Naruto: You Call This A Medical Ninja?

Chapter 423: Chapter 423: Otsutsuki’s Past

Ishiki waved his hand, opening a crack in space before disappearing from sight.

A sinister laugh echoed in the darkness.

"Heh heh..."

Kabu grinned, baring his white teeth. The smile on his face was hauntingly unsettling.

"Time to get to work! Target: the controller of White Zetsu and Konoha's medical ninja Reiki!"

As Kabu spoke, the bandages wrapped around his body began to flutter ominously. In the blink of an eye, he vanished into the shadows, leaving behind an aura of malevolence.

Pairs of scarlet eyes glowed in the darkness, radiating a violent and chaotic energy...

Meanwhile, Reiki had arrived in Uchiha Madara's quarters.

"Why are you here? To explain why you've been conspiring with Black Zetsu?" Madara began, his tone accusatory.

"Madara-sama, can you contact Otsutsuki Hagoromo?" Reiki interrupted, cutting straight to the point.

"What?" Madara was taken aback. He had expected excuses, perhaps some denial, but not this.

"Otsutsuki Hagoromo. The man who granted you your eyes, Madara-sama. I want to see him." Reiki's tone was firm, his intentions clear.

"Him? Do you really think I have the means to summon him?" Madara replied, almost amused. "Sorry to disappoint you."

"Can't you?" Reiki asked, his voice tinged with frustration.

"Ah," Madara sighed. "He appeared to me once, right when I was executing my plan. It was during that time I transferred my eyes to Nagato to ensure their survival. He came to oversee the process, ensuring the fit and preventing rejection."

Madara began recounting his encounter with Otsutsuki Hagoromo. He explained how the Sage of Six Paths had bestowed upon him a pair of Rinnegan eyes, crafted using Yin-Yang Release.

"Wait!" Reiki interrupted, his eyes narrowing. "You said he created these eyes and didn't give you his own, right?"

"Yes," Madara replied. "His eyes are... different from mine."

Madara activated his Rinnegan, the unique patterns glimmering ominously. Reiki scrutinized them carefully. Indeed, these eyes were different from those described in ancient records of Hagoromo.

"If that's true..." Reiki muttered.

Before he could finish, Madara's Rinnegan began to pulse uncontrollably.

"What's happening?" Madara growled. "My eyes are acting on their own—no doubt his doing!"

In a decisive move, Madara clawed at his face, yanking the eyes from their sockets and hurling them into the air.

The two Rinnegan hovered momentarily before a spatial vortex formed between them.

"It's a passage," Madara said, his voice eerily calm. "It seems he wants to see you as well."

Reiki nodded. "Madara-sama, I'll go and see what this is about. I'll return to treat you afterward." Without hesitation, he stepped into the vortex.

After a moment of disorienting travel, Reiki found himself in a dark, vast space. At its center, a faint light illuminated a solitary figure seated in meditative stillness.

"Otsutsuki Hagoromo?" Reiki called out.

The figure stirred, opening his eyes. "You sought me out?"

"Yes," Reiki began. "When you sealed your mother, you must have known the location of the Otsutsuki clan, correct?"

Hagoromo's eyes twinkled with curiosity. "It seems you've uncovered some intriguing truths. And the path you've chosen... it's even bolder than mine."

The Sage continued, "Yes, I knew of the Otsutsuki clan's existence. My mother permitted her own sealing to prevent them from gaining a foothold here."

Reiki nodded, piecing together the implications. "Then the battle... was it meant to send a message to them?"

Hagoromo sighed. "Indeed. It was a show of strength, a deterrent. Only by doing so could I delay them from transmitting this world's coordinates to the Otsutsuki clan. Black Zetsu's existence was also part of this strategy—to confuse Otsutsuki Ishiki."

"Ishiki?" Reiki feigned ignorance.

"Yes," Hagoromo confirmed. "He came to this world with my mother. Initially, they were to sacrifice portions of their essence to cultivate the Chakra Fruit from the Sacred Tree. However, Ishiki's ambition led to conflict. After suffering a severe injury, he sought to take all of my mother's essence for himself. That betrayal led to their battle."

Hagoromo delved into the history of Otsutsuki Ishiki and Kaguya. He revealed that Kaguya's rebellion wasn't born of treachery alone; it was a desperate act of self-preservation.

Reiki's mind raced as he absorbed the revelations.

"So... unsealing Kaguya doesn't only require reviving the Sacred Tree, does it?" he asked.

Hagoromo smiled faintly. "You're correct. The seal's key lies within my bloodline and the Tailed Beasts I created."

"The Tailed Beasts and your descendants…" Reiki murmured, realization dawning. "That's why their chakra carries the key to her freedom."

Hagoromo nodded, his gaze steady. "It seems you understand now."

Reiki clenched his fists. The pieces of the puzzle were falling into place, but the stakes had grown exponentially higher.
