Chapter 2: CH. 2 - Time to Get to Work
After ensuring that Hinata had safely made it out of the forest, Ryujin made his way back to the storage house. He quickly formed the hand seals for the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. Unfortunately, he overdid it, summoning around two thousand clones. Though excessive, the number would serve his purpose. Addressing the assembled clones, Ryujin issued orders with precision:
"Alright, five hundred of you work on chakra control exercises. Another five hundred, head to the library and gather books on medicine, psychology, mathematics, history, biology, chemistry, science, kenjutsu, senjutsu, fūinjutsu, shurikenjutsu, chakra theory, ninjutsu, taijutsu, and blacksmithing. The next batch will focus on calligraphy. As for the last five hundred, gather food, hone your cooking skills, and then work on gaining better control over our Kekkei Genkai and Dōjutsu."
At his command, 1,500 clones dispersed, each group moving efficiently to complete their tasks. The remaining five hundred clones began spreading out to perform chakra control exercises, engaging in various techniques to refine their skills.
With the clones occupied, Ryujin turned his attention to his physical conditioning. He started with a run of five hundred laps around the forest. However, given his current level of physical prowess, it felt almost pointless. Frustrated, he shifted to a more strenuous activity: bench-pressing a large boulder. The exertion proved beneficial, significantly improving his strength.
Returning to the storage house later, Ryujin noticed that all of his clones had completed their tasks and dispelled themselves. To avoid overwhelming himself, he absorbed their memories and experiences ten at a time. The process was time-consuming, taking about an hour, but the rewards were immense. His chakra control had improved slightly, and his understanding of various subjects—cooking, chakra theory, medicine, psychology, biology, chemistry, mathematics, science, history, kenjutsu, senjutsu, fūinjutsu, ninjutsu, taijutsu, blacksmithing, shurikenjutsu, and calligraphy—had advanced by leaps and bounds.
The next morning, Ryujin decided to head into the village to acquire weapons and equipment. Though his clan had perished, their wealth remained accessible to him.
As he wandered through the streets in search of a weapons shop, Ryujin's attention was drawn to a familiar figure: a blonde-haired Naruto Uzumaki. However, to his surprise, Naruto wasn't a "he"—she was a "she." Even more astonishing was the woman accompanying her: Kushina Uzumaki. She was far more beautiful than her portrayal in the anime, with strikingly distinct features that captivated him.
Confused, Ryujin realized that Kushina's presence meant he was likely in an alternate universe. His thoughts raced, weighing the advantages and disadvantages of the situation. On the positive side, this alternate reality presented new opportunities for growth. On the negative side, it introduced unpredictable elements, including the potential emergence of non-canon characters. He couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of encountering one of the many princesses he remembered from filler episodes.
"I'll have to find a way onto Team 7," he mused, knowing that their missions were crucial stepping stones for growth.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Ryujin resumed his search for a weapons shop. After an hour of wandering, he became aware of someone tailing him. The clumsy attempt at stealth made it obvious who it was—Hinata Hyūga. Her lavender scent gave her away immediately. Stopping briefly, he glanced over his shoulder and winked at her before continuing on his way.
Eventually, Ryujin found a shop called "Hayashi Metal Works." The sign, featuring a kunai and shuriken, caught his attention. He pushed open the door, the sound of a bell announcing his arrival.
The shop was well-stocked, with rows of weapons, ninja gear, and even clothing neatly displayed. A tall, burly, light-skinned man with a bald head approached him.
"Can I help you?" the man asked in a deep voice.
Ryujin turned to face him. "Hi. I'm looking to buy a few weapons and ninja equipment."
The man frowned slightly, eyeing Ryujin skeptically. "You're awfully young to be buying weapons and gear. Where are your parents?" he asked, glancing around as if expecting someone else to appear.
Ryujin lowered his head, his voice dropping. "They're dead."
The man's expression softened, and he quickly tried to backtrack. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean—"
"It's fine," Ryujin interrupted, cutting him off with a faint smile. "So, can I buy what I came for?"
The shopkeeper nodded hesitantly, leading Ryujin through the aisles of weapons and gear. The young ninja's sharp eyes roved over the displays as he selected his arsenal with precision and intent. He picked out dual katanas with sleek black blades, a pair of twin daggers crafted for both combat and utility, a bow with a matching quiver of arrows, and dual hidden wrist blades ingeniously designed for discreet lethality.
Not stopping there, Ryujin turned his attention to the apparel section. He chose fifteen identical outfits, each tailored to adapt to his growing frame over the years. The ensemble he settled on was a seamless blend of modernized ninja aesthetics and tactical functionality. The outfit began with a black mesh base layer, offering flexibility and lightweight protection. Over this, he selected a sleek black high-collared jacket accented with bold red detailing, including a vibrant red interior lining and a striking cross-like emblem emblazoned on the left shoulder. The jacket remained open at the front, revealing the fitted black undershirt beneath, which featured a partial zipper for a streamlined, tactical edge.
A black face mask, reminiscent of Kakashi's, covered the lower half of his face, enhancing his mysterious aura. Topping it off, a hood inspired by the Assassin's Creed series framed his face with sharp, angular lines. This hood wasn't just for aesthetics—it completed the menacing silhouette Ryujin sought, providing both stealth and intimidation.
For the lower half, he selected black tactical pants reinforced with knee patches and adorned with subtle red accents along the seams for both durability and style. Multiple utility pockets lined the thighs, perfect for carrying tools or gear. The tapered calves, secured by straps, ensured unhindered movement. He completed the look with Shinobi-style black combat boots trimmed in red, sturdy enough to traverse any terrain without sacrificing stealth.
Ryujin's hands would be protected by metal-plated fingerless gloves, balancing armored resilience with unimpeded dexterity. Concealed within these gloves were twin retractable hidden blades, ready to deploy for swift and silent takedowns. A red sash tied at his waist flowed dynamically behind him, adding a flourish to his movements.
For weapon placement, the dual katanas rested comfortably at his left hip in sheaths of black and red. A compact bow and quiver were slung across his back, while the twin daggers were strapped horizontally at his lower back for quick access in close combat.
The shopkeeper stared at the growing collection of equipment with an incredulous expression. "Do you really need all of this?" he asked, beads of sweat forming on his brow.
Ryujin gave a sharp nod, his expression unwavering. "Yes. And I'm not done."
He rattled off the rest of his order with calm precision. "I'll also need five large sealing scrolls, each containing 10,000 smaller scrolls sealed within, with all five stored in five smaller scrolls for convenience. Add to that 500,000 shuriken, 500,000 kunai, 600,000 ninja wires, 600,000 senbon, 800,000 small empty vials, 5,000 fuma shuriken, a calligraphy set, 900,000 small empty scrolls, 700,000 empty sealing tags, and 800,000 smoke bombs."
The shopkeeper's jaw dropped, his eyes bulging as he stammered, "T-that… that would cost you nine million ryo! Are you sure you can even afford that?"
Ryujin smirked, pulling out a large scroll from his pouch. With a few hand seals, he unsealed the exact amount of money from the scroll, plus a generous surplus. "Here you go," he said casually, placing the payment on the counter.
The shopkeeper blinked at the pile of ryo in disbelief. "That's way too much!" he protested.
Ryujin shrugged. "It's fine. Think of it as an advance. I'll likely need custom weapons from you in the future."
Still stunned, the man managed to nod, accepting the payment. He had no idea who Ryujin was, but one thing was clear—this young ninja was unlike anyone he'd ever encountered.
Ryujin sealed everything into One Scroll and placing it into his pocket, he was getting ready to leave, but the man stops him.
"Hey kid, what's your name?" he asked, Bright smile on his Face.
"It's Ryujin Eterimaki, but just my me Ryu" Ryujin Responded "Nice to meet you, I'm Natsume Hayashi, I hope you return Ryu-Sama" he said bowing great fully, Ryujin simply Nodded before Leaving.
