NBA Skills: Dominating Kuroko no Basket

Chapter 90: Taking Control

"Focus! Don't give them any openings!" Davis roared furiously. The points they had just given up were enough to drive him mad with frustration.

His teammates all nodded in agreement, their expressions serious. Everyone brought their A-game, determined not to let their guard down even for a moment.

Their eyes were sharp and alert, scanning the court like hawks, wary of Kuroko's unpredictable movements that could strike from any angle.

Faced with the opponent's 2-3 zone defense, the American moved with caution. After all, with Kuroko lurking like a phantom, they had to tread carefully.

After a series of quick passes, the ball found its way to Russell. Standing two steps beyond the three-point line, he rose confidently for a jump shot.

But at the moment he released the ball, Kuroko materialized beside him, like a ghost in the shadows, and with a deft flick of his hand, tipped the ball away.

Russell, however, showed why he was one of the top high school players in the U.S. Reacting instantly, he secured the ball tightly to his chest, denying Kuroko the steal.

Without hesitation, he lobbed the ball into the post to Davis.

Catching the pass, Davis threw his weight into Murasakibara, pushing him back a step. But Murasakibara held his ground, digging in to resist Davis' powerful frame.

Prepared for the collision, Murasakibara steadied himself again, ready to counter Davis' next move.

Feigning a drive into Murasakibara, Davis pivoted sharply to his left and went for a hook shot. Murasakibara leaped to block, but Davis faked the move with precision, sending Murasakibara flying off-balance. Planting his pivot foot, Davis spun back around and slammed the ball through the hoop with authority.

Murasakibara could only watch, powerless to stop the display of strength and skill.

With physical gifts on par with Murasakibara and superior strength and technique, Davis had solidified his dominance. The score now stood at 39:23, as Davis maintained his team's lead.

Next, Teiko launched their counterattack.

Akashi dribbled up the court, his expression darker than ever. The weight of his inability to perform at full strength loomed over him.

Schröder, his counterpart, was an insurmountable wall, applying relentless pressure that stifled Akashi's every move.

Deprived of scoring options, Akashi focused on playmaking, seeking to empower his teammates through his passing — his only viable contribution at the moment.

Teiko initiated a set play, moving with synchronicity to crack the opponent's defense.

Spotting an opening, Akashi delivered the ball to Kuroko, whose misdirection pass landed perfectly in Shiro's hands, leaving spectators in awe.

Shiro, calm and composed, caught the pass, but Wiggins was already locked onto him, refusing to give an inch.

Shiro entered a triple-threat stance, lowering his center of gravity, knees bent, eyes fixed on Wiggins. With a quick jab step, he tested his opponent's reactions, but Wiggins stayed firm.

Then, with a sudden lift of his shoulders and a shooting motion, Shiro faked a jump shot. Wiggins raised his center of gravity slightly, preparing to contest the shot, but kept his feet grounded, relying on his length to disrupt the play.

Seizing the moment, Shiro exploded past Wiggins with a sharp drive, cutting through the defense with startling speed. Wiggins gave chase, but Shiro unleashed an Iverson: Crossover, shaking off the defender to create more space.

Shiro followed up with Harden: Double Step-Back, pulling away from Wiggins with ghostlike agility.

Now beyond the arc, Shiro squared up and launched a Curry: 3-Point Shooting.

The ball traced a perfect arc and swished cleanly through the net.

"Swish!"

The score closed to 39:26, as Shiro trimmed the deficit once more.

"Man, Shiro is incredible!" Aomine muttered from the bench, his eyes fixed on the court. "I couldn't score on Wiggins that easily."

Meanwhile, Wiggins cursed under his breath. "Damn it!" He replayed the sequence in his mind, knowing he had been sold by Shiro's flawless fakes.

The Americans resumed their offense. LaVine took the inbound pass from Schröder and immediately broke past Kise with a swift dribble move.

"Uh-oh!" Kise thought as LaVine streaked by, leaving him in the dust. Though Kise tried to recover, LaVine's speed was on another level.

With a commanding lead, LaVine pulled up for a transition three. But just as he released the shot, Shiro materialized out of nowhere, his presence radiating an almost predatory aura.

The atmosphere grew tense, as though a wild beast had entered the fray.

In one swift motion, Shiro swatted the ball out of the air with authority, leaving LaVine frozen in shock.

The crowd stared in stunned disbelief. Shiro's ferocity had taken over, his presence on the court now primal and overwhelming.

Shiro had gone into Animal Instinct!
