Chapter 90: Lost in the Void: Yhwach faces Gojo's Domain Expansion
Gojo: Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void (Ryōiki Tenkai: Muryōkūsho)
( Picture )
Yhwach struggled to maintain his composure as the weight of the domain bore down upon him. He felt himself being pulled into a state of complete trance
It was almost as if an infinite amount of information was being shoved down his brain—causing him to be unable to move.
( Picture )
Yhwach: (In thought) What is this? I can't move an inch. It's like my body is frozen, yet my mind remains active.
Gojo: Ironic...isn't it? Once given everything, you can't do anything, but die a slow death.
The sorcerer said.
As Gojo's fist hurtled towards him within the confines of the Unlimited Void, Suddenly Yhwach's body moved as his movements were precise and calculated, yet also lacking in thought... Every muscle, every sinew, acted in perfect harmony, his reflexes operating on pure instinct as if he was anticipating every move.
Gojo: (In disbelief) Impossible... How is he moving...
With a flicker of realization, Gojo released the Unlimited Void, the oppressive atmosphere dissipating like mist in the wind. As the boundary of the domain collapsed, he turned to Yhwach with a mixture of curiosity and bewilderment.
Gojo: How... how are you moving like that?
Yhwach, momentarily released from the oppressive grasp of the Unlimited Void, stood before Gojo with a sense of bafflement and uncertainty swirling within him. he found himself at a loss for an explanation.
Yhwach: (Pausing for a moment, his expression contemplative) I... I do not know.
As Yhwach stood before Gojo, grappling with the perplexing events that had just transpired, he sought clarity from his trusted allies, Ginjo and Zaegar, through their mental link.
Yhwach: (Mental Link) Ginjo, Zaegar, do either of you have any insight into what just transpired?
Ginjo's response echoed back, tinged with uncertainty.
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind) Sorry, Yhwach. I'm just as clueless as you are. Whatever happened in there, it's beyond my understanding.
Yhwach's brows furrowed in frustration at the lack of clarity. However, before he could dwell further on the matter, Zaegar's voice interjected, carrying with it a sense of knowing amusement.
Zaegar: (Mental Link) Ah, Yhwach, big man, do you recall the lesson I imparted upon you not too long ago? about INSTINCT?
The mention of the lesson stirred a memory within Yhwach's mind, a faint recollection of their previous conversation amidst the vast expanse of darkness.
Yhwach: (Mental Link) Yes, Zaegar. You spoke of the distinction between a king and his horse, of purpose and will.
( Flashback - The Dark Void )
Zaegar: Yhwach. What's the difference between a king and his horse? If their form, ability, and power are exactly the same, why is it that one becomes the king and leads them into battle, while the other becomes the horse and carries the king? So what's the characteristic that distinguishes these two beings?
Yhwach looked up at Zaegar, pondering the question. The dark void seemed to echo with the weight of the inquiry.
Yhwach: The difference lies in their purpose. The king commands, decides the direction, and holds the responsibility for the entire entity, while the horse serves, follows, and bears the burden of the king's will.
Zaegar nodded in acknowledgment, a faint smile playing on his colossal face.
Zaegar: Exactly. And as you traverse the path of a king, you must understand that your power, and your abilities, are not just tools for destruction. They are means to an end, a purpose greater than mere conquest.
Yhwach: What purpose, Zaegar? What end?
Zaegar's eyes gleamed with intensity.
Zaegar: You seek peace, Yhwach. But remember, peace isn't simply the absence of conflict. It's the establishment of a harmonious order, a balance where every being, every existence, finds its place and purpose without oppression or injustice.
Yhwach: Peace... a world without conflict.
Zaegar: Indeed. And to achieve such a lofty goal, you must master the true nature of your abilities. The Schrifts you possess are not just weapons; they are expressions of your will. Voltstanding them is understanding their essence, unlocking their full potential.
Zaegar's words echoed within the vast darkness of Yhwach's inner world. The intensity in his eyes conveyed the weight of his message.
Zaegar: If I posed that question to myself, Yhwach, my answer would be INSTINCT!
( End of Flashback )
Yhwach: (Mental Link) Instinct... Yes, I remember now.
Gojo: (In thought) Huh. How intriguing. Could it be that your lack of cursed energy I wonder?
Gojo sighs.
Gojo: I'm going to be on a trip in two days, and I'm going to need you to watch over the other First-Years for a short period of time while I'm gone.
Gojo said. Yhwach and Zaegar frowned. They didn't like the idea of babysitting.
Zaegar: What the fuck, you albino-haired bitch? Why the fuck do we have to babysit a bunch of bitches? I had to deal with Team CRDL, Team RWBY, every single fucking day! Why the fuck...
Zaegar's grumbling grew louder, his frustration evident as he mumbled incomprehensibly to himself. Gojo, puzzled by Zaegar's outburst, attempted to make sense of the situation and offer a compromise.
Gojo: Zaegar, I don't know who Team CRDL and whatever you're saying. But if you agree to do it, I'll buy you food for the rest of the week.
Zaegar paused, his tiny dragon form looking up at Gojo with wide eyes filled with stars, a glimmer of excitement dancing within them.
Zaegar: For real? Like, for real real?
With a chuckle, Gojo nodded in affirmation, sealing the deal with a promise that sparked newfound enthusiasm in Zaegar's demeanor.
Gojo: For real real.
Gojo glanced over at Yhwach, who seemed lost in thought.
Gojo: And what about you, Yhwach? Can I count on you to watch over the others while I'm away?
But before Gojo could receive a response from Yhwach, Zaegar chimed in, confidently assuring Gojo of Yhwach's compliance.
Zaegar: Don't worry about it, albino. Yhwach's gonna do it. He's just a bit distracted right now, you know, contemplating the mysteries of the universe and all that.
Zaegar's nonchalant tone belied the weight of Yhwach's introspection, but Gojo simply shrugged, trusting in Zaegar's assurance.
Gojo: Alright then, if you say so. Just make sure they behave while I'm away.
Scene Break
Yhwach and Gojo arrive at the abandoned building, Gojo feeling sort of worried about Yuji and Nobara if they manage to complete the mission. They did, and they even managed to save a child too. Gojo smiled. He looked at Megumi, who had his hands crossed the entire time.
Gojo: What's the efficiency, Megumi?
Gojo asked. Megumi shrugged his shoulders.
Megumi: Well, Nobara did pretty well. That cursed technique of hers that you told me, yeah, it was pretty decent.
Megumi replied.
Gojo nodded.
Yuji strolled over to Megumi and Nobara, who were arguing about the plan that she had with Yuji to take out the cursed spirit. Apparently, Megumi saw a better way Nobara could've approached the plan.
Yuji: You guys think Gojo Sensei is acting weird?
Yuji asked. Nobara tilted her head in confusion. Megumi just shrugged.
Megumi: Around Mr. Yhwach and Zaegar...yeah, a little.
Megumi replied. Nobara shook her head.
Nobara: I ain't vibing with that old geezer and his lizard buddy, not one bit. But let me tell you, if they come sniffin' around me, they're gonna get a taste of my hammer.
Nobara finished.
Megumi: Listen, Nobara, picking a fight with Mr. Yhwach ain't a bright idea. Trust me on that.
Megumi warned with a solemn expression.
Nobara: Why's that? What's so special about him? And what kind of cursed technique does he use?
Nobara inquired, her curiosity piqued. Megumi sighed deeply.
Megumi: Well, he's a Special Grade, alright, but here's the kicker - he doesn't rely on any cursed techniques. The guy's got no cursed energy whatsoever. My guess? His strength's on a whole other level. Plus, he's not even from our world. Kinda makes him an enigma, doesn't it?
Megumi explained, scratching his head. Nobara frowned, trying to wrap her head around the idea.
Nobara: I believe everything except the "our world" part. But...how strong–exactly?
She asked.
Megumi: I mean, it says it on his tag, he's Special Grade. He managed to beat Yuji.
Megumi replied. Nobara raised her eyebrows.
Nobara: But we're all still First-Years, and Yuji isn't Special Grade, or top grade, or whatever, so why does that matter?
Megumi: He BEAT Yuji while he was taken over by a Special Grade Curse.
Megumi explained.
Nobara: Ohh...
Nobara finished. Yhwach strolled to them with Zaegar on his shoulder as usual.
Zaegar: Wassup bitches.
Zaegar said casually. Nobara took five steps back. Yuji and Megumi stayed in their positions.
Megumi: Not much.
Megumi replied.
Gojo pitched in the conversation.
Gojo: After we send the kid home, do you guys want to go get something to eat?
Gojo asked, grinning. Nobara stepped in front of Yuji and Megumi.
Nobara: Sushi
She commanded. Yuji felt the urge to voice his opinion.
Yuji: No... Steak!
Yuji said. Gojo gestured to Yhwach.
Gojo: He gets to decide. What's up for grubs, Yhwach?
Gojo asked.
Yhwach glanced at the group before him, considering their requests for food with a thoughtful expression.
Yhwach: Sushi, steak... Hmm, interesting choices. But perhaps we should opt for something more... traditional.
Zaegar, perched comfortably on Yhwach's shoulder, interjected with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Zaegar: Let me decide this one, Yhwach. I've got a craving for something a little different today.
Yhwach nodded in agreement, deferring to Zaegar's choice. However, from within Yhwach's mind, Ginjo's voice echoed with a note of caution.
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind) Yhwach, be careful. Zaegar's got that evil grin again. Who knows what he's got planned this time.
Timeskip - Restaurant
As the group arrived at the restaurant, their expressions turned deadpan as they took in the extravagant setting. Zaegar, seemingly unfazed by their reactions, sauntered up to the chef with an air of confidence.
Zaegar: Hey there, chef! I'll take 101 ramen, please. Oh, and make sure to add some steak, chicken, and a live orca on top, with a mix of tofu combined with 101% alcohol.
The chef blinked in disbelief at Zaegar's outrageous order, but Zaegar remained unperturbed, his tiny dragon form puffing out his chest proudly.
Zaegar: Oh, and don't forget the extra spice! Gotta have that kick, you know?
Yhwach could only sigh at Zaegar's eccentric request, while Ginjo, from within Yhwach's mind, couldn't contain his laughter at the absurdity of it all. He thought Zaegar's last order was absurd, but this one took the cake.
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind, chuckling) Zaegar never fails to amuse, does he? That order is even more absurd than the last one. I wonder if the chef will actually attempt it.
Megumi, Nobara, Yuji, and Gojo exchanged incredulous glances as Zaegar confidently placed his absurd order with the chef. Megumi's eyes widened in disbelief, while Nobara shook her head in utter bewilderment. Yuji's mouth hung open in astonishment, and Gojo couldn't help but chuckle at the sheer audacity of Zaegar's request.
Megumi: Uh, Zaegar... I don't think they serve live orcas here.
Nobara: Yeah, and I'm pretty sure mixing tofu with 101% alcohol is a recipe for disaster.
Yuji scratched his head.
Yuji: I don't even know where to begin...
Gojo, although amused by Zaegar's antics, couldn't help but chuckle at the sheer absurdity of the situation.
Gojo: Well, that's certainly... creative.
However, before anyone could react further, the chef intervened, his patience wearing thin at Zaegar's outlandish request.
Chef: Look, buddy, we don't sell that kind of stuff here. Either order something reasonable or get the fuck out of my restaurant.
It was at this moment the chef knew he fucked up.
Zaegar's eyes narrowed into slits as he glared at the chef, a low growl emanating from his throat. Without warning, he lashed out with his tail, smacking the chef and sending him sprawling onto the ground.
Scene Break - West Tokyo City
Tadashi was sitting down on the chair outside, trying to enjoy his snack. He couldn't stop thinking about the moment that he had run the girl over with his car, instantly killing her.
He knew that he needed to somehow make amends, and there was no way that he was getting out of this detention center early.
He stopped eating his snack and looked up. He saw a weird bubble surrounding what looked like an embryo. Was that thing even human?
He got up just like everyone else. Three people strolled next to him and watched as the embryo began to grow rapidly. It wasn't long before Tadashi felt something pierce his stomach.
Scene Break
Ijichi: You're a Jujutsu Sorcerer, and you don't know the grade levels?
Ijichi said to Yuji.
Yhwach, Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi were standing side by side. They had gotten a mission from Kiyotaka Ijichi, the Jujutsu High School Assistant Manager.
To make matters worse, Zaegar seemed to be turned off by whatever Ijichi was saying. clearly still angry with the chef and FBI.
Yuji paid close attention. So did Nobara.
Megumi—well, half-half.
_______________________________________________________________
Custom Grade ( Zaegar ): Drop dildos from the sky each packing the destructive force of a million Hiroshima bombs.
SPECIAL GRADE: Carpeting explosives such as a cluster bomb might work
GRADE 1 (SEMI GRADE 1): Even a tank might be useless
GRADE 2 (SEMI GRADE 2): Cutting it close with a shotgun
GRADE 3: If you have a handgun, you can rest easy.
GRADE 4: Easy work with a wooden bat especially an old lady with a stick
_______________________________________________________________
Ijichi glanced at Yhwach.
Ijichi You are to NOT engage when met with a Special Grade curse. Your main goal is to help evacuate anyone that's trapped. Any contact with a Special Grade would mean to run or die. But...since one of you is Special Grade, you'll have an option to engage, although it is still not recommended.
Ijichi explained.
Yhwach nodded nonchalantly. Ijichi sighed.
Women: HEY! Is my son okay?! Tadashi! Oh, dear God! Just let me know something! Anything!
The woman pleaded, her face filled with fear. Zaegar tried to pretend to care.
Zaegar: Boo, nobody gives a damn. Run along now, lady, and whip us up some dinner.
Yhwach: (Coldly) Zaegar, enough.
His voice cut through the air with an authority that brooked no argument. Turning towards the distressed woman, Yhwach approached her with a calm demeanor, his expression softening slightly as he addressed her.
Yhwach: Women, I understand your concern for your son. We'll do everything in our power to locate him and ensure his safety. Please, if you could provide us with any information about his whereabouts, it would greatly aid us in our efforts.
Scene Break
Sukuna started talking out of Yuji's hand as they walked down the hallway. He was particularly interested in Zaegar. Furthermore, he wanted a clean rematch.
Sukuna: (Speaking from Yuji's hand) HEY! Lizard! Get over here!
Sukuna demanded.
Yuji tried to shake Sukuna away, but he just popped right back out. Yhwach walked closer to Yuji. with Zaegar on his shoulder.
Zaegar: The fuck do you want bitch?
Zaegar "Politely" asked.
Sukuna: (Speaking from Yuji's hand) A rematch. I can sense one of my fingers in the area. When I consume it, I want a clean rematch! Ha! I'll have three fingers worth of my po—
Zaegar: Shut the fuck up bitch.
Zaegar replied. Sukuna didn't speak for two seconds.
Sukuna: (Speaking from Yuji's hand) What?
Zaegar: I said shut the fuck up bitch. We've got more important things to do than entertain your shitty baby whims. So quit fucking yapping, or I'll make sure you regret it. you bitch.
Zaegar's words carried a warning, his eyes gleaming with a hint of danger.
Sukuna: (Speaking from Yuji's hand) Mark my words Lizard. You'll pay for speaking to me like that.
Sukuna said, finally disappearing.
Zaegar: Finally he stopped yapping.
Zaegar sighed although Yuji looked bewildered.
Yuji: Why is it almost night?
He asked. Megumi sighed.
Megumi: It's called a curtain. Since we're near a residential area, it hides us from the outside.
Megumi explained. Yuji nodded.
Megumi summoned one of his shikigami: the Jade Hounds.
Zaegar: What da dog doin.
Megumi: He'll tell us when the curse is closer.
Megumi replied. The hound walked next to the group.
When Yhwach continued to stroll, he felt something was off.
Once past the gate, he looked up and realized that there was no way they could still be going in the direction of the dormitory. Megumi and Yuji looked perplexed as well.
Yuji: Hey? What's the big deal? Why does it feel like...
Yuji started.
Megumi: It expanded.
Megumi finished.
He quickly turned around and saw that the gates were gone.
Megumi: The gates!
Megumi said.
Yuji and Nobara started to panic a little. Yhwach and Zaegar just remained unfazed.
Megumi kneeled next to his hound.
Megumi: Do you think you can find the exit for us?
Megumi asked. The hound licked Megumi. Megumi got up.
Megumi: We're good. He knows how to get out of here.
Megumi said.
Yuji and Nobara eased up a little. Yuji looked to his left. He saw the body of one of the juveniles splattered on the wall. His heart skipped a beat. He strolled over to the body and kneeled in front of it.
Yuji: The body's tag says Tadashi.
Yuji frowned.
Yuji: Was this...the mother's...
Yuji started. Megumi walked up to Yuji and patted him on the back.
Megumi: Leave him. We have to find out if the other two are dead or alive as well...
Megumi said. Yuji slowly turned around.
Yuji: What?
Yuji replied. Megumi sighed.
Megumi: Are you deaf? I said leave him. He was never worth saving alive to begin with. He ran over a school girl while driving without a license.
Yuji: Take that back...
Yuji said, grabbing Megumi by his collar.
Yhwach stepped forward, his presence commanding attention as he intervened in the tense exchange between Yuji and Megumi. His voice was calm yet firm, cutting through the rising tension like a blade.
Yhwach: Enough.
His words were simple, but they carried the weight of authority. He gently but firmly separated Yuji from Megumi, his gaze shifting between the two with a steely resolve.
Yhwach: Yuji, I understand your emotions, but now is not the time for conflict among ourselves. We have a mission to complete, and we cannot afford to let personal grievances cloud our judgment.
Turning to Megumi, Yhwach's expression softened slightly as he addressed him with a tone of understanding.
Yhwach: And Megumi, your words may have been harsh, but I sense your intentions are rooted in the desire to protect. However, now is not the time for judgment.
A cursed spirit appeared right behind them.
Only Yhwach and Zaegar sensed it the moment it appeared.
Yhwach spun around and lunged at the cursed spirit, His hand gripped the spirit's throat with an ironclad grip, preventing it from escaping or retaliating. With a swift motion, he slammed the spirit onto the ground with bone-crushing force, Knocking it out cold.
Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji were still trying to process what happened. Megumi glanced to his right and saw that his hound was still alive. He felt relieved.
Three other cursed spirits charged at the group out of nowhere.
Yhwach sighed as he sensed the three cursed spirits charging towards them. With a calm demeanor, he stepped forward, letting out his immense reiatsu, which emanated as a powerful spiritual pressure, causing the cursed spirits to freeze momentarily before exploding into nothingness.
Zaegar, perched on Yhwach's shoulder, let out a low whistle of approval, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction at the sight of the obliterated spirits.
Zaegar: Not bad, big man. Not bad at all.
Yhwach nodded in acknowledgment.
Nobara was in utter shock. She had never seen anyone in her entire life with this kind of strength. Yuji looked like a baby compared to him.
Megumi: Mr. Yhwach...couldn't you have let us...you know...access the situation?
Megumi replied, still surprised by Yhwach's strength.
Before Yhwach could respond Sukuna reappeared.
Sukuna: (Speaking from Yuji's hand) THERE IT IS! MY FINGER IS IN THAT CURSE! GIVE IT TO ME!
Sukuna commanded. Nobara moved away from Yuji due to the weird reappearance of Sukuna. It made her want to cut Yuji's hand off.
Yuji: Should I?
Yuji asked, turning to Megumi. Megumi nodded.
He stuck his fingers through the cursed spirit's chest and grabbed the finger. Nobara looked at Yuji with utter disgust. Yhwach just had a plain stoic expression.
Nobara: I swear...if you eat that in front of m—
Nobara started before Yuji quickly ate the finger. Megumi walked up to Yuji.
Megumi: Killing two birds with one stone. We managed to get another finger and kill a Special Grade...
Megumi glanced at Yhwach while Yhwach was looking at Zaegar who was walking in circles staring at the ground.
Zaegar: All These Squares Make A Circle. All These Squares Make A Circle.
With a sigh, Yhwach gently placed a hand on Zaegar's back, halting his aimless circling.
Yhwach: Zaegar, what are you trying to tell us?
Zaegar paused in his circular motion, his reptilian eyes meeting Yhwach's gaze with a glint of mischief.
Zaegar: All these squares make a circle, Yhwach. Can't you see?
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind) Zaegar's not making much sense, is he? But then again, when does he ever?
Zaegar: (Mental Link) Oi, I do fucking make sense! You're just too dumb to understand my genius!
As he continued to ramble on, Zaegar's movements became increasingly erratic. Suddenly, he tripped over his own tail and fell to the ground with a loud thud.
The impact caused the entire building to shake, and as if that wasn't enough, Zaegar let out a loud snore, accompanied by an equally loud fart.
The combination of the snoring and the rumbling caused by his fall and the farting shook the surroundings, leaving the group in a state of disbelief. Yuji couldn't help but burst into laughter, while Nobara covered her nose in disgust.
Yhwach sighed deeply, his patience tested by Zaegar's antics once again. He reached down and gently nudged Zaegar with his foot, trying to rouse him from his impromptu nap.
Yhwach: Zaegar, wake up. We have a mission to complete.
But Zaegar simply snorted in his sleep, oblivious to the chaos he had caused. With a resigned shake of his head, Yhwach turned to the rest of the group.
Yhwach: Looks like we'll have to wait for Zaegar to finish his beauty sleep before we can continue.
Timeskip - Tokyo Jujutsu High
Yhwach had already left his new dorm by the time Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara stepped outside to meet the other Jujutsu Sorcerers.
Approaching Yuji, who appeared somewhat fatigued, Yhwach's curiosity lingered on Sukuna.
Yhwach: Has he uttered anything further?
Yhwach inquired, his voice carrying an undertone of intensity.
Yuji shrugged.
Yuji: Not really, no, although, I do remember us fighting in a dream. That usually happens from time to time. Other than that, nope.
Yuji replied.
Yhwach turned around and saw three people, one of them a walking panda, stroll towards them. What was up with the walking panda?
Zaegar: (Mental Link) Oi Ginjo Yhwach what the fuck is up with this crazy place? Why the fuck is there a walking panda? what kind of fucking world are we in?
Yhwach: (Mental Link) Indeed, Zaegar, this world never ceases to surprise us with its peculiarities. As for the walking panda, I believe it's best not to make any assumptions until we have more information. After all, in a world where curses roam freely, anything is possible.
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind) You're right, Yhwach. We've encountered our fair share of bizarre phenomena, but this is certainly a new one.
He glanced at Nobara, who got up with Megumi to greet them. Yuji walked past Yhwach to greet himself as well.
Girl: So you two are the new First-Years? Wow, we really got more of you, huh?
The girl with the ponytail said in a straightforward manner.
The weird panda animal walked up to Yhwach.
Panda: Panda. Nice to meet you!
Yhwach watched as Zaegar hopped off his shoulder and approached the panda, bowing deeply before speaking.
Zaegar: Oh, Lord Panda, forgive us for we have forgotten to acknowledge your presence.
Yhwach observed Zaegar's peculiar behavior with a raised eyebrow, while Ginjo's voice echoed within his mind, questioning Zaegar's actions.
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind) Yhwach, what in the world is Zaegar going on about now?
Yhwach: (Mental Link) I'm not entirely sure, Ginjo. It seems Zaegar has taken it upon himself to pay respects to our...unique companion.
Ginjo's voice held a note of amusement as he responded.
Ginjo: (Within Yhwach's mind) Well, I suppose we'll just have to roll with it. After all, we've encountered stranger things in our travels.
Panda: Haha, no need for formalities, little one! Just call me Panda. And it's a pleasure to meet all of you too!
Yhwach observed the interaction between Zaegar and the Panda. Despite the unusual circumstances, he couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie among the group.
Yhwach: Indeed, Panda. We're grateful for your hospitality.
Megumi stepped up to introduce Maki to Yhwach.
Megumi: Maki, this is Yhwach and Zaegar. Yhwach and Zaegar, this is Maki.
Megumi introduced. Maki seemed visibly annoyed.
Maki: I'm perfectly capable of introducing myself, Fushiguro.
Maki said coldly.
Megumi stepped back. Nobara and Yuji stopped talking with the white-haired boy and focused on Maki.
Maki glanced at Yhwach's ID and raised her eyebrows.
Maki: Special Grade... Interesting. What's your story?
Yhwach maintained his composure.
Yhwach: Personal questions. Not interested.
Maki frowned. She stood her ground.
Maki: So, now for my question, why are you a Jujutsu Sorcerer? Did the higher-ups force you to join? You're obviously lacking something if they made the decision to put you as a Teacher. I need you to prove to me you're a Special Grade.
Yhwach: Whether I'm a Special Grade or not is none of your concern.
Maki: So, you joined on your own?
Maki asked.
Yhwach's gaze remained steady, his expression unreadable as he regarded Maki. His voice carried a weight of authority, tinged with a hint of disdain for her questioning.
Yhwach: My reasons for becoming a Jujutsu Sorcerer are my own. I owe no explanation to anyone, least of all to someone who questions my abilities based on a title.
Maki bristled at his response, her demeanor growing more confrontational.
Maki: You may think you're above explaining yourself, but in this world, actions speak louder than words. If you truly are a Special Grade, then prove it.
Megumi almost felt the need to step in. He was honestly worried about Maki at this point. Nobara tapped Megumi on the shoulder.
Nobara: Are we going to tell Maki about Yhwach...?
Nobara started.
Megumi: No, let's wait. I've been waiting for her to realize it on her own.
Nobara: Will you ever tell her that he has no cursed energy? This situation is getting out of hand.
Nobara said.
Megumi: Not yet. I'll let her figure it out herself. We'll talk about it later.
Maki: Fine... we'll talk later, but if I'm not satisfied with your answer, we settle it with a duel.
Maki replied, her tone brimming with annoyance. Yhwach simply raised an eyebrow in response.
Yhwach: Very well then.
Maki turned and walked away, leaving Megumi to approach Yhwach.
Megumi: Let me handle her first, then you can step in.
Megumi suggested.
Yhwach: Any particular reason?
Megumi: Trust me on this.
