Chapter 449: Chapter 449: Hanzo Has a Seizure – Yahiko’s Decision
At this moment, all the Amegakure shinobi were kneeling on one knee in front of the man who was known as a demigod—Sanshou Hanzo.
However, Hanzo's face was anything but calm. His usual imposing presence was overshadowed by anger and frustration. As a member of the alliance with Konoha, Hanzo had not received an invitation to the meeting of the Five Kage. This slight was an insult to him, and he could not let it go unchallenged.
In Hanzo's eyes, Konoha's disregard for Amegakure was a sign of their arrogance. He would not accept being looked down upon by a village he deemed inferior.
"Lord Hanzo!" Yahiko burst into the room, his face covered in sweat, clearly having rushed over as soon as he learned of the situation.
"Yahiko?" Hanzo's voice softened slightly upon seeing the young man enter. "You came just in time. Let me inform you of our next move for Amegakure. We will oppose Konoha directly. I'll destroy the so-called Ninja Alliance myself!"
Hanzo's face twisted with anger. He was resolute in his decision to challenge the alliance.
Yahiko looked at Hanzo, baffled. Was the man really going to act this recklessly?
"Destroy the Ninja Alliance?" Yahiko asked in disbelief. "Master Hanzo, you can't even stand against Konoha itself, let alone destroy the alliance."
Yahiko's frustration grew. Hanzo's actions showed a complete disregard for the reality of the current situation. Yahiko had agreed to merge the Akatsuki organization into Amegakure's forces because of the alliance with Konoha. With Konoha's support, Yahiko believed that his vision for a peaceful world could be achieved. The entire ninja world was on the brink of peace, and a united alliance seemed to be the dawn of a new era.
But Hanzo was blind to all of this.
"Master Hanzo, we need to reconsider!" Yahiko implored. "The current Ninja Alliance and Konoha are not something we can face head-on."
"Are you questioning my decision?" Hanzo snapped, cutting Yahiko off.
Yahiko fell silent for a moment, but Hanzo's words left him no room to speak. Hanzo's mind was made up, and Yahiko understood that his role now was to carry out the order, no matter how reckless it seemed.
Hanzo continued, his voice dripping with authority. "Your Akatsuki will be the vanguard. Your task is to intercept the geniuses from each village and send them to the alliance's special training camp. Treat them as hostages. That will make Konoha regret their disrespect."
Without waiting for Yahiko's reply, Hanzo thrust a scroll into his hands, dismissing him with a wave of his hand. Yahiko walked out of the room in a daze, his mind racing with conflicting thoughts.
When Yahiko finally returned home, Konan noticed his troubled expression and immediately grew concerned. Yahiko had been silent for half an hour, and she could tell something was wrong.
"Yahiko, what happened?" Konan asked, her voice filled with worry.
Yahiko didn't answer immediately, but when he did, he handed the scroll to Konan and Nagato. As they read the contents, their expressions darkened.
"Yahiko, did you agree to this?" Nagato asked, his voice filled with anger.
Konan's eyes widened in disbelief. "That gentle Yahiko shouldn't take on such a mission."
Yahiko sighed heavily, his face troubled. "No, I didn't agree. But if we don't do this, someone else will. And if that happens, the Kingdom of Rain might fall into chaos because of Hanzo's decision."
He paused for a moment, conflicted. "I have no choice. I'm trying to think of a way to stop this, but right now, there's nothing I can do."
As Konoha's influence and power grew stronger, Hanzo began to change. Originally, he had seen the alliance with Konoha as a means to elevate his own status. As Konoha became more powerful, Hanzo's jealousy and frustration grew. Konoha's increasing support for the Kingdom of Rain only fueled his resentment.
Yahiko didn't fully understand Hanzo's motives, but one thing was clear: Hanzo no longer saw Konoha as an ally. He wanted to oppose them, and that meant disrupting the peace and unity the ninja world was slowly moving toward.
Yahiko couldn't allow this to happen. He needed to stop Hanzo, no matter the cost.
"Stop him!" Nagato said urgently.
"Stop him?" Yahiko shook his head. "Nagato, you know it's impossible to stop him with just words. If Hanzo were rational, he wouldn't make such a reckless decision."
Yahiko's expression grew desperate. The Akatsuki organization had now become enemies of Amegakure. He could no longer think of a peaceful way to prevent Hanzo's plans.
"Contact Konoha," Konan suggested. "We'll pretend to agree to Hanzo's plan. At least we can't let the Kingdom of Rain descend into chaos."
Yahiko nodded slowly. "We'll contact everyone in the Akatsuki and assign tasks. But we can't let Hanzo drag the Kingdom of Rain into destruction."
Konan hesitated. "It might be dangerous, Yahiko. I think we should inform Konoha first."
Yahiko placed a hand on Konan's shoulder, silencing her. "I've always hated relying on others. This time, we will take matters into our own hands. We won't let Hanzo destroy what we've been working for."
Konan gave him a soft, understanding smile and embraced him. "Be careful, Yahiko."
As Yahiko made his decision, a part of him realized just how dangerous this path would be. He had always believed in the ideals of peace and unity, but now he was forced to fight against his own village's leader to protect that vision.
Time was running out, and Yahiko knew he had to act quickly before Hanzo's actions tore apart the fragile peace that had begun to form across the ninja world.
