Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

"Naruto, you're just in time," Kakashi said as Naruto arrived in a hurry.

"Kakashi-sensei, Sakura, are you okay?" Naruto asked, dodging an attack from a Sound ninja as he approached.

"We're fine, Naruto," Sakura replied, her voice trembling slightly after narrowly escaping an attack.

"What's going on here?" Naruto asked, puzzled by the chaos.

"It's a long story," Kakashi said, dealing with another Sound ninja. "I'll let Sakura explain it to you later."

"Kirito, how are things in other parts of the village?" Guy asked after sending a Sound ninja flying into a nearby wall.

"There are skirmishes in every section of the arena," Kirito replied, his Byakugan scanning the surroundings. "The sleeping audience members are being left alone. However, the village walls have been breached by a massive three-headed snake heading toward the village center."

Naruto and Sakura looked worried.

"Where's Sasuke? Is he okay?" Naruto asked.

"He's chasing after Gaara and the others, heading toward the outskirts of the village," Kirito informed them.

"That guy…" Naruto muttered.

Kakashi nodded. "Naruto, you've been asking for higher-level missions, haven't you? Well, here's an A-rank mission for you."

"Really?!" Naruto's eyes sparkled with excitement, though concern for Sasuke quickly clouded his expression. "But what about Sasuke?"

Kakashi reassured him. "Listen carefully. Your mission is to catch up with Sasuke, assist him, and stop him from going any farther. Then, wait in a safe location until further orders."

"If this is an A-rank mission, wouldn't more people help?" Sakura suggested. "I could wake up Ino and Choji."

Kakashi shook his head. "No. The village has been invaded by numerous Sand and Sound ninjas. If there are too many of you, it could slow you down or make you an easier target."

"True," Sakura conceded, looking around. "But with just us, it's only three people if we include Kirito. Would you join us, Kakashi-sensei?"

"It's fine," Kirito interjected, disappearing momentarily and reappearing with Shikamaru, who had been hiding in the shadows. "Here's your fourth member."

Shikamaru sighed. "This is such a drag. I don't even know Sasuke that well. Why do I have to go?"

"Because Kakashi-sensei said so," Sakura replied firmly.

With a well-rounded team of Kirito for combat and tracking, Shikamaru for strategy, and Naruto and Sakura for support, Kakashi felt confident. "Alright, you're ready. Now go! Kirito, make sure to take care of them."

"Got it," Kirito replied.

As the team prepared to leave, Kirito created a shadow clone.

"A shadow clone? Why now?" Sakura asked.

"He's going to retrieve my pet. If I get too far, Little Leopard might go berserk," Kirito explained to his clone. "You know what to do."

The shadow clone nodded. "No need to remind me."

Kakashi ignored their banter and turned to the group. "Shikamaru is the team leader. Your goal is to catch up with Sasuke and assist him. Now, move out!"

The group leaped through a hole in the wall, vanishing into the forest.

As they traveled through the village, Naruto and the others noticed the widespread destruction. Ninjas were fighting in every corner, and kunai and shuriken flew through the air.

"Kirito, how far are we from Sasuke?" Shikamaru asked.

"A few kilometers. At our current speed, it'll take about ten minutes unless they stop moving."

"Damn it, we need to hurry!" Naruto exclaimed, picking up his pace.

As they moved forward, Kirito suddenly signaled for the group to halt.

"What's wrong? Did you find Sasuke?" Naruto asked eagerly.

"No," Kirito replied. "There are pursuers—twenty behind us, sixteen ahead, and four closing in from the rear. They're Sound ninjas."

"That's nearly forty enemies! If they catch up, we're doomed," Shikamaru said, frowning.

"Should we set up an ambush or try to lose them?" Sakura suggested, nervous.

Kirito shook his head. "There's no point in running. It's better to deal with them here."

"Direct confrontation, huh?" Naruto grinned. "Let's do it!"

Kirito positioned himself at the front while the others formed a defensive triangle behind him, ready for any sneak attacks.

As the pursuers closed in, Kirito gathered chakra and exhaled forcefully:

"Ice Release: Blizzard Snowstorm!"

A raging blizzard swept through the forest, freezing everything in its path. Trees, grass, and even the ground were coated in a thick layer of frost. The lead Sound ninja didn't stand a chance—he was frozen solid and shattered upon hitting the ground.

The remaining ninjas scrambled to avoid the frost, but the storm's range was immense. Only a few managed to survive by using Fire Release techniques to counter the cold.

Once the storm subsided, only five of the sixteen enemies remained.

"Here they come," Kirito announced calmly as the survivors emerged from the frost.

"Be careful of that white-haired brat!" one of the ninjas shouted, directing the others to attack from a distance.

Kirito didn't wait. He dashed toward the leader and punched him with enough force to shatter his upper body into ice fragments.

Meanwhile, one of the Sound ninjas tried to sneak up on Sakura. Just as he was about to strike, his body froze in place.

"What?!" the ninja exclaimed, unable to move.

"Gotcha," Shikamaru said, his hands forming seals. "You went for the bait."

Naruto took the opportunity to knock the immobilized ninja out with a punch.

"Naruto, be more careful!" Shikamaru scolded. "You almost hit me, too!"

"Sorry!" Naruto apologized sheepishly.

After dispatching the remaining enemies, Kirito returned to the group.

"All clear," he said.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"Alright, let's keep moving!" Naruto said, eager to catch up with Sasuke.

As they continued, distant explosions echoed through the forest.

"What's happening?" Sakura asked, alarmed.

"Sasuke's engaged with Sand ninjas, but he's fine," Kirito reassured her.

"That guy won't go down easily," Naruto said confidently.

"Still, we need to hurry," Shikamaru added. "The deeper he goes, the greater the risks we'll face."

With renewed determination, the team quickened their pace, ready to face whatever awaited them.
