"Exactly! Who else in the village has more authority than Orochimaru?"

"Given the police force's track record, is there anyone in this village they wouldn't dare arrest?"

"Haha, what's next? The Hokage himself?"

"Fool! Orochimaru isn't the highest-ranking figure in the village. Don't forget about the three Advisors! They hold real power, unlike Orochimaru, whose high status is mostly symbolic."

"Are you saying someone behind Orochimaru is one of the Advisors? That's impossible—they're Advisors!"

"I didn't say that! Stop putting words in my mouth!"

The whispers among the Konoha villagers grew louder, buzzing like an unending swarm of bees. Listening to their chatter, Hiruzen's expression darkened, his fists clenching within the folds of his wide sleeves.

"Hokage-sama," Fugaku stepped forward, presenting three scrolls to Hiruzen. "These are Orochimaru's confessions during interrogation, along with evidence we found in his laboratory. Please review them and issue the necessary orders for arrest as soon as possible."

As Fugaku spoke, he handed over the scrolls. Hiruzen's face was a storm of foreboding. The worst had come to pass, but he knew he had to remain impartial. He couldn't show any favoritism, the villagers' trust in the system was at stake. Taking a deep breath, he accepted the scrolls and unrolled the first one.

His face turned ashen as his eyes scanned the damning contents. A surge of anger boiled within him.

The scroll was handwritten by Orochimaru while under genjutsu, detailing his and Danzo's heinous deeds. Human experiments, forbidden jutsu research, drug development, desecration of the previous Hokages—each revelation was more appalling than the last.

Hiruzen's temples throbbed as he read. His anger threatened to explode. This evidence alone was enough to condemn both Danzo and Orochimaru to death, with no chance of reprieve.

Without pausing, he unrolled the other scrolls. A quick skim confirmed the severity of the situation. Taking another deep breath, he turned to Kakashi, who stood nearby, awaiting orders.

"Deliver my command," Hiruzen said gravely. "Arrest Shimura Danzo and Aburame Ryoma immediately. If they resist, execute them on the spot!"

Then, he turned to Fugaku. "The police force will assist in Danzo's apprehension. Ensure both suspects are captured alive if possible."

There was no room for debate. The crimes aligned squarely with the police force's jurisdiction.

"Yes, Hokage-sama," Kakashi and Fugaku responded in unison.

Fugaku, accompanied by Akira and a squad of police officers, swiftly joined Hiruzen's ANBU as they headed underground toward the Root headquarters.

Back in the village square, the residents watched the departing police force and ANBU, their murmurings swelling into an uncontrollable uproar.

"Our Advisors were involved in human experiments?!"

"How did someone like that become an Advisor? Was the Hokage blind?"

"I heard Danzo was the Second Hokage's student. So is the current Hokage. Do you see the connection now?"

"Hey, watch what you say! If you've got something to say, say it outright! Stop being cryptic!"

"Who's being cryptic? I'm just stating facts!"

"Tch, who knows how much darkness is hidden beneath the surface? Who would've thought the village Advisors would use our own people as experimental fodder?"

Hiruzen clenched his fists as he listened, the villagers' words stabbing at his heart like needles.

After today, the good reputation he had painstakingly built would be irreparably damaged.

"Damn you, Danzo," he thought bitterly. "You're nothing but a liability! If only I could rip you apart with my own hands!"

Hiruzen sighed deeply, suppressing his rage. Speaking loudly, he addressed the crowd:

"Everyone, please calm down! I ask you to wait for the official investigation results. Do not spread rumors or act on baseless suspicions. I assure you, the guilty will face severe punishment!"

His words managed to quiet the crowd for only a moment before the noise resumed. Hiruzen shook his head slightly, knowing his words held little weight against the people's pent-up frustration.

In recent months, too many villagers had gone missing—children, adults, even shinobi. The tally exceeded a hundred. Anxiety and resentment had been festering among the populace, and now, with evidence pointing to the village's leadership, their anger was erupting like a volcano.

Root Headquarters, Underground Konoha

"Danzo-sama, something's happened. Orochimaru has been arrested by the police force. The villagers are in an uproar, demanding harsh punishment for him. Large crowds are gathering at the Hokage's Office," reported a masked Root operative, kneeling respectfully.

Root's intelligence network, independent of the ANBU, had already alerted them to the unfolding chaos.

Danzo's face darkened, visible panic creeping into his expression. If their activities were exposed, it would be the end for him.

"Is it true? Orochimaru was captured by the police force?" he asked, his voice trembling.

"Yes, Danzo-sama. The police have already escorted him to the Hokage's Office. Reports indicate the matter is far from over. They're waiting for the Hokage to issue arrest orders for someone even higher up."

Danzo's heart sank. His last shred of hope vanished as he slumped into his chair, his face pale as a ghost.

Orochimaru had succumbed to the Sharingan's genjutsu, spilling everything. Their years of clandestine activities had been exposed to the police.

Their crimes had crossed Konoha's moral boundaries. With the current public outcry, Hiruzen would have no choice but to order his arrest.

Danzo's thoughts raced. He had few options left:

Flee the village immediately and live as a rogue ninja. Surrender, hoping Hiruzen would show leniency and manage to outmaneuver the Uchiha clan. The best-case scenario would be spending the rest of his life in prison. Fight back and eliminate the Uchiha on the spot, securing his freedom.

The decision loomed over him like a guillotine.
