Naruto: Wooing Tsunade from Day One!

Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Blooming on Three Sides

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

Supplies had finally arrived, and the war was about to begin. That night, Tsunade called a meeting with the key personnel.

Following Kawakaze's arrangements, tasks were assigned:

Sakumo would lead the attack on the Suna ninja's central line.

Duy would command the right flank.

Tsunade herself, with Kawakaze assisting, would lead the left flank—the ultimate objective of this mission.

Once orders were given, the Konoha camp divided into three parts. Strictly speaking, there was a fourth group: Shinku Yūhi, who remained behind with some troops.

The next morning, the forces assembled.

"Set off. Act on the signal," Tsunade ordered.

The Konoha ninja left the camp, splitting into three groups as they advanced toward the Land of Wind.

There would be no surprise attack. The Suna ninja were always quick to eliminate spies, ensuring that news of their movements would inevitably reach Chiyo. A large-scale offensive could not be hidden.

Inside the Suna defensive line:

"Lady Chiyo, the Konoha forces are here," a Suna ninja reported hurriedly, still panting.

"Let's welcome the enemy," Chiyo replied, stepping out of her tent. The Suna forces moved swiftly, preparing their three lines of defense.

During the march, Kawakaze stayed by Tsunade's side while two younger ninjas blended into the main troops, trailing behind.

"How should we fight?" Kawakaze asked.

"Wait for Sakumo's signal flare before firing. I'm not sure who's defending this side," Tsunade replied, her gaze fixed on the enemy.

The Hyūga among them had already activated their Byakugan, spotting the Suna forces behind the defensive line.

At that moment, Sakumo had led his troops to within 100 meters of the Suna ninja's defenses.

"Use Ninjutsu to clear the way! Charge with me!"

Sakumo took the lead, drawing his short blade and charging forward. The Konoha ninja behind him began to perform complex Ninjutsu.

Earth Dragon Bullet, Water Dragon Bullet Technique

Dozens, even hundreds, of giant dragon heads surged toward the Suna ninja's defensive line.

Chiyo stood calmly at the forefront of the defense, unfazed and familiar with Konoha's tactics.

"Earth Release Defense! Explosive Tags thrown!"

The Suna ninja skilled in Earth Release worked together, erecting a massive, heavy barrier to block the incoming Ninjutsu. From behind the Earth Release wall, countless kunai attached to Explosive Tags were hurled toward the Konoha forces.

From a distance, it looked as if the sky itself was raining black. For a moment, explosions echoed across the battlefield. However, the Konoha ninja were no pushovers. This opening clash was more noise than threat—prepared as they were, it was little more than a nuisance. Those who got hurt were simply unlucky.

In the blink of an eye, the distance between the two sides closed rapidly, and the Suna ninja charged out of their defensive line. The chaotic battle between the two sides officially began.

"Kenjutsu, Thunder Dragon."

Sakumo's killing power, though not at its peak without the Eight Inner Gates activated, was still far beyond what a lowly shinobi could withstand.

A large group of Suna ninja were knocked aside. Those struck directly were killed instantly, while those caught in the shockwave were left paralyzed. The Konoha ninja following behind Sakumo swept in, harvesting the fallen one by one.

"Sakumo Hatake."

Chiyo spotted Sakumo at a glance, gritted her teeth, and unrolled a scroll, summoning the remaining four puppets from The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets. Together with six hastily crafted ordinary puppets, she formed a total of ten.

With her fingers flying, she directed them all toward Sakumo.

"Chiyo?"

Sakumo's strike was blocked by one of Chiyo's puppets, and only then did he notice the pair of fiery eyes glaring at him from not far away.

"Today, you will pay for my child's death," Chiyo roared. The ten puppets lunged forward in unison, all focused on attacking, leaving no defense behind.

"You're blinded by rage," Sakumo sneered. "I think I'll be the one to reunite you with your family."

The Chikamatsu puppets, lacking their full power, still dared to challenge him. Sakumo engaged Chiyo head-on, their battle erupting as the Konoha and Suna ninja clashed across the battlefield. Soon, the ground was pitted, scarred, and stained with blood.

On the left and right flanks, Duy and Kawakaze launched simultaneous attacks as signal flares burst in the sky.

Duy immediately activated the Sixth Gate of the Eight Inner Gates. Green chakra wrapped his body, his face darkened with rushing blood, and his pupils turned white.

"Morning Peacock!"

Da-da-da~

Duy charged into the Suna ninja ranks, his fists lashing out like a god of fire. Flames erupted as his strikes hit. No Suna ninja survived; the moisture in their bodies evaporated instantly from the heat. They fell as dried husks, shattering upon impact with the ground.

Soon, the area around Duy became an uninhabited zone. No Suna ninja dared approach the man in green tights. But his dazzling figure quickly drew Ebizō's attention.

"Let's go," Ebizō said through gritted teeth, leading nine elite Jōnin to surround Duy. He also commanded nine puppets, slightly inferior to Chiyo's. Each puppet bore a large "seal" character on its forehead.

The puppets scattered around Duy, scrolls emerging from their mouths.

"Ninja Art: Nine Puppet Sealing Technique!"

Ebizō formed a hand seal, and the chakra from the nine puppets converged, creating a massive transparent barrier.

Duy frowned. A heavy green strike collided with the barrier, ripples spreading from the impact, but the enchantment held firm.

"You just wait and die inside the barrier."

Ebizō maintained his hand seal, as this Fūinjutsu technique required a constant output of chakra.

Inside the barrier, the nine Suna ninjas began to encircle Duy. They split into three teams: one to defend, one to attack, and one to disrupt Duy's rhythm. Although Duy avoided injury with his incredible speed, breaking free from the formation proved difficult.

Ebizō's mouth curled into a smile. He had finally managed to contain Konoha's Might Duy.

Meanwhile, the battle on the right flank was grinding to a stalemate, with neither side gaining a decisive advantage. War, like a relentless meat grinder, continued to claim lives every moment. The outcome of the left flank now became particularly critical for Konoha.

Kawakaze and Tsunade summoned portions of Lady Katsuyu, allowing the Slug to heal and sustain Konoha's forces. The two then charged to the frontlines.

Kawakaze wielded a sharp blade, lightning crackling around him. Wherever the lightning flashed, Suna ninjas fell in droves, unable to resist.

Tsunade's fists glowed with chakra as she leapt high into the air, smashing into the center of the Suna ranks. With her fists as the point of impact, the ground caved into a circular pit, sending Suna ninjas flying like ragdolls.

The two exuded an unshakable aura, radiating courage and determination like two dragons plunging into the sea.

The Suna ninjas, seeing the pair as prime targets, launched a flurry of Ninjutsu, kunai, and explosive tags. Kawakaze and Tsunade exchanged a quick glance but said nothing. Together, they effortlessly deflected the incoming attacks and plunged back into the chaotic ranks.

"Find an opportunity and hit hard," Kawakaze shouted, red seals appearing around his eyes. His intent was clear: to stop the encroaching Suna Jōnin single-handedly.

"Got it," Tsunade replied, understanding his plan immediately. The two had achieved their goal of breaking the enemy ranks. Without hesitation, Tsunade turned and headed for an open area.

Now she needed to locate a high vantage point with a clear view of the battlefield.
