Naruto: The Hyuga Mastermind

Chapter 127: Chapter 128: The Death of Hyuga Fuji

Chapter 128: The Death of Hyuga Fuji

"You are among the last few. Most have already accepted the mental sphere. From now on, I will relay the plans to you through it."

The sensation of directly communicating through a mental network fascinated Chino, while Rin hesitated for a moment before cautiously asking, "Sensei Minato… is he really dead?"

She had heard the theory about the sun and the moon, but she didn't think Hyuga Fuji's plans required Sensei Minato's death.

"That depends on how many people wished for his death and how many wished for him to live."

Hyuga Fuji picked up the documents on the table, finishing the last of his work, and said, "I never restricted the actions of the resurrected shinobi. All of the intelligence from Hidden is accessible to them. If they wanted to save Minato, I wouldn't have stopped them."

All Hidden's shinobi could see it…

Rin nodded in realization, feeling reassured.

While other ninjas might hesitate because of Fuji-senpai's unknown stance, what about the Second Hokage?

The position of Second Squad Captain had always been reserved for Tobirama Senju, who had full access to all information!

Chino, experimenting with the mental communication channel for a while and scanning through the plans, curiously asked:

"Are you leaving Konoha?"

"Advanced systems replace outdated ones. That applies to technology, systems, and even ideology."

Hyuga Fuji smiled. "Compared to the living, the dead often see things more clearly. In just six months, they accepted the ideas I wanted to convey, becoming my followers and allies."

"Everything has met my expectations. The ideas I wanted to teach have been spread through Konoha, the strongest shinobi village, and are now being adopted by other villages."

"The most critical accumulation of strength and technology is also complete. What I can accomplish in Konoha is mostly done. Therefore, my work here is coming to an end."

Hearing this, Rin and Chino left thoughtfully.

After they departed, Hatake Sakumo entered silently, standing off to the side.

"Not saying goodbye to Kakashi?"

"No need."

"Is that so?"

Hyuga Fuji finished processing the last few documents. "If we become enemies in the future, it will be even harder to have a conversation."

"I'm prepared for that," Hatake Sakumo replied calmly, his gaze shifting to the door. A shadow silently approached from outside and knocked softly.

Someone else had come to see Hyuga Fuji.

But neither Sakumo nor Hyuga Fuji made any move to stop them this time.

"Come in," Hyuga Fuji said.

A shinobi dressed in clothing bearing the Nara clan insignia stepped inside, bowing to Hyuga Fuji before presenting a file. He began reciting the research findings of his team:

"Sir, the development of Shadow Teleportation is nearly perfect. We've achieved short-distance spatial movement. However, the shadow-space technique has reached a bottleneck…"

After listening carefully, Hyuga Fuji asked, "Do you want to leave these behind?"

The Nara ninja was silent for a moment before smiling as if coming to terms with something. "Yes, leave them. As members of the Nara clan, this is our final contribution to the clan. From now on, we will meet only as individuals defined by our positions, not our past."

"Very well. Hand them over."

Hyuga Fuji accepted the documents, sealing them in a scroll.

The Nara ninja bowed once more before departing.

After that, it felt like a stage of summaries had begun, as more and more people came.

"Izanagi and transcription seal research…"

"The Forbidden Techniques Release Plan. The Eight Gates Formation has reached its third stage of research…"

"Tsunade-senpai's proposed medical talisman development project…"

Uchiha… Yamanaka… Aburame…

From the major clans to civilian shinobi, representatives from all walks of life came.

Researchers of technology, bloodline studies, medical ninjutsu, and psychological care…

All of them had made extraordinary contributions to Konoha, yet one by one, they came to stand before Hyuga Fuji.

Some left their results behind, cutting ties with Konoha entirely. Others, feeling no debt to the village, handed their work over to Hyuga Fuji and moved on to new pursuits.

Hatake Sakumo stood silently by, listening to descriptions of these powerful or practical techniques, feeling a wave of emotion.

The greatest technical research group in the shinobi world was under Hyuga Fuji's command. The Technology Development Bureau was merely a facade for them to thrive.

Now, they might leave their technologies behind, but their departure meant cutting ties with Konoha.

What was more important—technology, or the people who could create such techniques and ninjutsu?

Everyone had their own answer. For Sakumo, the answer was clear: the latter was far more important.

After watching the last shinobi leave, Hatake Sakumo began preparing to leave as well, only to hear Hyuga Fuji ask:

"I'd like to ask you, Sakumo-senpai, how do you think Hokage's Assistant Hyuga Fuji performed? Did I disappoint the people of Konoha?"

Sakumo's expression shifted slightly before he nodded heavily.

Revitalizing the economy, strengthening Konoha's power, and fostering technological advancements.

Weakening the influence of major clans, promoting talented and passionate civilian shinobi, and enhancing Konoha's foundations.

Paying close attention to the mental health of all shinobi, establishing new educational institutions, proposing various treatment plans, and implementing research and treatment centers.

As Hokage's Assistant, Hyuga Fuji had performed exceptionally well.

Seeing Sakumo's nod, Hyuga Fuji smiled faintly. "Then, until we meet again, Sakumo-senpai."

Sakumo's expression was complex as he bid farewell to Hyuga Fuji and walked away.

To dominate Konoha and lead it to rule the shinobi world?

That was your thought, Dan.

That was what you hoped Hyuga Fuji would do.

You believed he had the ability to do it.

But Hyuga Fuji had his own goals, his own forces. He didn't have to choose Konoha.

Now, the sun had set. If the moon were to vanish too, what would this world become?

Sakumo looked up at the bright moon, suddenly longing for a drink.

Before darkness completely fell.

That night, news of the Fourth Hokage's death was relayed through Uchiha Yakumaru's summoning technique. Before Konoha's leadership could even react, one terrible piece of news after another followed.

Jiraiya, one of the Sannin, had disappeared, his whereabouts unknown.

Orochimaru, another of the Sannin, was reported to have conducted human experiments and defected with personnel from the Root after being exposed. The Third Hokage led a team in pursuit, engaging Orochimaru outside Konoha.

Meanwhile, Tsunade, the last of the Sannin, was still outside the village and hadn't returned.

Uchiha Fugaku, worried about potential attacks on Yakumaru and Tsunade, personally led a team to escort them.

The Fourth's wife, Uzumaki Kushina, was pregnant.

In an instant, Konoha was left with only one strong figure capable of stabilizing the situation—the Hokage's Assistant, Hyuga Fuji.

But… Hyuga Fuji was nowhere to be found in his room.

Shikaku stared at the various documents left on Hyuga Fuji's desk, his face grave.

A storm of thoughts flashed through his mind.

Recently, Hyuga Fuji's actions pieced together into a chilling possibility.

Could the Fourth's death… have been connected to Hyuga Fuji?

As this thought passed through Shikaku's mind, a piercing scream tore through the skies above Konoha.

"Ahhh!"

"Assistant Fuji, Assistant Fuji, he…"

"What about Assistant Fuji?!"

"Second Hokage Rock…"

Everyone turned toward the screaming shinobi and gasped.

In the cold wind, dark red robes swayed gently, like a heavy shadow against the night. Dried blood etched a horrific and chilling scene on the rock face.

A corpse, a blade piercing through its chest, hung from the Second Hokage's visage on the Hokage Rock.

It was the early hours of the morning, and the sky was just beginning to brighten.

Informed of the situation, Shikaku looked toward the Hokage Rock and staggered, almost fainting.

Konoha's pillar, the architect of change, the one who brought prosperity—Hokage's Assistant Hyuga Fuji—was nailed to the Second Hokage Rock, dead.
