizen, still calm, remarked, "This technique is pointless, no matter how many times you use it. Our previous battle already proved that."
But Dai didn't respond. Drawing close, he twisted his body and shouted, "Secret Technique. Subduing the Tiger!"
Dai's leg swung down from above like a scythe, carrying with it a chakra-forged tiger head that roared with blazing green energy.
Aizen chose not to evade. Lowering his gaze, he murmured, "Kyouka Suigetsu. Resonant Fang."
Placing his hand on his blade, a blinding white light erupted.
"Boom!"
The white arc collided with Dai's ferocious tiger-head attack, resulting in an explosion of energy that sent shockwaves rippling outward.
The ground trembled, debris flew, and the air vibrated with the force of their clash.
"Boom—"
The ground seemed to tear apart as cracks nearly ten meters long appeared, accompanied by strong gusts of wind swirling sand and dust into the air. Massive trees swayed violently under the force.
Nearby, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Sakumo, and Orochimaru all watched the scene with solemn expressions, their hearts gripped by shock.
This scene mirrored something that happened years ago—two individuals once locked in battle had now crossed paths again.
"Bang!"
Under the intensified white blade glow, now several times stronger than before, Dai—despite his significant progress—could not hold his ground and was forced to retreat!
His body flew backward uncontrollably, his clothing torn to shreds. Although his entire body felt like it had been slashed by knives and was subjected to powerful winds tearing at him, his determined gaze did not waver.
In a low voice, he exclaimed.
"Sixth Gate, Gate of View, open!"
As his words fell, an enormous surge of green chakra erupted from him, far more intense than before.
His eyes turned faintly white, his hair stood on end, and the chakra swirling around him formed a protective layer, temporarily mitigating the damage from Aizen's razor-sharp blade attacks.
"Hm?"
From a distance, Aizen let out a quiet hum and calmly turned his gaze toward Dai.
Dai had been sent flying over a hundred meters away by the immense blade glow, his body covered in numerous fine wounds. Even though a layer of chakra enveloped him, blood still seeped out slowly.
"Huff—huff—"
Dai took deep, heavy breaths, seemingly to recover from the previous damage.
In the next moment, his body crouched in an odd posture, veins bulging on his forehead as his teeth clenched tightly. His glowing eyes radiated with intense resolve.
Seeing this, Aizen's calm expression shifted slightly, a trace of amused interest appearing as he spoke lightly.
"Interesting. Is this the technique you've prepared for me, Dai?"
"Hah... hah..."
Dai gritted his teeth as if enduring immense strain. The green chakra surrounding him grew denser, almost as if reaching a critical threshold. Suddenly, he lifted his head, his face contorted in fury as he roared.
"Ultimate Technique. Raging Bear!"
In the next instant, his figure vanished, leaving behind a collapsing ground where he had stood. A massive chasm spread across the battlefield.
The spectators were stunned, their shock evident as they watched the scene unfold.
"Boom—"
The already battered ground now looked as though an invisible giant hand had ripped it apart. A powerful shockwave rushed toward Aizen.
Aizen's eyes narrowed slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Suddenly, a figure cloaked in what appeared to be green flames appeared directly before Aizen. The two stood face to face.
"Boom!"
The figure engulfed in green flames threw a punch at Aizen, its force awe-inspiring and overwhelming.
Facing such a terrifying attack, Aizen raised his arm to block, his ever-calm demeanor giving way to a hint of seriousness.
"Bang!"
Aizen was sent flying backward, his expression unchanging as a glint of light flashed through his eyes. As he retreated, he thought to himself.
"Impressive strength, Dai. But if this is all you've got, it won't be enough to threaten me."
Even as this thought crossed his mind, Dai—his face twisted with determination—stomped down hard on the ground, propelling himself forward and vanishing once again.
"Boom—"
The ground collapsed once more, leaving a semicircular crater amidst the battlefield's dust and debris.
Aizen remained expressionless, his peripheral vision catching sight of Dai's figure appearing like a phantom beside him.
"Take this, Sōsuke!"
With a ferocious roar, Dai drew his arm back and delivered a devastating punch aimed straight at Aizen. Green chakra swirled around his body like roaring flames, making him appear formidable.
"Dai, you're too confident," Aizen remarked.
His voice was light yet firm as he met Dai's attack head-on. Aizen didn't dodge. Instead, he raised his arm and unleashed a simple yet powerful punch.
"Boom—"
The clash of their fists sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield, fracturing the ground and filling the air with smoke and debris. Both fighters were propelled backward.
As the dust settled, Dai—his eyes glowing white and his breath heavy—stood with unwavering determination. The green chakra around him, fierce and blazing, grew even stronger.
Aizen, calm and composed, observed Dai with a faint smile.
"It seems this technique has greatly enhanced your strength," he remarked, glancing at the surging green chakra enveloping Dai.
"Raging Bear? A defensive layer formed by compressed chakra?" he mused. "It's an interesting method, but against a superior force, how do you plan to cope? Will you cling to futile resistance?"
Gritting his teeth, Dai retorted.
"This technique hasn't revealed its true power yet! And as long as I can fight you, the outcome of this battle remains uncertain!"
Aizen chuckled softly, his gaze sharp yet amused.
"Dai, you place too much faith in yourself. You must understand, the gap between us isn't something that sheer effort can bridge."
Undeterred, Dai growled.
"I'll keep trying with everything I've got!"
Aizen shook his head lightly, a faint smile lingering on his face. Slowly, he sheathed Kyōka Suigetsu and freed both hands as if preparing to fight Dai solely with physical techniques.
"You're not the only one who knows the Eight Gates, Dai," Aizen said quietly. "And your chakra control is far too crude. Watch carefully."
As he spoke, Aizen spread his arms, as though releasing some invisible restraints. Gradually, a radiant, pure-white chakra began to rise from his body.
To everyone's shock, the chakra transformed, becoming dense and almost liquid-like, defying its usual form. Within moments, it gathered and solidified on Aizen's shoulders, stunning the spectators.
From Jiraiya's shoulder, Shima's voice trembled with disbelief.
"What... What is this guy!?"
On the other side, Fukasaku's expression was equally grave as he muttered.
"I haven't seen anything like this in ages. Such advanced chakra transformation is beyond imagination!"
Despite his heavy expression, Jiraiya nodded solemnly, saying.
"We'll have to rely on the two of you, Sages!"
The two toad sages nodded gravely, knowing the situation demanded their full focus.
Meanwhile, Orochimaru's serpentine eyes glimmered with interest as he thought.
"So this is the level you've reached, Aizen."
On the battlefield, a few drops of Aizen's liquid-like white chakra fell to the ground, causing the earth to tremble and crack as if struck by something immense.
Even Dai, ever resolute, clenched his fists tighter, readying himself for the next move.
Suddenly, Aizen's chakra erupted into a pillar of white light, piercing the night sky and shocking all who were near Konoha.
The pillar soon receded, enveloping Aizen's body in a soft, radiant glow. Smiling, he turned to Dai and Jiraiya, extending one hand as if inviting the next attack.
