NBA : Formidable Center

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Atmosphere Builds at the Superdome

**

Two days later, game day finally arrived.

### Pre-Match Press Conference

"Coach Roy, how confident are you in securing victory in today's championship game? Do you have any comments on your opponents, the North Carolina Wolfpack?"

"And what about the rumors that the Kansas Jayhawks' starting five have already been scouted by NBA teams? Is that true?"

"Lastly, do you have anything to say to Coach Herb Sendek before the match begins?"

---

Kansas Jayhawks' head coach, Roy Williams, faced the barrage of questions with a composed demeanor. His tone was measured, betraying neither excitement nor anxiety as he responded to the relentless media queries.

"Regarding the championship, I believe in letting nature take its course. What I can assure you is that the Jayhawks, including myself, are fully prepared. We'll give 100% on the court—that's the Jayhawk way."

"As for player draft prospects, I can't disclose specifics, but I can say this: Kansas is known for producing top-tier talent. Over my 15 years as head coach, this has always been the case."

"Regarding our opponents, the Wolfpack, they are a tenacious team. To make it from the ninth seed to this point is nothing short of remarkable. I hope, regardless of the result, you all can show them some respect after the game."

Roy Williams' confidence was evident—grounded in his years of leading one of NCAA's most elite programs. Since taking over the Jayhawks, he had never missed a tournament, and his pride in both his coaching and players was palpable.

---

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, North Carolina Wolfpack's coach Herb Sendek adopted a much more relaxed and candid approach.

Having led the underdog Wolfpack to their best-ever finish, Coach Sendek was already satisfied. Unlike the Jayhawks' history of dominance, the Wolfpack had never been serious contenders before this season. Sendek had come into the tournament with a "win-what-we-can" mindset and had far exceeded expectations.

Now, he cheerfully recounted his team's journey, turning the press conference into an inspiring tale of grassroots success. Naturally, this resonated with the media—after all, who doesn't love an underdog story?

### Back in China: NewFox Sports Live Stream

Over at the NewFox Sports live stream, Bai Yang struggled to keep his nerves in check.

Despite his prior experience commentating for smaller crowds during the tournament, today's viewership had shattered all expectations. With tens of thousands of fans tuning in to watch the NCAA Finals, even the platform's servers were struggling to keep up.

"Welcome to all the new viewers joining us today!" Bai Yang began, trying to hide his jitters. "We're live for the NCAA Championship game, where the Kansas Jayhawks will take on the North Carolina Wolfpack. Expect nothing less than a clash of titans!"

Having learned from previous streams, Bai Yang knew the key to success was engaging with the audience. He wasted no time stirring up excitement for the Wolfpack and their star player, Wang Song.

"This is truly a Cinderella story: the No. 1 seed Jayhawks facing the No. 9 seed Wolfpack. Can the underdog pull off one last upset?"

---

**Viewer Comments:**

- *"Streamer, stop jinxing them! My money's on the Wolfpack!"*

- *"I missed the early betting rounds! If I had backed Wang Song earlier, I'd be rich by now!"*

- *"Kansas is stacked. All their starters are projected first-round NBA picks. Can Wang Song carry his team alone?"*

- *"Good news: we have Wang Song. Bad news: we ONLY have Wang Song!"*

Bai Yang chuckled at the flood of comments but quickly refocused as the players took to the court.

### At the Superdome: A Grand Stage

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome was electric, packed to the brim with fans. The arena buzzed with energy, and the sheer scale of the crowd resembled that of a European football stadium.

If tickets weren't limited, Wang Song felt the stadium might have exceeded its official capacity of 100,000.

Adding to the spectacle, today's commentary team featured TNT's Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley—two household names in basketball broadcasting.

"Charles," Kenny began with a grin, "what's your prediction for today's game?"

Barkley, never one to shy away from theatrics, smirked. "Oh, that's easy. Kansas is gonna stomp the Wolfpack. No question about it."

His bold declaration drew laughter, even as Kenny shook his head.

"Classic Charles," Kenny quipped. "But don't forget, this Wolfpack team has defied all odds. Wang Song is a force to be reckoned with."

Barkley shrugged, unbothered. "We'll see. But I'm sticking with Kansas."

Banter aside, the stage was set. The players were warming up, the crowd was roaring, and the atmosphere was electric. It was time for the ultimate showdown.
