Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: New Master, New Task

Kirito stood silently outside the Hokage's office, his white eyes faintly detecting the chaotic and unsettling chakra within. It emanated from Danzo, whose presence Kirito had once deeply feared.

When Kirito first arrived in this world, even with his powerful body, he was cautious. His knowledge of the original plot allowed him to steer clear of potential threats, and Danzo was at the top of that list. But after living more than a decade in the ninja world and gaining a deeper understanding of its power dynamics, Kirito no longer felt the need to hide. Danzo, once a source of dread, was now just another figure in the shadows.

Danzo's chakra is still as chaotic as ever, Kirito noted. He's struggling to adapt to Hashirama's cells and the Sharingan.

The door to the Hokage's office creaked open, and Danzo emerged. He leaned on his cane, his right arm concealed beneath a heavy black robe, and bandages obscuring much of his face.

For the first time, Danzo and Kirito observed each other at close range.

Danzo studied Kirito's unusual appearance: silver-white hair, striking white eyes, and a refined, almost otherworldly demeanor. "No matter how you look at it," Danzo thought grimly, "he's not one of us. Allowing someone like him to wield Wood Release is a danger to Konoha."

Kirito, uninterested in the man's scrutiny, stepped past him and entered the office.

Inside, Tsunade was seated behind her desk, her expression a mix of irritation and authority.

"You're late," she said curtly.

"I didn't know there was a time limit," Kirito replied evenly.

Tsunade sighed, motioning for him to approach. "I called you here to confirm something," she began. "Do you truly possess both Wood Release and Lava Release?"

"Yes," Kirito answered simply. He extended his hands, one glowing with molten lava and emitting black smoke, the other sprouting a small, vibrant branch. Simultaneously, his body shimmered with frost as ice crystals formed on his skin, radiating cold.

Tsunade observed the display intently, her earlier doubts fading. She was now certain—Kirito wasn't just talented, he was extraordinary. The ease with which he wielded multiple advanced Bloodline Limits was nothing short of remarkable.

"Impressive," she admitted.

Shizune, standing nearby, seemed equally awed, her eyes widening at the effortless demonstration.

Tsunade leaned back in her chair. "You've already proven your capabilities. Now, about what I asked earlier—have you decided?"

"I would like to become your apprentice," Kirito said without hesitation.

Tsunade's lips curved into a satisfied smile.

Guy, Kirito's mentor, had encouraged him to take this step. Guy had admitted that Kirito's skills had already surpassed what he could teach, and he believed Tsunade could guide him to even greater heights.

"Great," Tsunade said, standing. "From today forward, you are my student. Be prepared for rigorous training—I'll start with advanced medical ninjutsu and chakra control techniques."

"Understood, Master."

After discussing a schedule, they agreed that Kirito would train under Tsunade whenever both their responsibilities allowed. Tsunade would assign independent study tasks during her busier times, and Kirito would approach her with any questions.

"Here," Shizune said, handing Kirito a thick book. "This is your first assignment: study the principles of cellular activation. Tsunade-sama believes you can refine your natural talent in this area."

Kirito opened the book, flipping through its pages. It was filled not with explanations but with experimental notes and data. He glanced at Tsunade questioningly.

"You'll need to develop your own methods," Tsunade explained. "Every ninja's understanding of these principles is unique. Use the notes as a foundation, but your progress will depend on your personal interpretation and innovation."

"Understood," Kirito said, accepting the challenge.

With no further business, Kirito left the office, leaving Tsunade and Shizune alone.

"Tsunade-sama," Shizune began cautiously, "didn't you want to ask him about his past?"

Tsunade waved her off. "No rush. Now that he's my student, I'll have plenty of opportunities to learn more. Pushing too hard now might make him suspicious."

Shizune nodded, though her concern lingered.

"And as for Danzo," Tsunade muttered darkly, recalling their earlier confrontation, "I won't let him interfere. His organization is more trouble than it's worth."

The next morning, Team Guy finally reunited.

"Yes! My youth is burning once more!" Rock Lee shouted enthusiastically, bounding into the training ground.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Tenten asked, eyeing his left hand and foot nervously. "You've only been out of the hospital for a day."

"I'm fine!" Lee declared, flashing a thumbs-up.

"If anything happens, I'll patch him up," Kirito said nonchalantly, balancing a book on Little Leopard's back as he read.

"Fine," Tenten sighed.

"My beloved students!" Might Guy exclaimed, appearing with tears streaming down his face. He pulled them all into a bone-crushing hug. "We're finally together again!"

"Sensei!" Lee cried, equally emotional.

"Today, let's take on a mission with all the passion of youth!" Guy announced.

"Yes, Sensei!"

At the mission assignment desk, Tsunade greeted Team Guy with a scroll.

"Guy, perfect timing," she said. "I've got a mission that's right for you. It was originally a request for Team Kakashi, but since Naruto is away with Jiraiya and Kakashi is on another mission, it's yours now."

"A request for Kakashi?" Guy asked, his competitive spirit flaring.

Tsunade nodded. "It's a named commission involving the Land of Snow."

"Kakashi? Snow Country?" Guy read the scroll and clenched his fists. His eyes burned with determination.

"Don't worry, Tsunade-sama," he declared. "We'll handle this mission better than Kakashi ever could!"

"Great," Tsunade said, rolling her eyes slightly but smiling nonetheless. "Good luck."

"Let's go, Team Guy!" Guy roared, leading his students toward their next adventure.

"Yes, Sensei!" they replied in unison, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them in the Land of Snow.
